Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Holocaust survivor and Nobel laureate Elie Wiesel criticized a Teabagger protester in Washington, DC this week who held up a sign showing dead bodies from the Dachau concentration camp stacked in a pile, and compared this to the Democrats' health care reform plan. Here are a few of the Teabaggers' responses to Weisel, posted on Politico:

Antisemitism only exists on the right.

There are morons in both parties. What exactly is your angle here?

Andy - anti-semitism exists in all parties. Conservatives don't own it.

Elie better watch himself. His entire life's narrative is full of holes and he should not be drawing any attention to himself at this point in time. He will die soon and be remembered as a hero and great author but if he speaks out and is finally exposed, he will go down as another fraud. By the way, I love that liberation picture that Elie claims to be in (as well as about 50% of all holocaust authors when launching their books). Elie, by his own story, was in the children's barracks. So, why would his photo be taken with all of these adult men? Elie didn't help his story much when he changed his story to being liberated by black American GI's for a Spike Lee production when it is a historic fact that the first black GI did not enter the camp until 2 weeks after it was liberated. Many of these teabaggers were the ones that exposed Dan Rather, Elie could be next.

Nanc, I was being sarcastic with "Antisemitism only exists on the right."

The idea that conservatives are the only racists is laughable.

So, you support those comments then. I see.

Letus - no. I don't see what this article is trying to do besides eliminate a movement that is against increased government by declaring it (the teabaggers) and their members as unabashedly racist (all of them!) and therefore refusing to debate their stances on a factual basis.

It would be more persuasive to say "the teabaggers are wrong because a government option would increase access to 96% of Americans and the legislation would not allow insurance companies to reject people because of pre-existing conditions..." and so forth, but the lazy route is just calling the whole lot antisemites.

And the ones attacking a holocaust survivors are miserable barnacles on the hull of life.
