Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

The stories about what the Obama White House has to say about Fox News Channel keep coming.

There was White House communications director saying telling Howard Kurtz of The Washington Post and CNN "let's not pretend they're a news network the way CNN is."

Also last week it was NPR's David Folkenflik reporting that "the White House is taking direct aim at Fox News, the news organization that is the home to the most potent collection of its conservative critics."

GAWD is this too funny or what, the first President ever to be so terrified of a network he has to boycott them even though they have the highest ratings...

Just imagine the Fallout if Bush had boycotted NBC...

And don't forget Helen Thomas during the White House press conferance "What do you think we are a bunch of puppets"...

"let's not pretend they're a news network the way CNN is."

And just a reminder Frank 2.5 CNN can not even come close to Fox News, right now CNN is in last place...

www.ajc.com

For October, CNN averaged 202,000 viewers between the ages of 25 and 54, according to Nielsen Media numbers. Bitter rival Fox News continued to dominate the prime-time category, capturing an average 689,000 viewers, the figures showed.

FOX NEWS is the leader period, I think it's funny as hell President "scared shitless" is too terrified to appear on the number one Nielsen rated network...

"FOX NEWS is the leader period"

Well, yeah...of the minor leagues.

"on the number one Nielsen rated network..."

Correction: on the number one Nielsen rated cable network...

So what is your point ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, PBS, all share two things in common...

1) All are "White House Approved"...

2) All are behind FOX NEWS...

"So what is your point"

Touting cable ratings are like talking about the home run leader in triple-A baseball.

"All are behind FOX NEWS..."

Only if you're scoring like golf.

Are you actually going to pretend any Fox news show outdraws ABC, CBS, or NBC? Or say, 60 Minutes, or 20/20?

Since you mentioned Network, Highest Ratings and NBC, I feel the need to correct you in that FoxNews has about 1/3 the ratings of NBC. So you are very wrong to state that FoxNews has the highest ratings. They aren't even close.

The shitstains at ClusterFox can't even beat SPONGEBOB reruns.

So what if a few hundred thousand drooling white-trash morons watch Glenda Beck cry a river or Sean Hannity compete with BillO for most faggoty face on TeeVee. (Honestly, has anyone ever looked like a bigger queen than Hannity?)

People preferring to watch actual NEWS have plenty of other choices.

Let the green-toothed shit-for-brains crowd have their 'nooze' network.

Danforth head to head Fox News beats them all, I know liberals can't stand this and wish it would go away but it will not so get used to it...

www.huffingtonpost.com

Fox News has pulled off another dominant quarter, claiming the top 10 cable news programs in 3Q 2009 and growing, while CNN and MSNBC lost substantial portions of their election-boom audience.

"Danforth head to head Fox News beats them all"

Your link limits the contestants to cable, dumbshit.

You do know the difference between a network news program and a cable news program, right? Just because you "get" cable, doesn't mean all the news programs are "cable" news programs. NBC, CBS, and ABC pull in many more viewers than Fox.

You do know the difference between a network news program and a cable news program, right?

Networks are licenced by the FCC and must serve the public in some regard where Cable is not.

Hey AXE please tell us how many REAL networks even bothered to cover Van Jones until he finaly resigned. I can see you only watch "White House Approved" news like a good cititen should...

WWE (that's rasslin' for you rednecks) regularly outranks ALL fox nooze offerings on cable.

EVERY showing of Spongebob Squarepants including reruns being shown for the 25th time trounces EVERY SINGLE FOX CABLE show. ALL OF THEM!!!

So, being the biggest small fish (cable news) in a sea of sharks really is a fart in a huricane.

File this along with ClusterFox under 'who gives a shit'.

Someone sounds like they fall for propaganda again.

If the Fox cable channel is so piss poor--why is the WH even paying attention??

But then again, he though more people watched Foxnews than NBC news.

Realize you are the dumbass here TaxPayer. Even Chair had to slap you upside the head with a dose of reality.

And you calling people ignorant!?!?!?! Very funny!

ATaxdodger,

You are really a Glenda Fan to have pissed thru an entire case of Depends on this issue.

Okay, your beloved 'nooze' network has a few more viewers than some real news networks. All of them put together don't have the draw of a really bad NFL game or even a totally lame baseball game. Women's hockey would probably rank higher than ClusterFox if anyone was stupid enough to broadcast it.

Fuck ClusterFox and everyone stupid enough to watch it. Good for the Whitehouse staff being smart enough to call a shitpile a shitpile instead of being politically correct. Fox is not news. Fox is entertainment for the brain dead and the mouthpiece for the Greedy Old Perverts.

the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric grew week-to-week adding 30,000 Total Viewers.

"Katie Couric grew" Ha ha ha ha lol lol lol...

From 101 link

Evening News Ratings: Week of Oct. 19
By Chris Ariens on Oct 27, 2009 04:20

PMNBC "Nightly News" was again #1 last week, but lost nearly 500,000 Total Viewers from the week before. ABC's "World News" was also down week-to-week, losing about 40,000 Total Viewers. Only the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric grew week-to-week adding 30,000 Total Viewers.

Couric's broadcast was also the only program to grow in the demo. On Friday, George Stephanopolus subbed for Charlie Gibson on ABC.

The numbers:

Total Viewers: NBC: 8,280,000 / ABC: 7,690,000 / CBS: 5,970,000

A25-54 viewers: NBC: 2,460,000 / ABC: 2,160,000 / CBS: 1,830,000

----

So these are the weekly numbers for the public news.

What are the Fox Weekly numbers??

Is it the 689,000 number or is that the daily number??

The public news should be higher--it's free.

If the Fox cable channel is so piss poor--why is the WH even paying attention??

And remember boys and girls without hardcore reporters like Chuck Gibson we would not know about ACORN or Van Jones...

Lowest rated network news: Couric, 5,970,000 viewers.

Highest rated cable "news": O'Reilly, 2,518,000 viewers.

Now tell us, Ataxpayer...which number is higher?

Dan,

That's not fair and you know it!!!

Vernon is sitting on his calculator right now and poor taxdodger would have to put his hand dangerously close to Vern's junk to get at it.

He still doesn't understand?!?!?!?!

How does a rock type anyway?

BINGO! 3 for 3 on guessing Frank's posts.

I think it's hysterical that Obama is spoiling for a fight with Fox News, but is unsure about how to engage the Taliban.

At least there's one channel the American public knows they can turn to, that don't have Obama Administration sock puppets on reminding everyone of his imminent deification.

Man, the left sure is all knotted up over O'Reilly. This psycho tracks his numbers, and if he's to be believed, O'Rielly pulls in about 3.2-3.5 million viewers.

Obama's youngest daughter is brighter an better informed than anyone on Rupert Murdock's payroll.

The thought than that Australian Asshole controls a good portion of the USA's media is sickening.

He should be tried for terrorism....no wait, we don't try terrorists!!! Just put is Aussie ass in Gitmo for and indefinite time.

Are you gay, Axe?

Higher ratings doesnt mean FUXNEWS is the best news source. In fact in a nation of trigger-happy redneck morons, it probably means the opposite.

It means they were the most willing to race to the bottom and appeal to the lowest common denominator with fear, sex, and patriotism.

What is the weekly number for Fox??

Anyone??

Look fellas--I am asking for clarification on the WEEKLY and DAILY numbers--ok!?

Couric's weekly number was 5.9 million.

The DAILY number given by Dan for O'Reilly was a DAILY NUMBER--not the weekly number 2.5 million viewers.

There is a difference between showing a DAILY and WEEKLY number--capice?

In fact--the link above shows

The O'Reilly Factor 3,760,000 viewers for ONE DAY.

101 link is post #19 for the WEEKLY viewers for the public news.

Mangy Minge,

Why don't you compare how many viewers your Gods get with Spongebob Squarepants.

While Spongebob's fans are still going to be much brighter and well informed than Fox's, it might be a better comparison.

On second thought, you might not want to.

Spongebob kicks ClusterFox ass every time!!!

Of course ClusterFox has more gay stars (some people even say ALL ClusterFox talking head are gay).

"The DAILY number given by Dan for O'Reilly was a DAILY NUMBER--not the weekly number 2.5 million viewers."

Bullshit. The number I gave was 2.5 million.

The Network Numbers are the NIGHTLY AVERAGE for the week.

For example, look at just the Sunday Shows in the link below; they draw over 2 million...do you actually think these single shows draw twice as many viewers as an average CBS Evening News?

www.mediabistro.com

Axe--you need to step away from SpongeBob--I know you wuv em bery much..but really.

The Couric link doesn't say anything about DAILY --it is stating WEEKLY.

What the majority of you stupid shits don't seem to understand is that Liberals and Moderates and even Conservatives that don't have their heads stuck all the way up their ass HAVE A CHOICE of several cable news channels to watch. I watch 2 or 3 on a regular basis. I also watch broadcast news programs occasionally. My watching hours are split 4 or 5 ways.

Batshit crazies and white trash whores only have ClusterFox.

#52 | Posted by Danforth

Then we can complain together about the #19 link--copied to #30-- which doesn't say DAILY--it says WEEKLY.

It doesn't say nightly average for the week either.

I watch some of all of them--well--not the public news--they are like 3 days behind the DR news!

"The Couric link doesn't say anything about DAILY --it is stating WEEKLY."

Numbers are stated as the average nightly viewership for the week. There is no way only 1.2 million turned into The CBS Evening News, yet over 2 million turned into a Sunday morning show.

"NBC Nightly News" averaged 8.609 million total viewers, 10% more than ABC's second-place "World News" (7.818 million) and 42% more than the "CBS Evening News" (6.053 million).
www.huffingtonpost.com

They're talking about the entire season, yet using the words "total viewers". That's because it's a nightly AVERAGE.

"Then we can complain together about the #19 link--copied to #30-- which doesn't say DAILY--it says WEEKLY."

The only thing to complain about is you don't understand how ratings are expressed.

It really is frightening that at any give time as many as nearly 1 percent of the people in this country are being indoctrinated by the reightwing propaganda machine called FoxSnooze.

Just think of the massive class action lawsuit the Rtards could file against Murdock's scurvy crew for lying to them for all these years.

"We really aren't this stupid!!!! It is all the crap we've been fed that makes us look like idiots when be parrot it on blogs. We demand compensation!!"

The only thing to complain about is you don't understand how ratings are expressed.

#58 | Posted by Danforth

Dan--When the link says Weekly--how is that expressing anything other than Weekly?

I agree that the public numbers would have to be higher--they always have been. Why don't they say this is a daily number?

Or at least say --express--this is the nightly average for the week--meaning a Daily number??

So..., which is it?

Is President Obama ignoring Fox News or boycotting Fox News?

I'll check back later tomorrow morning and hopefully you'll have decided by then.

Is President Obama ignoring Fox News or boycotting Fox News?

That's a significantly ridiculous attempt at fabricating a paradox. You boycott something by ignoring it.

He's (lamely) attempting to delegitimize the only sliver of the Fourth Estate whose airway isn't clogged with his scrotum.

He's doing so by sending his top, agenda-setting aides on high-exposure national television to talk about it in specific terms.

That's not how you "ignore" something.

If the "president" were something more than a mere know-nothing, half-ass, street-agitating thug feeding off the quickly-fading aura provided to him courtesy of a sycophantic media, he would have long since figured out the inherent stupidity of picking fights with an entity that buys ink by the barrel.

He's (lamely) attempting to delegitimize the only sliver of the Fourth Estate whose airway isn't clogged with his scrotum.

Delegitimize?

Doesn't that imply that Faux Noiz actually had legitimacy at some point?

Cos they never have.

Fox news actually make Communist propaganda from the late fifties look subtle and sophisticated in direct comparison.

They are basically THIS guy.

Only backed up with moronic newsbabes, splashy supers and a plethora of foamy-mouthed Jokers.

Be Well.

#66 PLETHORA?? You watch your language, sir.

Your 'colorful' language aside, it's apparent that the difference between "ignore" and "boycott" has escaped you.

One can ignore many things they are not boycotting. The underlying difference is WHY.

A boycott is an active refusal to do business with someone/something to coerce a change. This is difficult to accomplish if one simply ignores them/that. OTOH, one usually ignores that which is insignificant enough to not warrant being acknowledged. See the difference?

You claim Fox News is only "lamely" being delegitimized. If Fox News is so "legitimate" and popular, how could the WH affect them by simply "ignoring" them? OTOH, if Fox News is a "business" that requires "commerce" with the WH to be successful, then you might have a point. Is that what you are saying?

So the question remains:
Is Fox News being ignored or boycotted?

Maybe a better question is:
Is Fox News being "boycotted" or "avoided".

To use an analogy: Where I live, one avoids rattlesnakes. One doesn't boycott them. Also, one ignores rattlesnakes at one's peril. NOTE: rattlesnakes do not depend upon me for survival and, similarly, rattlesnakes do not get 'miffed' if I avoid them. So again, in another way, what's Fox News afraid of?

"#66 PLETHORA?? You watch your language, sir.

Hey, it's early, what can I say? I'm just visiting now and again between household chores. You know, washing dishes, laundry, sweeping the peanuts off the floor, tossing out the empty bottles, checking up on the chai supply, making sure there's the makings of a latte somewhere about, changing the bulbs on my marijuana plantation in the abandoned missile silo, digging holes in the front yard and inseting punji sticks for tomorrow night's trick-or-treaters.

www.foxnews.com

"A major national scandal and none of the broadcast networks is covering it," said Dan Gainor, vice president for business and culture at the Media Research Center. "This is the news media in the era of Van Jones and President Obama. The major outlets cover what they want and create the themes they want."

Liberals love it, they want and enjoy having the news filtered and suppressed just like the State run media in Russia, China, or North Korea. The reason is Liberals have an agenda they want protected at all costs, having the truth come out would make those involved accountable as in Van Jones resignation...

#73 | Posted by Doc_Sarvis

Hey Doc now that's funny, as for the rest of you I can vouch for Doc he my be a little hard to wake up and has plenty of chores but after he is finished getting ready for those Pesky trick or treaters he will come to the defense of FOX NEWS...

Ok Doc time to burn a bad one wait 10 minutes then post...

Well I have to go for now Doc will be taking over for me after he finishes burning a bad one in the missle silo...
