A class act all the way.

If I Had A Hammer

Awww...RIP Mary!

Thanx for the tunes and memories, Mary (*sigh*)

Time for some great leftie classics...

www.youtube.com

And for a great, apolitical tune...

www.youtube.com

puff!

It probably wasn't about weed, but a 420 anthem nevertheless...

www.youtube.com

She resides now in Honalee.

Another great leftie classic...

The Leukemia finally took her down, eh?

Damn.

Deth is sad Spud now.

Long Time Passing

RIP Mary Travers.

You were a singularity.

A wonderful talent and a beautiful person.

Be Well.

On both the Left and the Right

A silent moment of unity.

And while none of us, despite the courage of faith or conv iction can say for absolute certain if there is a hereafter,

I hope I get to a place where I can hear Jimi, Janice, Brian, Jim, Moon, Bonham, Entwistle et al are jamming and I'm enjoying a glass of Makers at a table up front just digging it.

She was a fine performer, and a part of many lives.

Be well Mary.

(snif)

One of my favorites --

"In The Early Morning Rain" - Peter, Paul and Mary

Thanks for so many great songs and memories.

The jet plane finally left.

RIP

Rest in peace, Mary. You will be sorely missed.

Here is one of my favorite songs when I was kid. I used to listen to it over and over on 8 track.

The Unicorn Song

Listening to that brought back many memories.

"...leaving on a jet plane..."

Sometimes You Feel Like A Nut...

Sometimes You Don't...

Sorry you're leaving, Mary. Thanks for spending some time and giving us the gift of soaring dreams.

So long, Mary. Thanks for singing about the love between my brothers and sisters all over this world.

I was part of a folk group in high school.. and we used to sit and listen to Peter, Paul, and Mary for hours trying to work out the harmonies..

One of the more interesting songs they did, later in their careers, which was a spoof... "I love rock and roll music" "If I really say it, the radio won't play it"

RIP

R.I.P. Mary. Don't Think Twice, It's Alright...

If I had a hammer,
I'd hit you in the head.

One of my favorite songs by PP&M...

Please NO politics............. She was a Great Lady for all. I hope her jet plane takes her peacefully to honalee.

'Bye Mary-thanks for stopping for by for awhile to share your gift with us.
See you on the other side.

#22 - NMG NO - that's funny, I didn't know till I read her obit that that song was a spoof. I thought it was just terribly corny and dated. "I could really get it in on that scene..." - LOL

Mary was born in my hometown so there's an extra helping of sadness around here this morning. Nice harmonies and nice people. Rest in peace, Mary T.

try again - "I could really get it on in that scene..."

Peter Paul and Mommy was a classic childrens album. Timeless. The marvelous toy still brings tears to my eyes.

She was on the wrong side of many political topics but that won't matter to her now.

The wrong side for you, not for her. : )

Agreed on Marvelous Toy--I _love_ that song.

They were a great group. She will be missed by many.

They sucked. 1 down, 2 to go.

101,
You're an asshole. Not that this is news to anyone here.

News to me. An "asshole" is an empty space, and 101 certainly has a physical presence, thus his ability to type.

Which one was the kid diddler? Peter or Paul?

Hey cupcake,
Check this one out...

Hahahahahahaha!

If you have young children, definitely pick up a copy of "Peter, Paul, and Mommy". Superb album for young and old.

RIP Mary.

Obama's fault and the Democrats.

If they had passed the health bill earlier this year, this could have been prevented.

Heck, they had control of the House for two years under Bush and not once did they pass a Health Bill to save poor Mary.

Artists that use their fame to promote truth, justice and democracy are awesome.

Mary is one of those heroines and John Lennon tops them all.

#23- That's a Bob Dylan song first and foremost.

She was on the wrong side of many political topics but that won't matter to her now.

She stood for freedom and equality for all people--like our Constitution says, but was rarely adhered to. She tried to help America stand up for its stated position of freedom and equality---I understand your opposition.

She was a good singer... 40 years ago.

Great memories.... what harmony that group..
she stood tall and was quite a vocal talent..
and, quite a lady...!!!! classy individual..

I'm a rightwing believe in GOD and His Son Jesus, conservative, capitalist, anti-nazi, anti-marxist, anti-communist, anti- socialist, homophobe, but there are no laws against being anti-, but, I really liked alot of their music.

Rest in the Arms of the Lord Mary, you now know His divine plan.

I knew I'd find common ground with most of the poster's on DR. I too will miss Mary. And I love what MSGT wrote, "She resides now in Honalee." Say hi to Puff.
