Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

At a news conference in Jerusalem Saturday, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton praised Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for offering "unprecedented" concessions on settlement construction to restart peace talks, a possible signal of impatience with the refusal of Palestinian leaders to join negotiations. "What the prime minister has offered in specifics, of restraint on the policy of settlements, of no new starts ... is unprecedented," Clinton said.

concessions ? what concessions ? Obama, we knew there was nothing to expect from you except for more of the same.

Now wouldn't it just be hilarious if Joe Lieberman suddenly decided he could live with a Public Option in the health care bill???
It truely wouldn't surprise me one bit.

"David R. Fransic in the Christian Science Monitor - Since 1973, Israel has cost the United States about $1.6 trillion. If divided by today's population, that is more than $5,700 per person."

www.ifamericansknew.org

And, BTW, Israelis have universal health insurance funded by that same government our foreign aid goes to so, in effect, we pay for much of their health care system. Someone in Congress should force old Joe to comment about that.

"Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for offering "unprecedented" concessions on settlement construction to restart peace talks"

Yeah, riiiiiight, Benny. Another one of Israel's laughable and transparent "bait and switch" jobs. Hillary, desperate to accomplish something in her unremarkable tenure as SOS, took the bait like a starving hyena. Easy US-Israeli public relations win for Benny amidst declining support from the US public for the merciless Israeli genocide in the Gaza Concentration Camp. Of course, you are a heretic if you call attention to the genocide in Gaza, and an even worse heretic (and even a criminal in some countries) if you deny (or even question) the genocide in The Holocaust. Things that make you go "hmmm". Now be good little Americans and hail your Zionist Masters with billions in financial aid and bombs.

"in her unremarkable tenure as SOS"

Yeah....all six months of it.

Clinton is wasting her time, Palestinians will never allow Israel to live in peace. Israel should never give up 1 inch of ground to the bloody Palestinians, the more ground they give to them the more they want, and the more they demand.

The Palestinians daily threats is to drive the Jews they call Infidels into the sea.
They're every day lives are lived in WAR, HATE, GREED, REVENGE, AND MURDER, and will never ever accept peace, no matter what, or how many consessions the Jews give up for them, it's utterly hopeless...

It is better to die fighting like a man than living and accepting the scraps the Jews give them.

It is better to die fighting like a man than living and accepting the scraps the jews give them.

What do they ever give the Jews???
War ad Hell...

Dr. Feelbad I hope they give them a 1000 more years of it.

Yea Jackass. As they hide behind their children and send them off to Allah when Israel fights back.
Great sentiment Jackass.

Jackass

Its just a fun word isn't it?

yooooooooou JACKASSS!!!!

If Iran gets Nukes and is willing to sell one to the Palestinians we will see if the Israelis change their tune when they know their behavior will have real repercussions.

"It is better to die fighting like a man than living and accepting the scraps the Jews give them."

Blowing yourself up in a market is fighting like a man?

They're lucky the Jews are willing to give them anything.

The vanquished usually have little say.

If the roles were reversed, the Muslims would give them time to get out, maybe.

They're lucky the Jews are willing to give them anything.

And it is not a surprise you see nothing wrong on many levels with this.

"And it is not a surprise you see nothing wrong on many levels with this."

Not at all.

The Muslims have had plenty of chances to get a pretty good deal considering they were the losers.

They prefer to shoot rockets and blow themselves up, so screw them.

Israel is showing weakness. They must exterminate the cockroaches.

What do they ever give the Jews???

Their land?

The unilateral US support for Israel has been the ultimate source of USA economic weakness. We've expended trillions upon trillions of our treasure and lives over the last 40 years to support Israel, a country whose politicians thrive using a claim of victim hood and the need for a perpetual fight with its minimally armed neighbors.

Every US Congressman and elected official should be required to sign an oath of USA first before they are permitted to take office.

Do you think that Hillary the Magic Bitch can get the Palestinian radicals to stop lobbing rockets, mortars, and bombs strapped to their women and children in to Israel?

THAT would be an accomplishment...

Depends on which side of the Bank you're on, eh bucko?

Obviously, the Israelis can do no wrong in your world.

The unilateral US support for Israel has been the ultimate source of USA economic weakness.

I can't speak to the economic weakness point, but the Israelis are most unhappy with the current US administration. Obama is not displaying the "unconditional love" for Israel that previous administrations have been wont to do.

Other than for matters of strategic importance, why has Israel been the number one beneficiary over the decades of US largess? When one considers the slaughter of millions that has been occurring across Africa, Israel's losses seem trivial in comparison. But the billions in economic and military aid go to Israel and pennies to other nations.

Do you think that Hillary the Magic Bitch can get the Palestinian radicals to stop lobbing rockets, mortars, and bombs strapped to their women and children in to Israel?

Perhaps if Clinton can convince the Israeli government to stop tacitly supporting the Israeli "settlers" who keep incurring on Palestinian land, get them to stop destroying olive groves, get them to stop stealing precious water, that too would be an accomplishment. The Israeli are not innocents in this either.

What a bunch of crap.

All we hear is if the Israeli's make concessions there will be peace. The Israeli's have been making concessions since Carter!

All that has done is allowed the Palestinians a shorter range to shoot rockets.

Palestinians don't want peace, they want to destroy Israel.

they want to destroy Israel

they want their land back,Why weren't the Israelis put on a reservation, you know useless land like USA and the Indians.

Why isn't Isreal in Oklahoma?

Why do we give Isreal money? When I am barely making ends meet paying my sky high health insurance bill?! And they get free health care. I am going to tell everyone about this.

I don't know why we cotton towards Israel like we do. You would think after a while we would stop but yet we haven't. All I DO know is this. I am so tickled that Ziva David quit the Mossad and went to work for NCIS. Ziva's Father doesn't have Her best interests at heart. THAT is painfully obvious.

Larry

Why are we going to give taliban monies? God help U.S.

"Why do we give Isreal money?" - HALO3

I've been wondering the same thing for a long time.

They aren't allowed to spend it on military equipment, but they do with the surplus we create through our gifts. Then, they thumb their noses at us and the rest of the world and as the #1 recipients of Security Council resolutions against them.

It seems their economy is doing OK. Time for us to quit spending money on people who's attitudes and actions come back to bite us on the butt. I am not an anti-Semite by any stretch of the imagination. Israel has a right to exist. But, I feel their own actions cause them and the United States a lot of needless grief. They do not seem to be 'pro-American' when it comes down to it.

who's = whose

They aren't allowed to spend it on military equipment,

you've got to be kidding?
Apache helicopters?
Sorry, they make them in my town.
They are weapons of mass destruction.
The sound of them will make you shit your pants.
I'm not joking, they test them and you want to duck for cover even though they can see you in the dark.

Israeli general(wish I could remember his name)we don't need your help,we'll make our own boots.

What a joke

Bruce

You are correct. However, our foreign aid to Israel used to specifically ban its use for military purchases. Unless I'm mistaken, I clearly recall that from years gone by. Before rules were changed they'd use surpluses created by our aid to buy military equipment to get around that rule. That policy's been changing over the past 20 years.

Israel doesn't need our money, and certainly doesn't deserve it since it thumbs its nose at us and continues policies that fan the flames of war with their neighbors - breaking every treaty they've made with the Palestinians, seizing land, and building settlements, etc. - which, as you know, is at the heart of anti-American sentiment in the Middle East.

They've done little to help us, and much to hurt us.

AIPAC spies on America and black mails the politicians to keep the aid money flowing. Obama knows this and can do nothing about it, because the average American is to stupid to understand.

Obviously Israel is the Non-disclosed De-centralized War Machine and Gymnasium For Political Plumbers and Prostitutes. Just expect a new frontier of war mechanics involving tool mimicry, synchronized atomic detonations, invisible divisibles with optional stun and void, psycho-turbulence amplification and Damnation(tm) munitions with stabby-stabby things as well. Expect a total carnagefestathon smothered in gravy of the merciless plus a side of hot Zionity with a hint of cardamom. Delicioutastic!

Funny how when the (muslim) Turks ruled the region for centuries Jews Muslims and Christians lived side-by-side in peace.

Of course that was before the discovery of oil.

Well Obama should get the Nobel Prize for ending conflicts in the middle east. Oh wait, he didn't , there never will be peace.
But what the hell let's give it to him anyway.

From when to when was it their land?

However, our foreign aid to Israel used to specifically ban its use for military purchases.

And some here wonder why there seems to be a problem with the Palestinians...

Armed settlers shoot Palestinian, beat his 89-year-old mother

October 30, 2009

Bethlehem - Ma'an/Agencies - Aggressive orthodox Israeli settlers attacked the Salah family on their way to Friday prayers in a bid to take over their home in the East Jerusalem community of Beit Safafa.

The settlers, twelve according to Palestinian sources, six according to Israeli media, and three according to the Jerusalem police chief, pulled up in a car with an eviction order for Ali Ibrahim Salah and his children Ismail, Mohammad, Mahmoud, Ahmad, for their family homes. The buildings shelter 55 residents, 30 of which are under 12 years old. Salah said the settlers claimed they bought the homes from their Armenian owners.

The Palestinian News Network quoted Sheha Salah as saying that her husband had purchased the buildings from its owners in 1966, and had the documents to prove the validity of the sale.

Israeli high court issued an eviction order on the home in August, giving the family one month to vacate the premises.

An argument erupted as the settlers demanded the family get out of their home. One of the settlers, reportedly all in their 50s, was armed with a gun, and fired on the family members. Israeli sources differed saying between one and four were injured, most of them youth.

The following family members were admitted to the Al-Maqased hospital in East Jerusalem after the attack:

Daoud Salah, 18, sustained blows to the head and extensive bruising on his foot
Mohammad Salah, 48, sustained bruises to his lower back after being hit with an iron bar
Sheha Salah, 89, sustained bruises to his head and neck
Ismail Slah, 60, was shot with a live bullet in his hand
Ali Ibrahim Salah, 95, sustained moderate bruises to his body after being struck several times

Israeli news source Ynet said the middle-age extremists fled the scene after the shooting, and were later found and detained.

Spokesman of the Israeli police department in Jerusalem had a different of the incident, saying "three Jewish people came to the home in Beit Safafa to deliver the eviction order to the family then fighting erupted. It seems one of the Jewish people opened fire with his personal weapon and injured one of the Arab residents in the hand...then the Jewish people fled the scene driving their car."

Following their release from the hospital, members of the Salah family were summoned to the police station for interrogation.

We, the jews have been a problem to many people throughout history and that is why there have been many attempts to rid the world of us.

Israel would extinguish EVERY Palestinian life if they could get away with it, make no mistake.

I see a pattern here

Joe Lieberman supports US aid to Israel, some of which would help them pay for their universal, government supported health care system.
He objects to us using our tax dollars to support a decent health care system for Americans.
He should be called out for his hypocrisy on that.

We, the jews have been a problem to many people throughout history and that is why there have been many attempts to rid the world of us.

Correction: more often than not, Jews have been made to be the problem and were subsequently highly constrained in business (which is why Jews tend to be high up in the banking world) and social life. Add to this that Jews tended to survive the Black Death better than most because of certain hygienic practices (such as killing the rats that bore the fleas that carried the plague) that created a higher survival rate.

The use of Jews as the scapegoat by the Nazis before and during WWII and the murder of millions though has allowed Israel to play the victim card one too many times. They were not the only targeted group to die before and during the war, but they were the most documented.

Also to keep in mind: the US was turning away ship-loads of Jewish refugees before the war started. Didn't need them, didn't want them.

WTF is Clinton talking about? Israel has lied to us about new settlement construction over and over. The promises are not unprecedented. Keeping the promise would be unprecedented.

I think it is time to do some fact checking as it appears many on this board are knowingly/unknowingly posting incorrect information.

1.) According to the UN, a country is not able to keep land won in an aggressive war - you can think of Saddam invading Kuwait for this case.
2.) The occupied territory that Israel controls was won in an aggressive war. Depsite the Israel defenders on this board, it is a historic fact that the occupied territory was won in the six day war. On June 5, 1967 Israel illegally (per the UN) launched a PRE-EMPTIVE attack on Egypt. Through the war (which Israel started), they gained control of the Sanai Penn, Gaza, and the Golan Heights. According to the UN (post WWII), this territory should have been immediately returned to the former owners.
3.) By definition, all settlements in the occupied territories are ILLEGAL due to the fact that the land was taken in an aggressive war.

You can spin it anyway that you choose, but the facts are the facts. Either we obey the UN or we do not. Under the UN, we are in support of a terrorist state.

Why is it always the Israels that have to concede and not the palistinians?

Why is it always the Israels that have to concede and not the palistinians?

Read my post above. If necessary, read it twice. The land is being ILLEGALLY occupied. There is no other side of the coin. The land was taken in an illegal, aggressive war. Just like Saddam could not keep Kuwait, under the UN, Israel has no right to the occupied territories.
