Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Researchers say they've found evidence that some explosive peaks are connected via a massive body of partially-molten rock that stretches between Mount St. Helens, Mount Adams and Mount Rainier. The magma chamber would be one of the biggest ever discovered, on a par with the pool of molten rock that underlies the Yellowstone basin.

The cascade range, where these volcanoes nest, is one of the youngest mountain ranges on this planet. So the fact that the supervolcano has not blown its top yet may not be that unusual.

I'm not going to worry about it though. By the time this monster blows its top, we are all going to be dead because of the mass extinction Zat keeps predicting.

And what does that mean to someone on the north left coast? Zat's climate change will kill us first. The sky is falling!

Good then i won't be buying that volcano insurance.

Good then i won't be buying that volcano insurance.

too late. Volcanic Eruption is already covered in even the basic coverage forms for property insurance.

you already have it.

"you already have it."

Does that include baking soda volcanoes?

if a fire results???

yes.

What about mudflow from said volcano. Paper mache is probably not too easy to get out of carpets.

No, silly. It just seems that way because you are standing above a rising dome of magma.

RUM!!!!!! You thought i meant to say RUN!!! didn't you? No, I meant, PASS THE RUM, WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!

I remember when Mt St Helens went in 1980. I live across the state and the sky went black and the ash fell a foot deep. Everyone freaked out. If there was ever a really big eruption, it would cripple Washington and probably Oregon and Idaho as well.

and Idaho as well.

Kaboom!!!!

Mount Rainier might be near ready to blow.

"The most recent recorded volcanic eruption was between 1820 and 1854, but many eyewitnesses reported eruptive activity in 1858, 1870, 1879, 1882 and 1894 as well." - Wiki

It is only 54 miles from Seattle. It has not done anything in 115 years. Wake up Tacoma.

You know it's too bad molten lava doesn't stay molten for very long after exposure to air. I'd love to put a good half inch layer in the crawl space for the whole winter. Betcha I could save on My fuel bills. Providing I didn't set the house on fire. LMAO

That clears everything up.

I kinda hope Yellowstone does blow soon. I get tired of all those cute animal shows on the idiot box.

#15 one of the funniest things Larry has ever posted! LOL too!
