Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

The problem for the war's opponents, however, is that it's hard to comprehend just how corrupt the Karzai regime is. Seeing it first hand persuaded the troops.
The troops were joined in Grijalva's office by Malalai Joya, an Afghan member of parliament who has been suspended for speaking out against the warlords who run the country.Joya had convinced him, he says, that the U.S. is "funding fundamentally the people who are unraveling the country."

"So if we train 400,000 soldiers and 200,000 go fight for the Taliban, what have we gained?"

Another perfectly acceptable reason to bomb brown people without a McDonald's.

.....and if they have a McDonald's, then use bigger bombs and get a two-fer-one......

we don't bomb countries that have McDonald's.

This whole shindig has been a sham from Day one. This whole thing was planned out in advance during the 1997 Houston Texas Energy meetyings with the Taliban in royal guestness. This has absolutely NOTHING to do with Al Qaeda nor the Taliban. It has everything to do with security for that Natural Gas/Oil Pipeline from the Caspian Basin through the Country of Afghanistan. We haven't succeeded in that endeavour as far as I can tell so let's get the fuck out while the gettings good. Times a wasting.

their govt. implodes

Their Govt. is about to implode anyway.

Didn't you get the news? Zardari might lose his job and it'll get ugly before it gets better.

We just have to make sure we are not seen to be involved in any way.

Rotter are you infering this from our Prime Minister talking of stripping Zardari of his Presidential powers?

Or do you think only him or the entire Parliament gets toppled?

I don't think Zardari is going to get thrown out.

You guys don't have any power to affect the Presidency at this point of time. Plus he's your best hope for pro-American views inside the Pakistani government.

Sorry, guys, but we're there - Afghanistan AND Iraq - not for a year, decade or century, but forever. You guys must remember that you're children of the lower class. Your parents don't vote or give big campaign contributions. We built the costliest embassy ever erected in a conquered country, so a thousand of you offed year;y from now until global warming kills us all is an entirely acceptable price. Especially when Halliburton makes such big profits from you. herm
