Ex-Aide: Edwards Fathered Child

Andrew Young, a former aide of John Edwards who once claimed to have fathered the child of John Edwards' mistress, claims in a new book proposal that the former presidential candidate is the real father. He also says that he and Edwards worked with his campaign finance chairman to hide that secret.

I love to Edwards story. John Edwards was close to the VP slot, so close. And the L.A. Times covered for him in vain, so sad.

Edwards is a typical Class 2 Liberal.

Class 1 Liberals (servant idealist class) are told by the Class 2 Liberals (elite ruling class) that profits and greed are sinful. The Class 1 Liberals (servant idealist class) must then must blind themselves to their leaders hypocrisy.

But John got outed by the ENQUIRER.

If I was writing about Wallace Reid Edwards you might have a legitimate grievance. But I wasn't. John Edwards was (an for some may still be) a Class 2 Liberal.

I don't care if Edwards fathered 100 bastard kids. I liked his humorous candidacy though, with his $400 haircuts and claims of hundreds of thousands of veterans sleeping under bridges. That "two Americas bullshit" was some funny stuff too. The "Breck Girl" was almost as funny as Algore and John Kerry.

The demonstration of merit is not essential to Class 1 Liberals. So my answer would be no, the elite ruling Class 2 Liberals are not part of a meritocracy.

You skipped a few things. His father was once a "floor worker", then got promoted up the chain, eventually becoming the mill's production manager.

IMHO, if you make it to the US Senate, you're in the "elite ruling class". At least they pretend to think so.

This is not news.

While not a 'non-issue", this SHOULD be a 'trival' issue for purposes of election. (Edwards skimping out on SUPPORT of the child would have been more serious....)

I did not care that Bill liked (or perhaps 'likes') young women that 'smoke cigars'.

I view the attempted cover ups the two men made as foolish, and ONLY foolish, law be damned.

DOMESTICLY, both men are trash, and their WIVES have good cause to rake them over hellfire, but as for the rest of us, IT IS SIMPLY NOT A POLICY ISSUE.

Something like this does factor in however because it shows their commitment to commitment and how true they keep to their word. If they cheat on the mother of their children, then there is little reason not to expect them to cheat on the citizens of their country.

exactly. Do we not discuss how much our elected leaders are telling the truth? That their actions reflect their words? That they support policies that we consider "moral" and they represent our "values"??(of course, it has to reflect OUR values for it to have meaning)

Cheating on his wife was bad enough, but then it also appears he inappropriately used funds he shouldn't have to keep this child's father a secret.

People do make mistakes but they also need to be consequences for them.

My heart breaks for Edwards wife and children.
