"I don't know what was in the head of the producers, but my guess is that this was one of those parodies that was too good to resist. But it should have been resisted. Broadcasters can tell parents whatever they think of Fox or any other network, but you shouldn't do it through the kids."

In the great war between El Cidney and Bert & Ernie, who's your choice? herm

Hey ElSquid?
You should probably check under your bed for a Terrorist-after all-you wouldn't want to be raped in the middle of the night and made into a gay Muslim Communist-Nazi-Fascist-would ya?

By the Way-RUN FOR YOUR LIFE-THERE'S DEMOCRATS IN YOUR STATE!

Doesn't the skit also give demeaning names and put down Walter Cronkite and Dan Rather, two liberal icons?
The outrage seems a bit selective.

I hate liberal indictrination.

Now, get out of my way, it's sunday and I must go hear the good message. We're gonna have a memebership drive to try to get people to think like us.

But I thought Fox News was a middle of the road network, a legitimate news organization, and definately not another arm of the GOP? What does criticizing Fox News, who has nothing to do with the right wing of the political spectrum at all ---I just threw up in my mouth a little bit--- have to do with liberals indoctrinating kids? They're balanced, and therefore when you say anyhting about them you're criticizng the left as much as you are the right, right?

right?

Your message wil not be recieved. People still can't get it into their thick skulls that was passes for the GOP these days has nothing to do with conservatism. Also, what passes for Demos has nothing to do with liberalism.

If they are what they claim they are and what many people who comment on this site claim they are, including the one who made the blog entry, this is can not be an attempt by liberals to indoctrinate kids.

Is "elcide90" and Fox News themselves saying that Fox News is an arm of the republican party? That's quite a break through and it's also the only news story I see here. Why doesn't anyone in the "MSM" ask that question? They won't, instead they will continue to treat Fox like they're a legitimate news organization even though their own words and actions prove that they know damned well what they are.

"The fact that PBS is federally funded prompted viewers to express concern at the shows possible push of a political agenda."

The article writer lost me right here. PBS is NOT federally funded--or not fully. The language at least implies that it is. Do some research, writers. PBS and NPR are _partly_ funded by taxes. The lion's share comes from corporate sponsorship and "Viewers Like You."

And as someone else noted, the show picked on two newscasters at least viewed as liberal.

Sesame Street has always had a liberal slant--if by that you mean encouraging pluralism and believing in the education of our youth.

That said, the Fox News part was a bit over the top. But hardly a sign of indoctrination. I'm willing to bet that the majority of viewers (kids) didn't even get it. Just as they probably didn't get the jokes on Dan Rather and Walter Cronkite. Those jokes are for the parents who are watching.
