The Detroit Lions ended their 19-game losing streak by holding off the Washington Redskins 19-14 Sunday.

Matthew Stafford(notes) threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Bryant Johnson(notes) in the first quarter and the two connected to draw a key penalty to set up a TD in the fourth quarter.

The Lions (1-2) had not won since Dec. 23, 2007 and their skid matched the second longest in NFL history.

ROTFLMAO! The game was blacked out in Detroit and nearby markets!

This news should be up front, on top, with big letters. It's not often the Lions win a game.

I thought of picking the Lions straight up, but chickened out. I did take the Lions in another pool with the points.

For pro athletes who are used to excelling that had to be eating at them. I'd not want to be on that Redskins plane ride home.

looks like the browns are planning no taking their place at the bottom of the league.

week 1: 20 to 34 (not bad, at least in the neighborhood)
Week 2: 6-27 ouch. that hurts.
Week 3: 3-34 this is not at all a good trend.
