Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

n its latest attempt to portray Democrats' reform package as an unwieldy expansion of federal government in the health care sector, the House Republican Conference circulated what it called a list of "new boards, bureaucracies, commissions and programs" created in the House health care bill.

Another reason I think this whole thing could have been tackled within Medicare. More efficient to expand that than to create all these new bureaucracies.

Efficient for who is the question. They're trying to break U.S., lod.

I don't think asserting the other side is anti-American really gets us anywhere.

At some point people have to start respecting the other side or this country is fucked.

Partisanship will break this country if poor policy doesn't.

Ok - so by your statement someone is going to have to break rank and bow down to the other side. I'm not going first. How about you?

Are you then denying that SOME people ARE unAmerican?

ah yes

a liberals wet dream,,.,,

"House Republicans claimed Monday that the health care reform bill pushed by Speaker Nancy Pelosi would create a whopping 111 new "federal bureaucracies."

-Department of Sphincter Affairs
-Bureau of Shinbones
-Gastric Bile Command Center
-Office of Testicular Circumvention
-Department of Vaginal Discharges
-The John McCain Erectile Dysfunction Board
-Bureau of Itinerent Flatulance

Another reason I think this whole thing could have been tackled within Medicare. More efficient to expand that than to create all these new bureaucracies.

Efficiency isn't part of their gameplan, and simply expanding Medicare wouldn't create the authority to govern what private insurers can and cannot do. We need new bureaucracies for that, and they intend to create them.
