Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

A Decatur, Ill., man has been arrested on charges of trying to blow up the federal courthouse in Springfield. Michael Finton, who also went by the name Talib Islam, has been arrested on charges of allegedly trying to set off a car bomb outside an Illinois courthouse. Undercover agents provided him with the fake bomb.

I wished like hell they would bust up the Al Gebra Ring of Errors.. That would be sweet.

Larry

wait... so they went to a guy they didn't like... and bait him into joining al qaeda?

fishy as hell.

it sounded like the fed informant pretended to be al qaeda and convinced finton to join with him to be a jihadist.

isn't that called entrapment?

Kliff, it sounds pretty similar to the case in New York a few months ago. It will be interesting to see these cases get to court. I have to believe the defense will be claiming entrapment.

Yes, the men in both cases had a predisposition to this type of crime. The question in my mind is would they have actually resorted to breaking the law if not for the shove they were giving from government agents.

I'm very interested in these two cases as well as the men arrested in N. Carolina. Two of those men were charged today for plotting to attack the Marine base in Quantico.

Terrorist cells in America!! They're EVERYWHERE!! Riiiiight..

At least that's what the current Administration wants us to believe....

All of these cases are merely homegrown contingency operators

Oh and he's a friend of Johnny Taliban, must be AOK.

If it's a fake bomb, what was the actual crime? This reminds me of the time Boston got pwned by Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

"He said that, while they were doing everything they could to avoid collateral civilian casualties, such casualties would be inevitable and justified," the complaint said.
That's exactly what we say every time we bomb a wedding party or school in Afghanistan.

wait... so they went to a guy they didn't like... and bait him into joining al qaeda?

You have to wonder.

There is a difference between arresting an aspiring militant and convincing a moron to become a militant and then arresting him. One would hope the government isn't in the entrapment business anymore.

The 9/11 Commission Rejects own Report as Based on Government Lies
Gordon Duff Salem-News.com

How long have we watered the Tree of Deceit with the blood of patriots?

(CINCINNATI, Ohio) - In John Farmer's book: "The Ground Truth: The Story Behind America's Defense on 9/11″, the author builds the inescapably convincing case that the official version... is almost entirely untrue...

www.salem-news.com

The 9/11 Commission now tells us that the official version of 9/11 was based on false testimony and documents and is almost entirely untrue. The details of this massive cover-up are carefully outlined in a book by John Farmer, who was the Senior Counsel for the 9/11 Commission.

Farmer, Dean of Rutger Universities' School of Law and former Attorney General of New Jersey, was responsible for drafting the original flawed 9/11 report.

One would hope the government isn't in the entrapment business anymore.

They routinely entrap people with kiddie porn.

I suspect the rationale for this entrapment is identical -- the threat is so grave that the end justifies the means.

Anti-Israel? Anti-war? Sounds like an Obama supporter to me. Is that why some of you libs are complaining about entrapment? If anyone is going through with what they think is setting off a 1-ton bomb to kill innocent people then they need to be off the street and in prison for life.

What are you worried about Dems...that you may be "entrapped" to do the same thing against America?

And so this American caught intent on blowing up a federal building is just part of a false flag operation?

what's your fucking point?

If anyone is going through with what they think is setting off a 1-ton bomb to kill innocent people then they need to be off the street and in prison for life.

I agree, but what's the firebombing of the MOVE headquarters got to do with this?

"Finton allegedly told the agent he was considering attacks on government buildings, banks and police stations in the hope an attack would cause the U.S. military to withdraw from conflicts overseas, according to the charges. But he finally turned his attention to the Paul Findley Federal Building, authorities said."

If this is true then the alternative to "entrapping" him would be to wait until he actually killed people and then arrest him for it. And if he already had the idea and followed through on it when presented with the (fake) opportunity, why are some of you pretending that he might not have done so? I personally don't feel anyone's freedom is being infringed upon because they'll be arrested if they can be "tricked" into becoming a mad bomber. Unless the accused is insane or mentally retarded, I don't even see how one could claim he was fooled into choosing mass killer as a career.

Sue those Stingers ACORN style! They entrapped the bomber.

YEEEEEHHHAWWWWWWW!

What made you exclude BushCo? Are you a neocon supporter? Did you vote for BushCo and did you approve the invasions and wars?

Dude, you need to get a massage. Or see a doctor. Get some counseling and maybe some new meds.

To me they are all the same....but jeeze, wtf?

Oh wait, a robot...I see, stimulus/response is limited. I guess you contribute to MoveOn.Org, one of today's (and yesterday's)most obvious Oxymorons.

>>>is this where I insert the gratuitous insult?

===================

The POINT is that we see no change. B.O. wants "tweaking" to the Patriot Act. Wants to retain custody of the alleged terrorists. Afghanistan. Seems to me he's continuing many of the policies of the previous Administration he said he was going to change.

But on the other hand, he IS doing a great job at flushing the country down the debt toilet much faster than ANY previous Administration.

Sure. I can never forget that time when President Obama proclaimed that an invasion of Iraq was necessary because: "Facing clear evidence of peril, we cannot wait for the final proof -- the smoking gun -- that could come in the form of a mushroom cloud" and that "The regime has long-standing and continuing ties to terrorist organizations, and there are Al Qaeda terrorists inside Iraq". Classic Barack!

You're totally, chock-full of bullcrap, "Prof".

Well,
I guess you know bullcrap, bot, since you seem to be stuck in place.

It is so cool when it is so obvious that folks like you have nothing to add to a conversation but instead insist on trying to divert it to another topic. Their cupidity outweighs their stupidity.

Congrats. You get a free membership to moron.org.

What stop a TERROR plot without using the U.S. Army, who would have taught. Maybe there is something to fighting these Terrorist using LAW ENFORCEMENT as the lead. Once again the Democratic Administration saves AMERICA from the evil Terrorist something the Bush administration could not not on 9/11............

I fully admit that doesn't take a genius to put you in your place.

You should really consider how your statement regarding President Obama's administration propagandizing to the public that terrorists are "everywhere" is quite simply, plainly and obviously wrong.

I've shown you the true culprits are BushCo from their own transcripted material.

Otherwise, I'm certain that your a simpleton, a neocon supporter and undoubtedly voted for BushCo both times - and McCain/Palin for the third. You're probably a zany Zionist too since they are the two shittiest flavors that are often found in the same shitcream sandwich.

the FBI really knew they were on to something when phone records indicated that Talib Islam was in Osama Bin Laden's fav 5 calling circle...
