Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

An Italian judge convicted a CIA station chief and 22 other Americans accused of being CIA agents Wednesday of kidnapping in the 2003 abduction of a Muslim cleric from the streets of Milan. A symbolic victory, the case was the first ever to contest the United States practice of rendition, in which terrorism suspects are captured in one country and taken for questioning in another more open to torture.

GOOD DEAL

Come and get em...

This is like Jesse Jackson and the other race hustlers burying "The N Word". Completely meaningless.

To prosecute under domestic law is completely different from International tribunals. A nice start though.

I hate to see fellow Americans put in the brig, but kidnapping is way over the line. You really gotta wonder how much these intelligence people actually believe they are above the law.

Average AMericans think they are above the Law with regards to foreign relations and abiding by the Laws. Just look at Dog the Bounty Hunter. He thought He was above Mexican law when He went after Andrew Luster. Many here declared Him a hero and denigrated Mexican Laws. It's that arrogant exceptionalism that is hurting our standing with the rest of the world. We think our shit don't stink and we can do anything and everything we want to. Then people have the utter gall to complain when we get hit or attacked(If You believe the Governments version of events) We ask for our own misery.

Larry

"We" don't think that, but gubment types sure do. Just look at drug confiscation laws. Your car or boat can be taken without a court order, your bank account frozen....but if a bank launders drug money is it taken? Nope.
Friends in high places with subjective laws....

Diablo said something I can agree with!

This verdict is not meaningless - it sends a message if nothing else that the CIA must be more careful when they break laws.

A story about international kidnaping, torture, and abuse of power and our resident racist extrordinaire finds a way to convolute it into a race baiting thread!

Talk about a guy who plays the race card every chance he gets...get over your semi white self Buford.

What a fucking rip off this kangaroo show trial is! Five Italians were not convicted, how convenient! The reason give is that the state didn't provide enough evidence claiming state secrecy. This is blatant anti-Americanism here!

Rock thrown, dog hit. You're too easy OldWeaknStupid.

The Military Industrial Complex and Wall Street, even the State Department, operate with the same set of values as the Mafia.

The Free Market is a meaningless term when weapons of mass destruction and corruption define policy. The actual rule is big fish eat little fish, jungle law. What could be more appropriate for an alleged "Christian Nation".

Terrorists have no rights.

"Terrorists have no rights.

You won't be saying that when you're accused of being a terrorist by some dimwitted overzealous police or prosecutor. And all the other people that think like you now will be saying you don't have rights., and it'll be too bad for you.

Bravo, Italia, bravo...

Uh huh. Bravo for convictions you can and will do nothing about! Yahoo!

They're bitches, and won't do a thing about it, because they're unable to.

what a wonderful example of the american dream in action

AT LEAST they GOT a trial.

That is MORE than they offered the Cleric they kidnapped so they could bypass the justice system and deny him a trial.

Now if Obama can just get foreign courts to exercise jurisdiction over what has traditionally been US sovereignty.

Would we in the USA acquiesce and accept it if the Italian secret police did it in the USA?

THATS RIGHT! At least these CIA scum bags got a trial and were convicted on the uncontestable evidence and not on some "false confessions" that were "Tortured" out of them!

Bellisimo!

Be Well.

ANTICADILLAC,

"CIA scumbags??"

What a complete idiot.
