Grey skies are gonna clear up...Put on a Happy Face!

Gee, it hasn't been this bad since Reagan. 1983.

"Still, counting those who have settled for part-time jobs or stopped looking for work, the unemployment rate would be 17.5 percent, the highest on records dating from 1994."

Time to get some public works projects cranking.

"Time to get some public works projects cranking."

Yep, it's past time.

Just pass the health care bill and raise taxes. That will fix everything. Or why not pass Cap and Tax, that will create jobs. Or hey, why not offer another stimulus package and increase the deficit. That should help... The Dems are so clueless

the mortgage mess is contained to the subprime loans...

the recession is over...

no, fuck you, you ain't gonna audit the fed, we own your little presidents....

Love,

Ben Bernanke

"10.2% Unemployment. Recovery In Full Swing"

Yep. That's what the ObamaMedia is reporting. LOL

Time to get some public works projects cranking.

I am sure the labor unions are salivating at the prospect of public works projects done with union workers only.

People will join unions like I did. Best choice I ever made.

So how many of you dumbfucks are unemployed?

Great, great point, manypantspisser. If none of the 30 or so regulars at a political blog are unemployed, the nation is fine.

People will join unions like I did. Best choice I ever made.

They all say that until they get laid off.

auntiesocial. unemployed.

I tried to take a job at a high end restaurant but it felt very degrading and I am definitely too old and over qualified. I quit after one night. Yes, something is better than nothing right now. But I am not going to be someone's little bitch. Ain't gonna happen. I would rather be homeless in SoCal or the Florida Keys.

My company just announced the end of the four day week, back to five days. I'll tell you this. In the past few years, orders have been shifting from the US to Asia. My company is involved in computer chip manufacture.

They all say that until they get laid off.

You weren't in a union and managed to get laid off. At least if I ever do get laid off I will have made a decent wage while I was working. Our work is still steady enough that there is no plans for layoffs in the foreseeable future.

Ray is 68. If he was a such a financial genius he would be retired already.

Unions are for losers, they need then nanny union to take care of them. Be a man, take care of yourself.

Which union won worker rights are you willing to give up chicken?

40 hr work week
OT pay
sick leave
personal leave
vacation
worker safety
environmental protection for workers
tenure protection
healthcare

do tell

As with public schools and teachers, the right began bashing/breaking unions with reagan. The reason? Teachers and unions vote overwhelmingly in the best interests of education and students and the American worker, which means they vote dem.

So, the smears are pure politics.

American jobs began shifting to other countries during times of record profits.

Many corps and rich fks pay little or no taxes, using loopholes and offshore offices to avoid them. American workers have no such luxury.

And yet, the rw shills continue to spew venom against the American workers and unions, and teachers and public education, that educates 90% of American students, .......

AGAINST their own best interests.

Only the rich 1%, (141,000 Americans who average 7.4 million a year) benefit from repug policies......

Anyone believe any of these rw shills on DR are in that top 1%????

Only the rich 1%, (141,000 Americans who average 7.4 million a year) benefit from repug policies......

as unemployment climbs past 10%, the Center for Responsive Politics is out with a new report describing the wealth of members of Congress.

highlights:
Two-hundred-and-thirty-seven members of Congress are millionaires.
That's 44 percent of the body compared to about 1 percent of Americans overall.

at least seven lawmakers have net worths greater than $100 million, according to the Center's 2008 figures.
TOPS - -

California Republican Rep. Darrell Issa = $251 million
Rep. Jane Harman (D-Calif.) = $244 million
Sen. Herb Kohl (D-Wis.) = $214 million
Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.) = $210 million
Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) = $209 million.

GAINERS - from 2008-2009

Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) gained about $9 million
Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) gained about $3 million
Sen. Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii) gained about $3 million
Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) gained about $3 million.

back to NET WORTH

Hillary Clinton $21 million
Obama $4 million
Biden $27,000

don't feel too bad for Biden tho - - -

net worth of LESS THAN ZERO . . .

Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-Fla.)
Rep. Harry Teague (D-N.M.)
Rep. Jeff Fortenberry (R-Neb.)
Rep. John Salazar (D-Colo.)
Rep. Sander Levin (D-Mich.)

Unions are for losers, they need then nanny union to take care of them. Be a man, take care of yourself.
