Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

This weekend Saturday Night Live opened with Fred Armisen as President Obama, delivering an address from the Oval Office. Noting up front that he'd failed to secure the 2016 Olympic Games for Chicago, Armisen's Obama said it was just further proof that his detractors' fears are unfounded: How could he transform the country into something resembling the former Soviet Union or Nazi Germany when he's failed to accomplish anything at all? "When you look at my record," he said, "it's very clear what I've done so far, and that is nothing."

I wonder how many libs were smart enough to realize this was a satire.

Can you believe CNN is fact checking this skit. What a bunch of morons.

hotair.com

Libs WROTE the skit.

Duh

And yet it was still funny and truthful. Go figure.

Maybe so. But, before you can rebuild a house you have to put out the fires. Only the most dishonest person would submit George W Bush left this country in anything but utter disaster.

"NEW YORK (Reuters) The United States is the most admired country globally thanks largely to the star power of President Barack Obama and his administration, according to a new poll.

It climbed from seventh place last year, ahead of France, Germany, the United Kingdom and Japan which completed the top five nations in the Nation Brand Index (NBI).

"What's really remarkable is that in all my years studying national reputation, I have never seen any country experience such a dramatic change in its standing as we see for the United States for 2009," said Simon Anholt, the founder of NBI, which measured the global image of 50 countries each year."

That's a big one.

Now to try to clean up the plethora of Bush's messes, which are too numerous to mention.

it's this goofball's JOB to clean up bush' messes! if he doesn't get his poop in a group soon, i fear he'll be banished to the jimmy carter hall of shame.

Most Presidents have the job of perhaps cleaning up a room.

If the job was too hard, he didn't have to run.

Why do you think Gore didn't run in 2004 when any honest democrat knew that Kerry was a loser's bet?

Just for fun, we thought we'd go through Saturday Night Live's checklist and match it up with the promises we've rated on the Obameter.

• "Close Guantanamo Bay - Not Done." We've rated Obama's promise No. 177 Close the Guantanamo Detention Center as Stalled. Congress has been reluctant to fund the closure and press reports have indicated progress is not proceeding as the White House had hoped. Still, Obama gave himself a year to get this done, and that's not until January 2010.

• "Out of Iraq - Not Done." Actually, Obama did not promise to have troops out during his first year; he promised to remove them in approximately 16 months. We rated Obama's promise No. 125, Direct military leaders to end the war in Iraq, as Promise Kept and his promise No. 126, Begin removing combat troops from Iraq, as In the Works.

• "Improve Afghanistan - Worse." The promise we've rated on Afghanistan is No. 134, Send two additional brigades to Afghanistan. We've rated this Promise Kept.

• "Health Care Reform - Hell No." We rated Promise No. 433, Sign a "universal" health care bill, as In the Works. With health care legislation pending in Congress, many of Obama's campaign promises about health care reform are rated In the Works.

• "Global Warming - Not Done." One of Obama's top promises on global warming is No. 456, Create cap and trade system with interim goals to reduce global warming. Congress is considering legislation on this, so we've rated it In the Works.

• "Immigration Reform - Not Done." Promise No. 288, Provide a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, is rated No Action.

• "Gays in the military - Not Done." We rated Promise No. 293, Call for repeal of "Don't ask, don't tell" policy, as Stalled.

• "Limits on executive powers - Not Done." We rated promise No. 516, No signing statements to nullify instructions from Congress, as Compromise.

• "Torture prosecutions - Not Done." Obama never promised to prosecute people who tortured terror suspects. He did make promise No. 175, End the use of torture, which we rated In the Works.

• re. Gitmo - a superficial gesture, unless he also closes Bagram, deals fully with our detainees, and stops with the "indefinite detention" bull shit. He has shown that he only cares about head lines in this regard.

• re. Iraq - following the status of forces agreement can hardly be considered accomplishment.

• re. Afghanistan - Obama can't be considered responsible for where this nation is at, just for what course he's taking it now. Instead of pulling out, acknowledging that we haven't much to win there, that it's becoming more and more of a burden, he's escalating. For that, he fails.

• re. Health care reform - real reform would be Medicare for all; he doesn't seem to be really pushing for that, does he?

• re. Global Warming - the cap 'n' trade bill is bull shit, making environmental protection a Wall Street function, while demanding weak fuel efficiency standards, and offering billions of tons of carbon emission allowances. Me thinks it is more about making a buck than protecting the environment. (environemental groups have criticized as well)

• re. Immigration Reform - lol yeah right.

• re. Gays in the military - not much going on here.

• re. Limits on executive powers - minor improvements. Very minor.

• re. Ending torture - will have to wait and see. With his track record on seeking headlines while making very few and only superficial changes regarding the detainees and their rights, I won't be surprised if it comes out that it's still happening.

Excuses are bullshit.

The people didn't vote to hear excuses.

Hear, hear! That was much more eloquent than my oft repeated, "Look forward, not back".

Good job.

Goatman

Your 'look forward, not back' is akin to 'mistakes were made' (Cheney's understatement of the Century on Iraq).

We'll be living with the results of the disastrous Bush presidency for many years to come. First we have to clean up HIS messes. Yes, messes made in the 'past' ... which are why were are experiencing the 'present' problems and will face them for well into the future.

I know all the Obama bashers would love to completely forget about 8 years of disastrous policy that got us where we are. Ask Herbert Hoover about whether history judged him and his policies as the root cause of the Great Depression, or whether it judges FDR for Hoover's mistakes.

We'll be living with the results of the disastrous Bush presidency for many years to come. First we have to clean up HIS messes. Yes, messes made in the 'past' ... which are why were are experiencing the 'present' problems and will face them for well into the future.

#16 | Posted by Timex at 2009-10-06 12:07 AM

You O'tards love focusing on the mess to be cleaned up, and not the solutions being proposed, which are where the criticisms come from.

Afghan a mess left by Bush? Absofuckinglutely! And Obama has done nothing but escalate that unwinnable war.

Housing crisis a mess left by Bush? Absofuckinglutely! But what have Obama and the Dems done to prevent a future housing bubble, if not try to inflate another one?

What mess has Obama managed to actually do anything that could be considered having cleaned it up? Gitmo you say? How 'bout Bagram? Dealing with the detainees, and not continuing our policy of indefinite detention?

Great quote from Colbert. "It's essentially the same stance taken by George Bush," Colbert added, "With one important difference: Obama makes the kids like it."

Thank you, nanc... I was taken slightly out of context.

But someone got a laugh out of it, so it's all good.

"Afghan a mess left by Bush? Absofuckinglutely! And Obama has done nothing but escalate that unwinnable war."

I thought all you right wingers were gung ho on 'surges' so we have a chance at victory. You're calling Afghanistan 'unwinnable', huh? I'd be curious to see your comments from 2002-2008 about Iraq.

Too bad Afghanistan was ignored for so long while the Taliban regained control of over 80% of the country during W's term, isn't it?

We'll be living with the results of the disastrous Bush presidency for many years to come. First we have to clean up HIS messes. Yes, messes made in the 'past' ... which are why were are experiencing the 'present' problems and will face them for well into the future.

WE all know what mistakes were made and who made them. What is the advantage of reflecting on them?

As HC said, Obama knew what he was getting into. If he didn't think he was up to the task, he should not have ever thrown his hat into the ring.

For him to keep saying, "Bush's fault" doesn't fix a thing. If I'm wrong about this, please let me know how him blaming bush is helping to fix the problem.

You're blaming Obama for and/or 'fearing deficits' - which are a DIRECT result of the VERY recent past. 'Deficits' which are only going to get worse with falling tax revenues, 100% higher debt, and 50% higher financial commitments committed to by the previous administration and GOP Congress.

The past is WHY the 'present' and 'future' will run deficits.

I only bring it up because you're constantly harping on Obama and what you 'fear' he'll do.

Give the guy a chance for 4 years, eh? That's only fair.

The people didn't vote to hear excuses.

I don't know about you, but I totally voted for him to hear his unquestioning supporters make excuses for his (expected) short comings in his first year.

It's comedy gold because republicans made the same types of excuses while democrats attacked them for being so "partisan and blind". The country is already fucked, I might as well get a great belly laugh as the ship sinks.

And instead of fixing the fundamentals first...getting the country back on sound money and sound fiscal policy...reducing the size of government (you realize all those government programs and departments and beauracracies cost money right?)...he intends to increase the size of government right from the start.

You can't make this shit up.

"We're going to be running deficits for a long long time because the last guy left us with a shit storm...here's some brand new government programs that are going to make the deficits larger...just remember...it's someone elses fault that they're this big!"

I gave him a chance. He said things were going to be vastly different from the previous administration. Instead things like rendition, the Patriot Act, other various questionable executive orders, lack of transparency, wasteful spending, escalation of wars, not really bringing the troops home from Iraq...the list goes on.

He's had 9 months to address any of the things I listed. He hasn't done it. Times up!

In the last election, I didn't vote for either big party candidate. I'm not voting to "keep the other guy out." That's not a choice to me, especially since both parties have the same agenda by opposite means. If don't like one, I won't like the other. It's funny to see the Barry's clergy losing faith because they asked for this change: instead of taking some action, wrong or right, we do nothing at all.

"For him to keep saying, "Bush's fault" doesn't fix a thing"

goat to be fair.

he doesn't say it as often as libs on the retort.

most of the time, he shoulders the blame on himself.

I supported Ron Paul in the primaries, who favored immediate withdrawal. I see you have no actual answer, just some (false) implication that I suddenly changed my view on it circa Jan. '09. Nice strawman.

Too bad Afghanistan was ignored for so long while the Taliban regained control of over 80% of the country during W's term, isn't it?
#19 | Posted by Timex at 2009-10-06 12:25 AM
It is too bad. Not sure if this is a veiled attempt to once again create some sort of strawman that I am defending Bush (who I have said is the worst president in recent history, while maintaining Obama is average) but I did say he "absofuckinglutely" left Afghanistan a mess.

Again, no actual defenses from you, just strawmen.

You can't sit that long because you're too busy talking out of your ass.

Between Hulu, Ireel, Netflix, and Youtube, who needs TV anymore?

My dual 21 inch monitors can't touch my TV Kanrei.

Family Guy in HD!

My TV is my monitor. 46inch LCD!

I got a Bluray player for my HD needs. Netflix rents them.

I'm going to have to bring my TV to work then.

You have not lived until you played Company of Heroes on a 46 inch screen!

I'm going to have to bring my TV to work then.

Bellsouth and Comcast both offer high speeds for cheaper than Cable.

I am old and an almost married. I only have a Wii these days........

I'm just old. PS3 for me, but the PC on a tv screen was a dream for a while.

The New Motion Control Plus for the Wii is a huge improvement. Golf is worth playing now.

Need more games for it though.

My parents just got a Wii, gonna try it this weekend.

It's addicting. Silly little games that you just can't stop playing. If they don't have the new Motion Plus, buy it for them.

Wii Bowling has done more for the beer industry than 3-man, funnels, and the NFL combined.

Silly little games that you just can't stop playing.

Same here! Sound routed through my graphics card, with a DVI-to-HDMI adapter on the back; hellz yeah!

Still need that really nice wireless desktop set though; the USB extension cables annoy the wife.

I got a cheap wireless mouse and keyboard at Target for about $35. Only 8 foot range though.

So you guys look at posts by Buffalo Bob and Larry Mohr on a 46" screen? Sounds like torture.

I got a cheap logitech set like that, but it's not useful for gaming, since the mouse just isn't responsive enough. Nothing like the mouse-up not being detected, and you being virtually incapacitated while your friends are eaten by zombies.

It magnifies the hilarity.

The 46" screen actually cuts down on accidently reading BoOB because his bullshit is even clearer.

I wanted a 46", but went for dual 24's...

I was a gamer once and still find it handy to have 2 monitors with multiple things going on with both...a friend sent me a WoW trial the other day and I think I may have been sucked into it.

You might as well inject heroin into your carotid... it's that addictive.

WoW has actually killed more people than marijuana.

I've piddled around with the starting quests in Mulgore on a tauren hunter. In reality, it's no different than any other MMO i've played. You need gear, you need levels...only way to get there is the treadmill.

It's disappointing that some games with imaginative ways to gain XP and get equipment never got past alpha development. It's why I always had a soft spot in my heart for games like Team Fortress/Team Fortress Classic.

I think by the time I ding level 20, my 10 day trial will run out and I won't feel like going out to buy the game discs and my days in WoW will end.

As for Obama cleaning up Bush's mess, somebody had to. I saw it and thought the skit was funny.

I remember the right seething over the Palin skits.

Until Mexico invaded...I mean actives their already invaded army.

The battle of San Jacinto (where Texas won her independence from Mexico) lasted 18 minutes. We could do it again. *grin*

BTW, I was there last month. I stood on the very spot (or very, very close) to where Santa Ana signed his surrender to Sam Houston.

The skit should have included the lies this guy tells
Iraq exit leaving 50- 70k troops thereafter 16 months

Health care lie after lie as he makes it up or reads from multiple bills never pinning anyting down. Including the AARP quote only to back track that he miss spoke (bold face lie)

Gitmo has been one big press release with no movement

Clean up politics in Washington but accepts the status quo in every bill so far

Race bating by lying about the Prof Gates arrest until he faces the real facts and then never resolves any thing

He unashamedly supports muslim/Islamists terrorists in their fight to destroy and wipe Israel off the map. He succeeded in giving away over a trillion dollars of our so called wealth in stimalus packages to some what-ever unkown adgenda, and who can say where the money really went?
So we all can truthfully say he has and continues to plot deviously to help bring America down and allow the Muslim/Islamic terrorists an open invitation and foothold to take over Isreal and possibly soon establish Sharia law there, and eventually control of religious beliefs in this country...

Yes all this and much more if his adgenda is not checked will destroy our nation, as a free society, and all this and he was never legally qualified by our constitutional laws to even be a canidate for office to be elected president of the U.S.A and those who signed as witness that he was a leagle resident of the U.S.A knew he was illeagal. He has never leagally proved his place of birth to be in the U.S.A, and has paid millions to squash it..........

i'm glad he's done nothing - that means we still have a chance! do y'all think he'll put more troops in afghanistan? if so, how do you feel about that?

Considering that a Sarah Palin joke on SNL became reality for so many dim-witted democrats (sorry about repeating myself) I can see why the government media complex is so concerned. Can't have people saying "Hell I saw the boy say "I ain't done nothin'" so it must be true like they did with "I can see Russia from my house."

Hope they keep up the good work!

Why? So the chimp can smear the rest of the White House with feces? So he can completely fuck up what remains of this country with his misguided, half-wit policies? How about caging the chimp before he completely ruins the whole house?

Would it KILL him to try to do even a mild vocal impression of Obammy????

Exactly. Without 8-10 "I's or me's" in every sentence, it's a half-assed portrayal.

to suggest that President Obama can solve all the world's problems in nine months is absurd. bushco left a catastrophe to President Obama and we need to give him his full term to determine his effectiveness. Idiots like Nanc and others on this site are so short-termed...bushco took eight years to screw up this country, it'll take a little bit of time to fix all the previous administration's errors.

patience people, patience.

AND CNN FACTCHECKS IT

are you fuckin kidding me.

can anyone archive up all the factchecks done on the palin skits??

I thought not

In the words of the infamous Joker... "Why so serious?"

I think comedy has been propelled, somehow, into the realm of seriousness. Where people quote Palin as saying she can see Russia from her house to Obama has done nothing. When did jokes loose their "just kidding around" function and become topics of fact-checking? Could the acceptance of good humor be lost in the murk of dry political correctness? Or, have programs like the Daily Show (for instance) become accepted as a great source of news maybe desensitizing some to the difference between what's factual and a far stretch from? I'd like to think of America as not being so moronic as to take radio and TV programming like that so seriously, but I guess ya never know. Regardless, we can all just turn the knob to "Off" at any time if we don't like what we see and hear - thankfully.

The creepy part of all this is what things like this point out. There is a clear-cut difference between how supposed respectful media groups handled the Palin jokes vs how it's responding to the Obama jokes. Sure, the righties and leftists have once again momentarily swapped perspectives, but what this shows in regards to the reporting in the US... The "news", our last means of keeping our politicians in check, has been seen freaking out in disbelief that SNL would make jokes about the Prez., and relaxes when Palin is misquoted. Don't get me wrong, this shit swings both ways, but I'd really like to find a station reporting the good 'ol dry facts. Life is boring, and essentially insures news will never be profitable, but it doesn't mean a network should spin the facts to make it entertaining (all the while slipping in their own bias opinions).

Saturday night live is Racist.

For me, the question is what is being fact-checked? If there's a list of things he "hasn't done," why not do a fact-check? It's an interesting way of getting at analysis, or could be. This is different from Palin skits, or might be--I don't claim to have seen them all, but I remember them poking fun at her persona and yes, some things she said, not at accomplishments (or lack thereof).

And yes, I find it amusing and indicative of idiocy of some level (not just of democrats; people of all stripes watch SNL) that the "I can see Russia from my house" crack became a "Sarah Palin quote." But then, Tina Fey does a much better Sarah Palin than this guy does an Obama. : )

You know what I find most interesting about the Obama send-ups? No one has commented on the fact that essentially this guy is doing blackface!

I remember them poking fun at her persona and yes, some things she said, not at accomplishments (or lack thereof).

Most of SNL's Palin skits were using her actual words, not made up ones. That is what made them so funny.

Please post a link of Sarah Palin saying that she could see Russia from her house?

three seconds- google Palin "I can see Russia"

BHO looks like the busiest man in D.C. Only because we see him on TV every day. But what has he really done? Not much. I love that a liberal bastion as SNL has seen the light. The truth hurts the libs, their savior simply is not getting the job done. He is trying to sell us a pig with lipstick called Healthcare reform. BHO is failing our country by not fixing the economy. Unemployment continues to rise, housing is still broke, and credit is still unavailable. At this rate, Palin can walk into the oval office, and do a better job than BHO.

You know what I find most interesting about the Obama send-ups? No one has commented on the fact that essentially this guy is doing blackface!

Perhaps racism really isn't as problematic of issue in our society as we thought... could it be we are, for the most part, simply blind to race until we're reminded of our apparent differences when someone pulls the card or the "news" reports on an assumed race-related crime???

Kanrei,

You should listen to the clip. She says "You can see Russia from land in Alaska." That is a true statement. She did NOT say she could see Russia from her house.

Not like your boy saying he was a Muslim, or there are 57 states.

I am still waiting on that link by the way...or your admission you don't know what you are talking about.

The question asked her was "what qualifies you when dealing with Russia." Her answer was "I can see Russia."

You need help A Cit and I don't take bait from amateur Trolls, so no further responses will follow for you.

Again, you should listen to the link that YOU cite to support the proposition that she said "I can see Russia from my house." you will hear that she said "YOU can see Russia from land in Alaska."

You either know what you are talking about or you don't. You obviously don't.

But since a misrepresentation of what someone says is the gold standard, will you name those other seven states for me? Hope you enjoy your Muslim president.

"Perhaps racism really isn't as problematic of issue in our society as we thought... could it be we are, for the most part, simply blind to race until we're reminded of our apparent differences when someone pulls the card or the "news" reports on an assumed race-related crime???"

Oh, it's definitely still a problem. I see it often--right here in rural northern New England. As for "as problematic... as we thought," I don't know.

But I find it fascinating that no one has brought it up--the SNL bit. It wasn't so long ago when Ted Danson got in trouble for appearing in blackface at a Friars roast...

Maybe it's 'cause Obama ain't really black? (ducking fast)

"Not like your boy saying he was a Muslim, or there are 57 states."

When did he say the former? I know he said the latter, but people say shit all the time extemporaneously when wrong; I'm pretty certain that a constitutional scholar knows how many states there are. But I'd like to see a link on Obama asserting that he's a Muslim. (And if you bring up Charlie Gibson, that interview, I'll have to slap you. Er, I'd have to suggest that you hold yourself to the same standards you're trying to hold Kanrei to.)

Please explain this for us, A Cit, since you seem to support Palin on this issue: "The question asked her was "what qualifies you when dealing with Russia." Her answer was "I can see Russia."

How does the fact that you can see Russia from some uninhabitable tip of some island in the Bering Sea qualify you to deal with russia? Be specific.

Another birther turd to ridicule. How fun!

He "paid millions to squash it"??

Tell me genius, where did he get all of these millions? He sold two books and made about 5 million and according to tax filings, still has much of it. So, tell us all, where did it come from? Do you honestly think people gave him millions when he was a Senator for the purpose of covering this up? You actually think that donors would risk his eligibility status being found out and losing their "millions'?

Also, how many millions does it cost to rent the time machine to go back and place the birth announcement in the paper?

How does the fact that you can see Russia from some uninhabitable tip of some island in the Bering Sea qualify you to deal with russia? Be specific.

Monte, I didn't say that it did. Certainly no more than being a community agitator qualifies you to be president. What I said was she did not say "I can see Russia from my house."

Pragmatist,

I was actually referencing the Charlie Gibson interview. (..."my Muslim Religion"....) The difference between Kanrei and myself...Obama actually DID say the words that I am poking fun at him for. Sarah did not. If in a moment of stupidity she had, I would not defend her for the statement.

"no more than being a community agitator"

Riiiiiiiiiiiiight. Let's ignore Columbia, and Harvard, and The Law Review, and a Constitutional Professor, and a State Senator, and a US Senator.

The guy could have written his own ticket. Instead, he took a job making other people's lives better for 1/10th the pay. And for that, he gets derision.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiight. Let's ignore Columbia, and Harvard, and The Law Review, and a Constitutional Professor, and a State Senator, and a US Senator.

Everything counts but the US Senator as he was running for President during the bulk of his first and only term.

A citizen-
re: What I said was she did not say "I can see Russia from my house."

You are correct. This is what Palin said in detailing her foreign policy credentials, and regarding when "Putin rears his head" over Alaska:

We have trade missions back and forth. We-- we do-- it's very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia as Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where-- where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border. It is-- from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right there. They are right next to-- to our state.

How does the fact that you can see Russia from some uninhabitable tip of some island in the Bering Sea qualify you to deal with russia? Be specific.

It doesn't one bit. It definitely shows how bad she is at side-stepping direct questions she doesn't have the answers to - unlike so many politicians who appear to almost gloat over how good they are in their use of lawyer-like semantics and misdirection. But, that isn't the point. I think we're talking about how frantic everyone is getting over this... like they're afraid people are going to start believing the prez. IS indeed doing nothing.
Maybe that's why the impersonation didn't resemble or sound at all like OB... surely ya don't want people to get the idea that it's really him, and being "America is full of idiots", you can't leave stuff like that to chance.

"Everything counts but the US Senator"

Not to A_Citizen. All Obama ever was is a "community agitator".

Although in Obama's defense, he was a co-sponsor on several bills in his short tenure.

"Let's ignore Columbia, and Harvard, and The Law Review, and a Constitutional Professor, and a State Senator, and a US Senator"

Danforth -

Your right. Yale graduate, Harvard MBA, Lt. in the Air National Guard, Owner of a Major Baseball team, owner of several oil companies, and Governor of the State of Texas. I am sure you agree that he is more than a "chimp", in fact - with that resume, he was much more qualified for the job than your boy.

Fucking hilarious. Half of your melodramatic douchebags think Obama has "done nothing," while the other half thinks he's ruined America as we know it. Which is it, ladies?

#96 | Posted by mOntecOre

Maybe it's because he's ruining America by doing nothing. He hasn't made a serious tough decision since taking office. He prefers to let problems wait in the wings and go unattended to, much like Afghanistan has. This is not a recipe for success for the leader of the free world. He has got to start making decisions.

Say all you want about George W Bush but at least he would make a decision and stick behind it. Even if it wasn't the best choice at the time he still made moves and backed them up. You just can't say that for Obama. He's the absent president.

to suggest that President Obama can solve all the world's problems in nine months is absurd.

patience people, patience.

#104 | Posted by buckeyenutlover

True, but 9 months is plenty time to have made some tough decisions and got things moving in any direction. It's almost like he's scared to make a call. The country is waiting for decisions as well as the military and he just keeps brushing them to the side. 9 months is plenty of time to have enacted several plans for what he thinks should be done. Every day that passes is another day where America and the military sit at a stand still. If you think that's good for America you are wrong.

Say all you want about George W Bush but at least he would make a decision and stick behind it.

Yes. Bush was firmly dedicated to leaving Afghanistan and Iraq and a wrecked domestic economy to a future president and a future generation. I'll give him that.

October 7, 2009 (AP) Egypt - Al Jazeera reports SNL Obama skit video reaches 50,786,344 hits and causes servers to crash.

Say all you want about George W Bush but at least he would make a decision and stick behind it.

So did that welsh guy who chopped off his twig and berries.

Conservatives are celebrating. Na na na na na

Mystery-
What are you celebrating?

Makes one wonder how the actual man came up so short compared to his resume. According to wiki he is the only president to have had an MBA. That seemed incredible.

Yale graduate- C average
Harvard MBA- C average
Lt. in the Air National Guard- AWOL
Owner of a Major Baseball team- One year and sold it
Owner of several oil companies- most if not all failed
Governor of the State of Texas- one term

Is the the GOP standard of excellence?

Fucking hilarious. Half of your melodramatic douchebags think Obama has "done nothing," while the other half thinks he's ruined America as we know it. Which is it, ladies?

Dubya ruined America. Obama is maintaining the status quo, which is doing nothing. Is it really that hard to figure out?

"Dubya ruined America. Obama is maintaining the status quo, which is doing nothing. Is it really that hard to figure out?"

Fine. You're in the "no change", "more of the same", "George W. Obama", etc., rtard camp, along with RiR and some others.

That's opposed to the "radical leftist/neo-communist/marxist" rtard camp that includes Murphy, Pinochet Mao, Tadowe, etc.

You folks should have a debate.

Is the the GOP standard of excellence?

If you are going to judge the entire party by one person, I'd say "no".

Can I cherry pick one person to judge the Democrats by, or is that unfair?

Sure... you cherry pick your dem, I'll cherry pick my con, and we can both conclude that the political system of the USA is fucked.

Proper fucked.

...we can both conclude that the political system of the USA is fucked.

Amen to that, brother.

I want the rise of a third party sooo badly. . . .

It's all fucked. I will be an asshole and keep voting for the Rep. Presidential candidate because it'll cancel the asshole who always votes Dem.

Whatever. Fuck the system it's broke, busted, done.

As long as the Cardinals win tonight, which they will come back and do so.

Cardinal fans are ghey.

Ahahahaha null. Who are you a fan of? Yeah the Cards aren't looking so hot in game one.

Fucking Carpenter, man. WTF.

And Null I'm hoping you say you are a fan of the Nationals or Orioles or something so I can make fun of your sports team, so please don't be a fan of a team that is actually good like the Yankees.

Dodgers and Angels, Andy.

Damnit. I've got nothing then. Good luck to ya, hope the Angels destroy the Red Sox (I'm sick of seeing people in Central Illinois wearing freaking Red Sox hats.)

About time Obama is exposed by SNL....

Alright Kanrei -

How did your boy do at Yale? Oh, that's right, he didn't go.

As to the oil business. You are right. they all failed. How many times has your boy worked in the private sector? Has he ever had to make payroll? No. Agitators simply agitate. Their followers are either volunteers or derive compensation from looting.

Governor for one term - It is comforting to me that you continue to have such a solid grasp of the facts. Bush won his FIRST term in 1994 and was RE-ELECTED in 1998 with 65% of the vote. He won the Presidency in the middle of his second term. I know, I know...it would be a tough choice for anyone, but he chose the Presidency. To his credit he only spent one year of his term running for president, your boy started running as soon as he made it to the Senate.

Finally, my favorite, the AWOL allegation. The same allegation that cost Dan Rather his job. The same allegation that has never been proven. But while we are on the topic of allegations that have been repeatedly proven false...have you heard your boy wasn't born in the US? I'll bet you also think that Palin said she could see Russia from her house.

"Oh, that's right, he didn't go."

He went to Columbia and then Harvard.

It's not called the Ivy League for nothing.

Hagbard,

Actually, he went to Occidental College for two years. He then transferred to Columbia.

#154

And this supports your point how?

Hagbard,

Merely making the record speak the truth. I don't recall that Occidental is a part of the "ivy league" but I could be wrong.

Hey I'm a transfer student! It's actually the smarter way to go. What more could Gen Eds teach you at Harvard than they would at Occidental?

Andy,

That would be like going to the local junior college for two years and graduating from the "ivy league" and acting like you were there for the whole time. You and I both know that the first two years at a college are generally "weed out" periods. It is very difficult to fail out after the second year.

Law school is the same way. The first year and a half makes you wonder why you are doing this...after the half way mark, your are home free.

" You and I both know that the first two years at a college are generally "weed out" periods."

He said "weed." Heh heh. Hah hah. Heh.

Dude, the first 2 years of college aren't classes specific to your major. I think his major was Poli Sci? and the 2 years he spent at real college probably would've 'weeded him out' if he wasn't up to the task.

I went to community college in town here cause it was so cheap and those first 2 years were bullshit gen ed classes, doesn't and shouldn't make my degree any less effective when I get it.

AND CNN FACTCHECKS IT

#105 | Posted by afkabl2 at 2009-10

well its been a day or two and I still havent read about cnn fact checking any other comedy routines.
I guess snl's mistake was questioning the 'great teleprompter reader's " job performance and did it on nbc which is the biggest obama ass kisser in media

"doesn't and shouldn't make my degree any less effective when I get it."

100% agreement. ACIT was just trying to make the claim that Obama's educational Pedigree wasn't as significant as Bush's.

Haha, man, I wish I could get C's at Yale rather than B's at Illinois State University, but I wouldn't use Bush as the poster child for academic success.

Andy,

Truthfully, I wish that I had the OPPORTUNITY to make C's at Yale or Harvard as opposed to what I got where I attended.

I believe that you can get whatever education you really want at the university level.....in most cases....or rather in most of the standard disciplines may be a better way to say it....

but let me ask some of you

did college REALLY prepare you for your chosen field????

AFK, I'm a current student and I'm just doing what I need to do to get a degree and get a commission. So no, it will not be to great of a benefit besides being a piece of paper to help make more money.

"That would be like going to the local junior college for two years and graduating from the "ivy league" and acting like you were there for the whole time.

#158 | Posted by A_Citizen"

So in your little mind Occidental is the same as a junior college? You're an idiot.

AFK,

Absolutely not. College is like boot camp. It teaches you how to think and how to do the things you need to do. It does not teach you how to function in the "real world". Similarly, law school teaches you a lot about theory, but a law graduate could not initiate a law suit because most of them don't even know where to go int he courthouse or what instruments need to be filed. (Hence the title of "Constitutional law professor" is neither impressive nor is it a qualification to me either. He has a JD just like I do. He gets an LDD and I might be a bit more impressed. If he were to have the experience of any of the big nine, I would be impressed.)

HOORAY for Obama doing NOTHING! WE can't afford the cost of his agenda to our pocketbooks or our freedoms.

As for this healthcare thing, once they have our bodies under their total control, game over. Forget the Constitution and our God given rights as protected by the Bill of Rights.
