This will make JeffJ's head explode!

Republicans support and love torture The terrorists loves the same thing.

Republicans love extraordinary rendition the terrorist love the same thing

Republicans love the continuing of holding detainees hostage so to does the terrorists.

Republicans loves many things the terrorists love. It's not surprising the Republicans call their followers The Base and that Al Queda Means The Base. It's not rocket science.

Larry

Get this i heard that Bush actually likes chocolate ice cream which was a favorite of bin laden.

That terrorist!!!

Oh wait, you guys were being serious? Holy crap!

To one degree or another....the dems support all of that too Larry.

you live under the delusion that there is a meaningful difference in the 2 parties.

Republicans have always loved terrorists. Cuban terrorists, Salvadoran death squads, Afghan terrorists, etc.

So the DNC morphs into the RNC

"The Republican Party has thrown in its lot with the terrorists -- the Taliban and Hamas this morning -- in criticizing the President for receiving the Nobel Peace prize," wrote DNC Communications Director Brad Woodhouse.

Politics as usual. This is newsworthy?

*yawn*

It is funny. The RNC replaced the DNC after 40 years of rule and became just as corrupt and twisted in only 10 years, then spent 8 becoming even worse. Now the DNC has taken only 3 years to match what it took the RNC 18 to achieve. We are getting more efficient.

They're either with us, or against us...

Who cares what JeffJ does, I want to see how angry the democrats and liberals are at this statement. If history is any indicator, their vaginas are going to be awfully sore over this comment. They sure did react strongly to comments like this prior to now, and if they're anything, they're consistent...

"Now the DNC has taken only 3 years to match what it took the RNC 18 to achieve. "

Yawn. It's about time the Dems turn the tables on these fuckers and give them a taste of their own medicine. Obviously some holier-than-thou "non-partisans" with "clean hands" won't like it. Tough shit.

No Null,
I just don't believe in justifying acting like those whose actions I supposedly oppose. If it was bad according to the DNC for the RNC to do something when they had the majority, then it is still bad for the DNC to now do it.

As long as each side cares more about giving the other their "medicine," this will just keep escalating.

Always said the taliban regime was one messiah short of being a Republican paradise. And they both hate America.

As long as each side cares more about giving the other their "medicine," this will just keep escalating.

....they have become the party of whiney, obstructionist pricks who spend their whole time trying to score cheap political points instead of helping to govern......

You can let people see them for what they are, instead of acting more and more like them. This is right out of Rove's playbook.

Not to agree with the Communications Director but what's good for the goose........

Liz Cheney, the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, was on Fox News to discuss President Obama's decision regarding the release of detainee abuse photos.

"I have heard from families of sevicemembers, from families of 9/11 victims, this question about, you know, When did it become so fashionable for us to side, really, with the terrorists?" Ms. Cheney said on Fox News Channel. "You know, for us to put information out that hurts American soldiers?"

Where were you guys then?

This is right out of Rove's playbook.

Sure is. Worked then right?

This is right out of Rove's playbook.

which now is seemingly okay with the hypocritical fuckwits who were crying like pussies not all that long ago about these tactics.

people who where honestly offended by Rove's tactics are just as offended now.

the rest........expect others to believe their faux outrage every day.

The anti-Dean advertisement is the latest in a series of apparent Republican attempts to link Democrats to terrorists and terrorism supporters in hopes of weakening the party's overwhelming Jewish support.

But it is still A OK with you right? Or are you singing a different tune these days?

Where were you guys then?

First of all, I don't care what the DNC says....water under the bridge.

But I didn't realize Liz Cheney was head of the RNC or elected to anything.

But it is still A OK with you right? Or are you singing a different tune these days?

see #22.

not crying then, not crying now.

You, OTOH?????

Sure is. Worked then right?

#18 | Posted by Manypaths at 2009-10-09 04:32 PM

I would say it worked then, but eventually back fired, and the people engaged in it at the time are now largely thought of as kooks, hypocrits, and partisans who put their own political ambitions ahead of their country.

I thought they worked for FoxNews?

They do, but has anyone ever thought lower of them than they do now?

number wise that is

I would argue that Obama's election was a clear rejection of that kind of politics; wasn't that a big theme of his presidency?

Obama seems to have largely neutered his opposition by remaining above it all; why would it be any different for this guy in the article?

Don't think so.

I'll say it. The DNC would be wise to recant the first sentence of their statement. It is uncalled for and takes away from the rest of the statement which is right on the money.

In my opinion that is. But now the focus will be driven by the GOP towards the first sentence and what needed to be said is lost.

"The 2009 version of the Republican Party has no boundaries, has no shame and has proved that they will put politics above patriotism at every turn. It's no wonder only 20 percent of Americans admit to being Republicans anymore it's an embarrassing label to claim."

I agree with that 100%. I don't agree with the Rovarian smear that preceeded it.

I agree with that second part, too. And think you're right; the smear only takes away from the message.

I think Obama is the perfect example of what staying above this kind of shit does for one's image.

I think Obama is the perfect example of what staying above this kind of shit does for one's image.

#30 | Posted by LIVE_OR_DIE

And I would bet money that he or Axelrod has had a word with the DNC chair about this sort of stuff.

From the article...

This really might be his Carter whacking-the-bunny-rabbit moment.

I beg to differ.

I think with Obama's humble response and the continued attacks from the GOP, we are witnessing a Republican-party-circling-the- drain moment.

You can let people see them for what they are, instead of acting more and more like them. This is right out of Rove's playbook.

Yup. Stupid Republican smears are one of the reasons their approval rating is so low. If Democrats adopt the same tactics, like this side-with-terrorists junk, they will have the same results.

You can let people see them for what they are, instead of acting more and more like them.

.......just makes them want more......

........Grayson's got the right idea......tell them, and the world, just what they are and what they represent.......

Oh please,

BOTH sides are guilty of the same bad behavior...don't make me go out and dig through the Internet Archives.

"The 2009 version of the Republican Party has no boundaries, has no shame and has proved that they will put politics above patriotism at every turn. It's no wonder only 20 percent of Americans admit to being Republicans anymore it's an embarrassing label to claim."
* * * *

Uh huh. Except that the number is actually in the low forties.

I remember about five years ago, the Republicans were talking seriously about a permanent Republican majority, invested too heavily in their own press releases. Obama has managed to surround himself with the most despicable people in American life, and the Dems' Congressional "leadership"--such as it is--are over the age of 70. The youth unemployment is over 30 percent, and rising, in an age of multitrillion dollar Wall Street bailouts.

Assume nothing. Saturday Night Live will be having a lot of fun with this silly Nobel Prize; every time some dumbass in Obama's White House opens his piehole like this retard did, he makes all Dems look stupid, and touchy.

Party on, though. Gobama! The Winner of the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize! Whoop whoop!

If Democrats adopt the same tactics, like this side-with-terrorists junk, they will have the same results.

.....I don't think so.......

....the Repubs keep talking trash so that they can continue to rape America.....

.....it's time for someone to yell rape !!...and call them on what they are doing......

....the rest of the civilized world thinks we are patsies because we are letting insurance companies screw us out of a proper health care system......all the insurance companies had to do was buy off the party with the biggest mouth ( but least representatives ) and they manage to hold off a bit of progress that the rest of the civilized world took care of after WW 2.....the Repubs are the American Taliban.....holding the country hostage to backwardness through their lies and intimidation........

"Obama has managed to surround himself with the most despicable people in American life"

Greedy little weasels and leeches like you?

one of the dumbest things the dumb party has said in a while.

ah but thats okay.

then we can ALL work for the govt and MAKE NOTHING

and how many libs here are posting dribble from corporate offices??

So once again the dems blame the repubs for their inability to get anything done? Doesn't that seem a bit embarrassing to the dems? They DON'T NEED REPUBS BLESSING, THEY CONTROL ALL ASPECTS OF DC.

Why can't dems look at their leadership and remove those unable to get anything done? Maybe if they spent as much time and energy pressuring the party leaders as opposed to blaming dems...

opposed to blaming dems...

Ahem... Blaming "repubs"

#46 | Posted by skizziks at 2009-10-10 10:30 AM

Well at least the first two sentences were honest and truthfull. As for the last two... Well that is my point about spending more energy criticizing repubs. Nowhere did you mention any of the leaders by name. Or mention anything about change.

#48 | Posted by crispee_oc

...if you agree with the first two, then the third certainly makes sense.....

.....the Dems are trying to be bipartisan but only end up looking weak......you are right in that they should not BLAME THE REPUBS.....THEY SHOULD JUST FUCK THEM GOOD........

.....the Dems should just ram their legislation through and be done with it, and let the Repubs cry all they want.......as you know.....the Repubs have made it clear that it does not matter what legislation the Dems propose, they will oppose just on principle......

.....so why waste time ??......

......Grayson has the right idea.....fuck the Repubs and git'r done......

#49...

Again nothing about the leadership allowing repubs to control the game. Is it possible better Majority Leaders in both Houses would bring repubs on board? Or at least get some compromise for bi-partisan legislation?

If the complaint is nothing is getting done because of the repubs, how does that pressure the ineffective leadership?

Again nothing about the leadership allowing repubs to control the game. Is it possible better Majority Leaders in both Houses would bring repubs on board? Or at least get some compromise for bi-partisan legislation? 50 | Posted by crispee_oc

.....that would only work if the Repubs were interested, but, they have made clear that it does not matter what concessions the Dems make, they will oppose any legislation like mad dogs.......

.....I agree......that the dems are poorly led by Pelosi and Reid......

.....they simply do not have enough members like Greyson who can call a spade a spade........

.....but no, bringing Repubs aboard is not the answer since they are bought and paid for by industry.....they are shameless corporate whores who oppose anything that weakens the industrial complex's death grip on your wallet......

....but the weakness is just not in Pelosi and Reid, if they had more outspoke members, the leaders would be pushed to action.......but the Dems , as a whole, are well intentioned but spineless......

.....and then.....to give credit where its due.....a few of the Dems like Baucus , are themselves corporate whores, like the majority of the Repubs.......

.....at this point....the only viable option for the Dems....is to ram through their agenda and simply ignore the Repubs........
.

#51...

But if Baucus is in charge of the HC Reform, and he is bought by the same Corporate whores, wouldn't that benefit the repubs and not the dems? Seems like dems should be opposed.

BTW... Baucus went against his own party a few years ago, when he supported the Medicare Prescription Bill. Something Obama has criticized repubs for passing.

.......Baucus has accepted millions from his corporate masters in the insurance and health care industries........and it seems to have affected how he votes.......he is a transparent corporate whore.........

.....but he is chair for only ONE committee, so it will get done with or without him......there are at least SIX separate versions of the health care bill that I am aware of, that are being prepared by various committees plus the administration.......

......Baucus will have limited input into the final version and only one vote.......

.......I don't know how Baucus voted on the Bush's drug bill, but the only that did was to pass billions of dollars to the drug industry.......corporate stealing gussed up to look like a health benefit bill.........

HEY CRISP

lets see what the 'boys' here this am have to say about this

so the corporate 'ho's are a problem.

DONT you really mean the 'ho's who obama HASNT bought off

remember the BACKROOM deals with big pharma

and the 150 DRs in the rose garden the other day that the white house made sure all had thier 'costumes' on..
report is that 4 out of 5 of those docs were OBAMA finaicial supporters..

"Obama won the prize "for awesomeness," says the mocking GOP fundraising letter. Obama's honor shows "how meaningless a once honorable and respected award has become," says the letter, signed by Michael S. Steele, chairman of the Republican National Committee."

THATS THE BEST the GOPhers can come UP WITH? WOW how lame is that? NO WONDER fewer Americans want to be known as Republicans.

#57...

Frank Rich pretty much sums up Obama and Lobbyists...

It's in this context that you have to wonder what some of the Obama era's most moneyed and White House-connected lobbyists were thinking as they preened before a Washington Post reporter recently for two lengthy articles. We're not even nine months into the new administration, yet these swaggering, utterly un-self-aware influence peddlers seem determined to prove that nothing except the party affiliations has changed in the Beltway's pay-for-play culture since Tom DeLay. If these lobbyists were stocks, I'd short them.

.....our democracy is seriously diminished because our system encourages the purchase of our politicians.....

.....even at my county and municipal level, my local politicians have been bought off by developers who are ruining the economy of our county, but enriching themselves.........

......Baucus will have limited input into the final version and only one vote.......

I could be wrong, but isn't he the final say. Or his committee.

BTW pretty much everything about Obama IS AWESOME so I guess it is about time the GOP figured that out!

Muha ha ha ha ha hah haha THIS IS so good seeing the wingnut idiots like Afkbabble crawling out from under their rocks and committing diarrhea of the mouth over this award!

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! You are just making the folks on the right look more and more ridiculous and less and less relevant to American politics!

"Obama's Nobel Prize Inspires Conservative Outrage And Confusion"

LOL!!!

All I heard over the last couple of days from Conservatives was:

"The Nobel Community has hit a new low, I'm disappointed to see a quality tradition being used for low class political tricks"

"I would have a great deal of respect for Obama if he respectfully declined the prize and mentioned people who deserved it more"

I can't say I defend a statement like this. Actually, I think it's quite dumb. It's the same stupid shit that Bush said, "you're either with us, or against us." The label "terrorist" is too extreme, though there may be somewhat valid arguments for calling NOPers "unpatriotic" or "anti-American."

at least the bush comment made more sense whether you agree with it or not. he was telling the countries who harbored terrorist that they were just as guilty as the killers they sheltered. as IM sure you well know..
and there was no disputing the definition of the word terrorist in that case.

at least the comment is getting SOME attention whereas others from the left are ignored except for channel 205 on my satilite

maybe YOu can tell me how many poor people have hired you for a good paying job with benefits.

.......this particular sentence makes no sense.....I am not advocating that anyone should be poor......or that it is better to be poor than rich.......

and I sat through the michale moore interview with hannity
what a chore THAT was...
and the best part..when hannity said that he was a millionaire because of the system he was trashing, he had no comment...

........there are systems.....and then there is the corruption of systems......our "system" allows for the creation of wealth.....but because of generally lax oversight rules.....our "system" allows our politicians to be bought......then the politicians stop working for the people, and start working for the corporations who have bought them.....that is the weakness in the American system.........

and when hannity made him a deal that if moore gave up so much of his money that hannity would also..
moore had no comment.

......again......there is nothing wrong with being rich.....it is a goal for everyone to aim for, but if you want to increase YOUR wealth, by BRIBING a
politician, to make rules that favor your wealth-creation over the common good, then we need to fix that fault in the system.......

corporate graft...SURE...do something about it but dont get rid of the very thing that has seperated us from all the other countries in the world

.....no one is saying to get rid of capitalism, but just look at the recent banking bail outs, they relaxed the banking regulations, and the banks fell over themselves in a race to the bottom, capitalism is good, but it must have effective regulations to prevent abuse......I am for capitalism, but the wholesale bribery of elected officials works agains the good of the country........

capitalism....its not perfect but name something better.

I think the ratio is more dems and repubs have been bought and paid than haven't. Hell all could be linked at one time or another. Is there really any politican that hasn't been bought?

moore told him that he should pay TWICE AS much as he is paying now
hannity talked about ALL of the taxes he pays in NEw york which I think we can all agree is more than other places and the total of his income was 60%...a figure that is very blievable in that area and moore waned him to pay TWICE AS much

so wouldnt that be 120% of his income??

hhhhhhhhhmm

lets see..carry the 2 and ...this and that

there is no DOUBT that this system is not perfect just as there is no doubt that the same system made us the richest and MOST benelovent country in the history of the world

and obama is all about CHANGING that...

gotta go

looking for that BIG hit

NO..Im not talking about bongs...that BIG hit at the track....

You would be surprised how many on both sides of the political aisle agree with eddie's statement. I for one am included.

There was no reason to nominate Obama before he became POTUS. Had he been nominated last month for the 2010 award, at least there could be some substance and proof of him deserving the award and would silence many critics. As it stands now and based on the criteria of the Committee, IMO he falls short.

.....in attacking the President for winning an award that is prestigious in the eyes of the world, the Repubs have shown that they are capable of putting their party, ahead of their country, each and every time......

Lets try it this way...

I am against the Nobel Committee for picking anyone that did not earn or deserve the award. It has nothing to do with Obama. Nothing partisan about that statement. No hate against Obama. Just my opinion based on the criteria of the Committee's selection.

On the other side of the coin, I do not think Obama should have accepted the award for the reasons stated above. I also conceded Obama could have been nominated last month for the 2010 selection. Then if he won, it would be for his accomplishments for the prior year. Which would certainly call out the critics if he did in fact deserve it.

As for the DNC--they should pay attention since there are many on the left who saying the same darn thing as Steele.

......like I said.....nobody gives a shit about that award except the Republicans.......

....they want Obama to do this, they want Obama to do that......

.....it's a meaningless award....they are simply attacking Obama because that's all they know how to do.......

.....if they had any class at all, they would have just congratulated him and bit their tongue......

.....Obama did not think he deserved it either, but he will graciously accept it in the spirit that it was intended........that's class........

That is unlikely he would win.

.....I know....Rush's head would be twice its size with outrage.......

.....and he would demand that Obama return the prize.......

Why do you continue to ignore the core to my argument? I just laid it out from my perspective and as you know I am a republican. Is it a waste of time expecting a response to those reasons? Can you get off the they want this and they say that? Does my argument have any merit?

Obama did not think he deserved it either, but he will graciously accept it in the spirit that it was intended........that's class........

The intended spirit are for the accomplishments of the prior year. Not the future. Not my words. The words of the Nobel Committee. I think Obama showed less class by accepting something HE knows was not earned. Class would have been to not accept. He still could have made the same argument that this is a call to action, he could have said the same thing about making this a challenge to the world and been just as gracious and humble. He would have got much more repsect and silenced the same critics.

......a couple of things.....first....I am not a Democrat......

.....I am not ignoring your points, but think, when in your life, did you take a principled stand against any other recipient of a Nobel prize ?.....

.....when did the NRC take a position against any other recipient ??...I was around when Arafat got the prize, but I did not hear any Republicans complaining.......

......have you complained about any other Nobel prize recipient, in literature, physics, chemistry, science ??....have you ?....there have been some contraversial winners, never a peep from you or the Republicans........

.....frankly...when Jimmy Carter won it, no one complained or asked him to take it back , yet his peace initiatives ultimately failed miserably ...where was the outrage ??.......

......like I said, Obama knows he did not deserve it, he did not ask for it, but it would be arrogant and rude to turn it down.......he is going to do the classy thing and accept it in the spirit that it was intended.......

......it's not that the Repubs are beating a dead horse......they are beating a meaningless horse, that no one cares about but them.......and they are looking like a really hateful, spiteful, classless bunch in doing it....

and silenced the same critics.
.....#93 | Posted by crispee_oc

......you and I both know that those critics will never be silenced.......

.....they will continue relentlessly until Obama's last day in office.....

.....the corporate whores are outraged that an American is standing up to their corporate agenda on behalf of the American people........

......later Crispee, gotta go.......

.....I am not ignoring your points, but think, when in your life, did you take a principled stand against any other recipient of a Nobel prize ?.....

Forget it Skizz... You continue to play the broken record and want it to be about Obama and the repubs, or ask about a principle stance on other winners. I can take the hint and concede.

I thought the current administration does not call them terrorists - no war on terror.

Oh good.
The DNC is now taking its rhetoric examples from Karl Rove and Rush limbaugh.

well thats fucking brilliant.

Hey DNC, if the guy who won the award himself doesn't think he deserves it, that should clue you in.

ReFlubLiCONS are sick, disturbed, warped, greedy killers and crooks whom all , without a doubt, totally HATE America and Americans!!

Why don't y'all America Haters move to IRAQ or Somalia already where you can be in your self created ReFlubLiCons Paradise with No Govt, No Laws, No Taxes, No Social Programs, No American pride
- unlimited killing, looting, stealing, exploiting, torturing, enslaving - and then pretend to all be "christians" on Sunday mornings....

"The Republican Party has thrown in its lot with the terrorists -- the Taliban and Hamas this morning -- in criticizing the President for receiving the Nobel Peace prize."

Most of the repubs are just criticizing Obama because he's a democrat, but there IS some legitimate yelling about a POTUS receiving this award so early in his term and after ramping up Afghanistan.

And some of that criticism is coming from the left. This "with us or against us" SHIT was wrong when W's ball suckers did it after 9-11, and it's wrong now.

Fuck you DNC.

Even beyond the rhetoric, it's actually literally true.
Lindsay Graham has not only sided that way, but he has taken measures to forbid any future funding toward convicting those responsible on 9-11.
