The Mayans never claimed the world would end on Dec 21, 2012. The only people who said that were people who simply didn't know what they were talking about.

What the Mayans claim is that there will be a great change for humanity, and it is the end of the fifth cycle. That means humanity will not function as it has.

The Mayans knew a great deal about astronomy, and on Dec 21 2012, the sun will rise in alignment with the galactic center. They say they got their information and science from their gods--who were with them and not some ethereal entity in the sky. Just like the Sumerians.

I believe these gods were real, and I believe the proposed source of them. I also believe that Dec 21, 2012 will bring great changes to humanity. As to the aliens--we were "made in their image and in their likeness" like the Enuma Elish states. I believe they are still among us in powerful places making decisions that have an effect on all humanity.

No one recreated it. Most people thought it was a bug, but all the bugs shown you could see antennas and legs--you couldn't see those body parts on the blue blob. All the other recreations didn't have the fluid motion of the blue blob. No one put up an accurate recreation, and I still don't know what it was.

I think I can come up with the $50 and I think Goatman can come up with the $5000. But it isn't about the money--it is more of an ego thing---the winner gets the satisfaction of rubbing the losers nose in it forever. As stated, modern researchers are investigating Enuma Elish for the origins of humanity and the solar system. The Sumerians say this story was told to them by the gods. Let's look at it from the perspective of the gods telling the humans this story, and of the modern researchers investigating the story. Taken at its face value, it is a story for chidren with gods floating around and fighting in the sky. But instead of thinking of it in childish terms try thinking of it in scientific terms.

Tiamat was a watery planet, completely covered in water, and orbiting where the asteroid belt now orbits. Apsu --she who bore them all---was the sun. If there were a large planet---twice the size of Earth--orbiting where the asteroid belt is now, the gravitational pull of such a planet would disturb the orbits of the outer planets, and could possibly have resulted in them crashing into each other, and being destroyed.

Form outer space, a rogue planet was influenced by the gravitational pull of the planets orbiting the sun, and its trajectory was changed, pulling it into our solar system. However, instead of orbiting in a counter clockwise motion, it was traveling in the opposite direction. This set up a collision with Tiamat, splitting her in two, and sending her to the orbit the earth now orbits in. Kingu was the moon. They gave the planets the names of the gods, since this is how the current orbits of the planets were created.

No one knows the future with any certainty. Goatman may be good for the $100,000 now but who knows about the future. Am I good for the $1000? I don't know that either. I think I can come up with the $50 and I think Goatman can come up with the $5000. But it isn't about the money--it is more of an ego thing---the winner gets the satisfaction of rubbing the losers nose in it forever. However, if I am right and it does turn out to be a natural disaster killing hundreds of millions(and not just aliens revealing themselves) then I lose that satisfaction---so in a sense, Goatman has the only chance of winning, and the $50 he wins would be like a baseball caught at a pro baseball game. The value isn't really in the baseball. I couldn't really gloat over the deaths of millions--do you see the point?
