Sox Fan Votes Against Yankees Resolution

Rep. William Delahunt (D.-Mass.), a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan, voted against a House resolution yesterday congratulating the New York Yankees on their World Series victory. "He couldn't bring himself to vote for it," said his spokesman Mark Forest.

I don't like the Yankees, but nothing gets to me more than a pretentious yuppie walking around Manhattan with a Boston hat/shirt on.

Hey, the link took me to a different article this morning. Looks like a California rep voted against it, too... an Angels fan.

I subscribe to a Red Sox email list. Great insight on the Old Towne Nine... (er, 10 with the DH). Someone dug up that little gem a day or two ago.

I was flipping between the World Series and a relatively meaningless hockey game (it was game 12 of an 82 game season) and the hockey game was 10 times more exciting and enjoyable.

Why would they even waste time doing something like this, regardless of what team it was? I mean, does the House really have nothing better to do than formalizing a resolution to congratulate the World Series winners?

I have a begrudging respect for those guys. If you've decided to make being a complete asshole your life's calling, being a Bosox fan from Manhatten is a good start.
