I like Newt too. I hope he runs in 2012 -- if the Mayans don't get us first.

"if the Mayans don't get us first."
Nah...that's in December, weeks after the election.

It's a good sign that already liberals like corky are playing him down.

Llike I said, because I like him. He's very intelligent, he's politically savvy, I think he can make positive changes.

Well, you have to admit, his big political pitch, The Contract For America, went 0-for-8. Or, as Republicans seemingly view it, an unqualified success.

not to mention how he treated his wife while questioning others

You can always tell what scares leftist shit based on what their scum in the blogosphere goes after hard (Corky doesn't count).
I don't think Newt wants to run, but if somebody decent doesn't step up, I think he understands its his duty as a citizen of what's left of this nation to do so.
I've made a conscious decision not to send money to the Republican Party until it purges and distances itself of people like Shrum, Brooks, Graham, etc.
I've even suggested, via email, that Mike Steele quit mailing his pretty little flyers to my PO Box. He's wasting money doing so.
There is a palpable, almost ugly rage simmering amongst the productive people upon which this economy depends. If the RNC is too fucking stupid to tap into it to salvage the American way of life, it doesn't deserve to exist.

That's always a good sign when the oppositions best argument is what happened between him and his wife.
We saw how Carter treated his by cheating on her. I guess he was unfit for the presidency, too? Or does your logic only work against republicans?

"We saw how Carter treated his by cheating on her."
Um...I think you're confusing that with Carter's admission he had lust in his heart. Isn't that a bit different than having an affair while you're publicly excoriating the President for having an affair?

Clinton, BJ while Newt professed all this moral high ground while doing the full 'dirty down low'. Leaving his wife while she was in the hospital with cancer was a nice touch, wasn't it?

I love it when the democrats take the "we don't profess to high morals, so we don't have to live up to them" attitude. Yep, that's who I want in office. *snark* LOL

I don't love it when a House Speaker, all up on the 'high ground' is attempting to get a President impeached while fucking his secretary as his wife lays in the hospital with cancer. Nice try at a strawman. Fail!

"we don't profess to high morals, so we don't have to live up to them"
Study it. Perfect example of a strawman.

Study what?

I don't love it when a House Speaker...
And I don't like it when the democrats pull the "we don't claim to be moral" card as an excuse for their indiscretions.
So?

I wasn't the one making the request to study "it". I was the one asking what "it" was.

Gingrich was in Wheeling, WV recently telling his audience that the Northern Panhandle was a 'happening place.'
LOL
Everybody in Wheeling knows that the northern panhandle is one of the most dirt poor places north of the Mason Dixon.
What was Newt's infalable logic, you ask? Well, I was there and I heard him say . . . "The northern panhandle is going to be the 'happening place' because people are going to get tired of trying to find their way around Pittsburgh."
The audience applauded politely and exchanged knowing little smiles.
The "Hoopies" may be suffering from the jobless economy but they're not stupid.
Newt apparently disagrees . . . he seems to think that "Hoopies" really are stupid.
So, yeah, I'd say Newt is trolling for 2012 votes.

I walked into Barnes and Noble the other day but could not get past the escalator full of people listening to some author talk about his book.
It only took another second or two to recognize the voice, it was Nutty Newty talking about his new historical novella. (this IS Naples after all!)
Which, if we are lucky, is about as close to political speechmaking as he will get any time soon.
The man is a pseudo-intellectual pawn of the insurance companies, a Golden Rule pimp from way back, one who altered American politics with his hate speech and corporate agenda in the early 90's.
He needs to fade into the dark night like any other old bloodsucking vampire.
