Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday that the anti-government rhetoric over President Barack Obama's health care reform effort is concerning because it reminds her of the violent debate over gay rights that roiled San Francisco in the 1970s.

OK.. all of you astute political observers take note: New Democratic Party talking points being presented.. people that oppose government run health care are inciting murder.

I guess "astroturf" is now out of favor, and the racist charge seems to be losing steam.. so .. now .. inciting murder.. let's try that one.

You lefties will like Ms Pellman's puff piece here on the great and compassionate speaker Pelosi.

i fail to see how she can even compare those involved in the 70's to the patriots of today - for one thing, those she's speaking of are more than likely the same loons who keep voting for her. TEApublicans have had few incidents of violence. nancy's scared. good.

"Pathetic Liar Pelosi Tears Up Talking About Protest Violence"

"That's weird. The only violence reported at the anti-Obamacare protests this year came from SEIU and Leftist thugs beating on conservatives."

gatewaypundit.blogspot.com

Pelosi lives in her own preconceived little world...far from reality.

She's tried everything else and now she's going to cry. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

She wasn't crying about the violence. She was crying because she sees now that she's not going to get her way.

Call her a Waaaaambulance.

I thought she sounded genuine, which surprised me.

And I didn't even vote for Obama, but the rhetoric coming from you and yours freaks me out.

Hagbard,

You can be totally sincere and still be melodramatic and unreasonable.

To correct some of those on the right though:

She wasn't talking about violence that has occurred. She was talking about violence that she suggests WILL occur due to the rhetoric being used on the right.

However, I think she needs to spend less time addressing the perceived problems on the right and address her own house (not House as in Congress). The violence from that side isn't hypothetical. It has occurred on multiple occasions via the SEIU and ACORN thugs.

Isn't defunding ACORN and the Baucus bill a big enough FU to those groups for you?

Well, lets see. If the Mafia was getting choice contracts in connection with corrupt practices, would it be enough for you just to see that one aspect of their business dried up? Or, like me, would you want to see a serious effort to bust ALL of their corrupt enterprises and shut them down?

I think this is a good start if you take it on face value, but I don't think it should end there. So no, it isn't enough to suit me.

In addition, I think this is a token move. I wouldn't be surprised, as was already suggested, that the funding will continue buried in labyrinthine bill... most likely not to ACORN directly but to one of their many front organizations.

Your mafia analogy jumps into extreme hyperbole. ACORN and SEIU don't engage in murder, as far as I'm aware, Mooma.

Racketeering and widespread corruption is enough warrant giving an organization the axe. Murder need not be a part of it. Notice I never suggested murder in my example, merely the corruption. Your murder argument was a straw man.

Fire Chief Pelosi. She shows up at a small fire with a firehose and a tanker full of gasoline.
