Jews, Christians and Muslims are all children of Abraham. They all worship the same G-d.
The difference is the incorporation of the prophets into the religious texts.
Muslims see Jesus and Muhammad as prophets.
Christians, just Jesus.
Jews, neither.
The Muslim name for G-d, "Allah" shares a root with the Hebrew name for G-d "Yahweh," as you might discren simply by saying both names aloud (if you're not afraid of doing that sort of thing). And it's also pretty obvious the link from Yahweh > JHVH > Jehovah.
But this is largely beside the point. They don't fight over G-d, they fight over economic and resource issues, as is usually the case when we go to war. Religious zealots are a symptom, not the cause.
Though it's true that zealots can be exploited (as we did the Mujhadeen in Afghanistan giving rise to Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda) to cause even greater problems. To that extent, religious fanaticism is a worry. Sort of like a hornet's nest. Don't poke it, you probably won't get stung. Western civilization likes to throw its weight around (conquering, it's one of our major strengths) and we've become pretty bad at not poking things we shouldn't.
Or perhaps a better analogy is handing the guy next to us our poking-stick and a twenty dollar bill to poke the next, then making believe we were attacked viciously and without reason when the hornets inevitably swarm.
