Hey....it's the end of the day. Start unwinding and lighten up a little bit everyone.

There are some pretty intense comments being made.

Lower the BP and tell a joke or something.

Ok, so two weeks ago, I decided that my head needed a hood ornament and tried to pile drive my stair railing through the top of my skull.

I still have a dent in my head.

Will it go away??

(There..if that doesn't get people to laugh, I give up)

You should see my shin. I thought I could jump up a stone wall.

I can see Jeff doing something like this to a co worker

LOL

"You should see my shin. I thought I could jump up a stone wall."

Leaping tall buildings in a single bound, are ya??

Were you wearing your red cape?

Or was it blue??

Actually, it was a ridiculously small wall and I proved the old adage "white men can't jump".

"Actually, it was a ridiculously small wall and I proved the old adage "white men can't jump"."

LOL

Ok..that was funny.

Letus:

When my third child was in 4th grade, I got a call from the principal who told me he thinks my son broke his arm.

I flew to the school and took one look at it and knew it wasn't a pretty break either....his arm was in a position it never should have been in.

I asked how he did it, and was told he fell off the slide. My stomach did flip flops, sick to my stomach when I thought of my child falling from that high up....until I was told he fell at the bottom getting off!

He broke both the bones in his lower arm.

Lighten up!!!

No problem!

---Danforth

Kids. Mine fell off a balance bar when she was two and bonked her head. And when I say balance bar, I mean the one that's like 3 inches off the ground. She was unconscious in the emergency room until the doctor actually saw her. Then, she woke up and looked a-ok. Now she's going for a PhD.

Ok folks...stop the name calling, stop the bickerin'....lighten up and have some fun.

Lisa, it's to be "no name calling, no bickering, and lighten up" on your thread?

Can I at least bitch -- just a little? -- or will you boot me off? Okay, I promise to be good while I'm on here. : )

I have to laugh, though. I know you had the best of intentions when you put up your "be nice" thread but couldn't help but notice that of the eight posts on your "be nice" thread SIX of them are yours!

Well, at least you tried, but you know the characters on here. LOL

Just teasin' ya. I was glad to see your "lighten up" thread. I'm beat and have been working triple time hard this past week so was glad to see your thread where I didn't have to "think" but could just ramble on and talk about anything and relax.

Hmm, now the rule is "be nice"? Let me see. Well, looks like the only other person on here is LetUsPrey. But looks like my buddy LUP hurt his shin.

You should see my shin. I thought I could jump up a stone wall.

Okay, in my best "be nice" voice -- Aw, LUP baby, you got a boo boo? Hope you're feeling better real soon.

Well, that's about all I can handle in the "sweetness and sugar" department. lol Got to go back to being DR "normal" (as if any such word applies on here!) and maybe sling a few arrows. I'll drop by again.

I have to laugh, though. I know you had the best of intentions when you put up your "be nice" thread but couldn't help but notice that of the eight posts on your "be nice" thread SIX of them are yours!

Guess I took too long to write my post. I see since I hit "publish comment" Danforth had joined in and LUP added one new one. Make that ten posts instead of eight.

LOL Chris!

You can crank about something if you want to.

Those I put this thread up for, never made a comment on it...lol.

But I've had a few laughs with Letus, so it's all good!

There was this time when my littlest got off the school bus, turned around and flipped the bus off as it made its way to the next stop - when she got into the vehicle I told her I saw what she had done and asked her why - one of the older teens stole right out of her hands a bag of candy I'd sent for her to share with ALL THE KIDS ON THE BUS - the older girl took it to the back of the bus and gave it to only those she deemed worthy.

As the bus was headed back our way, I backed my Ford F250 right out in front of it so it had to come to a skidding stop - got out and told the driver to open the door - walked onto the bus and to the back where this skanky little 16 year old was sitting and gave her what for and told her I was not only notifying the school and her mother of her theft, but was calling the pastor of the church where we both attended.

She was scared shitless and never messed with my baby again. The busdriver asked to be transferred to another route.

Don't mess with mothers who believe in swift justice.

It's all the fault of Bush, Catholics, Abortions, and all the idiots here.

And, the Phillies lost.

Who are the phillies and what do they have to do with anything?

LOL Chris!

Just teasing. Have been working on tearing down wallpaper since Saturday. And thanks for your wallpaper removal tips! Tough work (dusty, dirty, ugh!) but will finish the 3rd room tomorrow and soon be ready to paint them so am really making good headway. Got a lot of needed repairs done this week.

Those I put this thread up for, never made a comment on it...lol.

Do they ever? LOL

...She was scared shitless and never messed with my baby again.

Good going there, nanc. And if I ever need someone to provide me protection in a tough situation, I'll pick you to be my huckleberry. lol

You make your share of uncalled for snide remarks, Lisa, like you did tonight. Try taking your own advice.

- Hugs and kisses and oodles of poodles

XXOXOXOXOOXOXOXOX

Awwwww...thanks for the hugs and kisses, Timex.

I made my comments tonight in fun...not the cursing, name calling and angry insults that others were making, who usually are more composed than that.

I think I tried a thread like this a long time ago, too. It never does any good.

Oops...can I be pessimistic on this thread? ;-)

I don't have kids, so I can't share any stories about that. Although when I was a kid, I was feeding ducks on the small lake behind our house (3/4 of a mile perimeter), and I threw too hard and fell face-first into the lake. When I went back up to the house, I knew I should go in the garage because I was covered in water, muck, and probably duck poop. I rang our doorbell. My older brother answered the door and as soon as he saw me, he just started laughing and didn't budge for probably a minute. And he was a pretty nice older brother, too....other than that.

There, now I shared something embarrassing.

DUCK POOP?!?!? I'm pretty sure you were covered in fish poop too!

Hey, it's nice to see a thread like this. While it's true that some of the most aggressive critics on here actually like each other, it's also true that there's way too much anger. : )

But while I'm here, I'll tell Lisa I wrote an apology on the gay marriage thread. And I'll say no more on it. There are some topics friends can't or maybe shouldn't discuss. At least not without clear ground rules. Hey, that's okay. My rightwing loonie friend (she probably calls me leftwing loonie), with whom I had a blowout last year, invited me and my entire family to her house in Connecticut whenever we have the time. (So, Lisa, if you're ever in New England, you're still invited to my house for dinner. : ) )

Yeah, Lisa's right. I don't know why so many of you feel the need to name call and disparage others.
Obviously you people aren't able to control yourselves and would prefer to act like children.

This is the Retort, and it's not a place for boorish and child-like behavior. It's for classy stuff.
Oh, STFU Timex.

"walked onto the bus and to the back where this skanky little 16 year old"

Real classy nanc. I wish I would have been on the bus.

"Take It easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels
drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
don't even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand
and take it easy" Eagles

Hi Lisa,

Saw you post from yesterday. Please do drop me a line when you can!

"The busdriver asked to be transferred to another route."

Sometimes, it's best to just avoid crazy rednecks.

Stay away from casinos, Cranc. You might run into an ex-UCLA basketball coach.

Or USC.

Or, Iowa State.

Although, if someone hadn't been watching his back, that little thing he popped in the head was going to brain him with that chair.

That was actually Henry Bibby, of all people.
