NY Cop Kills Pedestrian After Drinking

It took New York authorities more than seven hours to draw blood from an accused drunken cop who killed a preacher's daughter while driving back to a bar for more booze, the New York Daily News reports.

Cops in NYC get away with drunk driving every time... unless it ends in a fatality.

I remember when I was a kid, my friend's dad was a cop in brooklyn who used to drive around with empty cans all over the car. He used to laugh about getting pulled over all the time, showing the badge, and warned to get home safely.

This officer was given 7 hours before he was asked for a blood test, the test was negative. There fore this officer was, at the time of the test NOT DRUNK......If this was an average citizen would he or her be given 7 hours to take a blood test????? HELL NO!!!!! THIS IS MURDER, not just Drunk Driving, This PIG should be charged with Murder, but because he is a White Police officer an he KILLED a Black Woman, the POLICE Association will probable ask for Probation after all he has such a stressful Job!!!! HOW LONG WILL THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ESPECIALLY THE BLACK COMMUNITY HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THIS SHIT????????

A friends brother was driving wasted a few years ago and killed a car full of four or five young black girls on long island. The cops waited hours to give him a breathalyzer too, so by that time his BAC was below .08. It probably does happen more often for cops though.

OK, forget for a second that you have no idea when to use "an" or "and" (and this isn't an isolated incident), I'd like to thank you for pointing out the officer was white and the so called victim was black.
Prior to knowing that I was going to say the cop should face the death penalty. What a mistake that would have been.

Who was the Kennedy driving on the sidewalks on DC, high on pills and whatever, and when the DC cops pull him over he doesn't even get a citation? About a year ago, I think.

The cop will live with this tragedy forever. If
alcohol was involved, the PC police will see that his life is ruined on top of everything else.

So what did he blow after 7 hours? If it was a 00,
he couldn't have been impaired 7 hours prior. Let's get some facts before the nooses come out.

LOL. Prevalent? Don't think so. Racists are looked at as backward ass, inbred hicks. In places where racism is prevalent, it is the norm. There are such places. The entirety of North America can't be counted among them.

As for the story, the killer is going down but I'd like to know what happens to the cops who protected this guy.

It's astonishing that blood was not taken much sooner. In CT any m/v accident from which a fatality results blood draw is mandatory even if impairment is not suspected. Chemical tests must be administered within two hours of suspected operation. I don't know the law in NY.

Even after seven hours, however, if his BAC was zero, his level of impairment could not have been significant at the time of the accident. If this accident did not involve an off-duty cop, I'm sure we'd not be reading about it. So far, although it looks like the public condemnation has already occurred, this was a tragic accident.

Yes, there are alot of people in NA so there are alot of racists. They are still a minority. Prevalent would mean that racist practices are widely accepted, which simply is not true. They are not accepted legally or morally by the majority of North Americans.

I don't see how any whole continent could be considered mostly racist but if you were going to rank them, North America would be least racist next to Antartica.

2) Where in the article does it identify the victim as a black woman? Or did you just jump to conclusions like you always do?

Not sure about NY...but I handle DOT / FMCSR info for truck drivers. Regs state an alcohol test should be admin within 2 hours of acc. if fatality or if ticket is rec'd by driver. Controlled substance testing is to be done within 8 hours if ticket is rec'd by driver AND either a vehicle is towed or a person is transported by ambulance for medical treatment.

Wonder why it should be any different for cops than the rest of us? If it was any of us little people, we'd still be in jail trying to raise bond.

BTW - race doesn't have anything to do with this discussion. Drunks don't care who they kill - most of them don't remember doing it the next morning.
