Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

I like to contribute to the blog and try to come up with a original headline, but for the last five or six times, or more, Mr. Rogers seems to think his is better, granted it is his blog, but why go to all the trouble. Let's just use generic terms and make this blog a sterile, static, bleached, and PC place where creativity is frowned upon. I'd rather my posts stay on the back page than go to the front page and the headline looks like something from CNN.

Static journalism: What it is.

Dynamic journalism: What it is doing, and what it may become.

I try to leave headlines alone, but often headlines don't convey the news of a story or they express a really strong bias towards one side. The front page is more news-oriented than the back page.

The wording of the headline on your post?
THAT'S what's got your panties all twisted up?
Geez-you sound like a 7 year old girl.

You're not that important get over yourself asshole.

Freedom of the press belongs to the owner of the ink and paper, rcade. No doubt.
But you have no problem with "a really strong bias" in Page 1 headlines with which you agree.

Here's a headline.

Dxlingr ia a whiny gash.

Get over yourself.

"is a"

Exhibit 1:

"Repubs Send Heckler $750,000"

Exhibit 2:

"Heckler Funded Health Care for Illegal Immigrants"

It's not your slant that nauseates, rcade. It is your pretense of objectivity.

Go light a candle for Father Geoghan's soul, you sniveling queef.

No pretense of objectivity there, rein.
What is a "queef" for goodness sake?

Diablo,

Are you objecting to the use of the word heckler? Wilson himself isn't. It's helped him raise a million bucks.

I don't object at all, Gal-T. Racade is entitled to his view on his website. I merely point out he is not objective. I admire rcade for starting and maintaining this excellent website.

If he wasn't a heckler, Wilson would just be another Congressional Joe, known to folks in his district and perhaps the state of SC but not to the nation as a whole.

BTW, if you called him an asshole and he raised a million, would that make "asshole" a compliment?

What is a "queef" for goodness sake?

It's a pussy fart, you queef.

FWIW, RCade has changed my headline on a number of occasions.

How do you think RCade's headlines rate on the objectivity scale when compared, for example, to Matt Drudge's board?

BTW, if you called him an asshole and he raised a million, would that make "asshole" a compliment?

Wilson apologized for heckling Obama during the speech. He didn't apologize for being an asshole.

LOL! No politician apologizes for that, Gal!
I rarely read the Drudge Report because the headline selection is too pointed. I do, however, use it as a jumping point to other media. The links are great.

Unless of course the article is another attack on Bush or Cheney. Then anything goes on the headline.

Oh, Jerry? Thanks for the suggestion. I am on my way to Mass in a minute and will light a candle for that sick individual's soul. I want no one, even you or him, in hell.
Well, maybe Curtis LeMay.....

"granted it is his blog, but why go to all the trouble."

Oh, Gawd, this is such a sad tale of woe. Please pass the hankies.

Diablo, I see the headlines "Repubs Send Heckler $750,000" and "Heckler Funded Health Care for Illegal Immigrants" as factual. Everybody knows the guy as the Congressman who heckled Obama. It's even a point of pride for many Republicans that he heckled him. If I called him Wilson instead a large chunk of the audience would have no idea who it referred to.

Unless of course the article is another attack on Bush or Cheney. Then anything goes on the headline.

I challenge you to come up with examples. When a headline expresses a strong viewpoint, I include the last name of the person who said it.

It's not your slant that nauseates, rcade. It is your pretense of objectivity.

I have never claimed to be objective -- I think that's a false standard. I try to be fair.

Headlines get changed all the time around here. So what?

I mean, you can always just tell Rogers you've decided not to subscribe any longer because he's violated the terms of the sales contract and you want your prorated refund deposited into your PayPal account.

Headlines r fun!

Consider it a compliment if Rcade picks up ur story for the front pages.

Then u can repost ur 'special' headlines as many times as u want to a certified international audience ~ worthy of prime time delux!

And complain & complain & complain therein about how unfair life is (& has been) to u:>)

lol

ps did I mention 'complain'?

I do not alter headlines on the back page, aside from a few rare occasions. The most recent was when a back page headline called out a user and I was asked to change it.

LOL! Rcade switched the headline on my "9-12 March on Washington" thread to "Tea Protester march on DC".

I don't care, though...it's his arcade, I'm just playing skeeball here....

It is your pretense of objectivity.

I must have been out the day Rcade made that pretense to objectivity. Why should he even make that pretense? I mean it's ok if he wants to, but i see no moral dilemna with him pushing his own politics or not devoting himself to pure objectivity. I mean this is his house, we are just guests.

I personally find his politics to be so banal, that it prevents them from attaching themselves to any extreme ideology even if he wanted them to.

BTW, Rcade, I grabbed the last beer out of the fridge. Sorry.

If you want to bitch about something bitch about dumps and moderation. I feel like a caged animal unable to use all my weapons. I could really go after people if I was able to ratchet up the personal attacks on people.

I personally find his politics to be so banal, that it prevents them from attaching themselves to any extreme ideology even if he wanted them to.

Funny. That's what the chicks dug about me back at Berkner High ... my sense of moderation.

"I feel like a caged animal unable to use all my weapons."

That's why they call it "prison."

Funny. That's what the chicks dug about me back at Berkner High ... my sense of moderation.

Chicks dig moderators? lol

RCADE changed my headlines a couple of times, sure I cry for a few days but I eventually get over it.

Unless of course the article is another attack on Bush or Cheney. Then anything goes on the headline.

I challenge you to come up with examples.

('Cheney Defends Gitmo, Waterboarding'
www.drudge.com)

Does the paragraph mention anything about waterboarding?

('Cheney blocked report: CIA tortured terror suspect to death ...'
www.drudge.com)

CIA Inspector General John Helgerson says Cheney never tried to influence him.

Cheney blocked report: CIA tortured terror suspect to death

That story didn't make the front page so the headline is the blogger's.

Cheney Defends Gitmo, Waterboarding

Here's the transcript of that Cheney interview. He defended the use of waterboarding in that interview. The story's description should have showed how he defended the use of that technique. I try to make everything in the headline explained in the description as well.

Rcade, I knew of 3 waterboarding incidents in Vietnam.

When will we be trying surviving members of the Johnson regime for sponsoring 'torture'?

Since waterboarding went on in Vietnam, why not during Bosnia/Hertz?

Let's investigate and bring Clinton/Gore to trial for 'torture'!!!

No? You want to remain loyal to Yellow-dogism and stay the site's head hypocrite? You like being the ghoul that digs up the 'red meat' for the Yellow-dogs, however rotted the 'meat' might be ...?

Meanwhile, you send out an 'employee' to demand respectful correspondence from me, alone, while that 'employee' ignores the invective issuing from Yellow-dogs, constantly and at the very time they were pretending to ask me for 'respect' ...

... all of you are puling, lying hypocrites and shameless anti-patriots, undeserving of 'respect' ...

STFU washed up neocon. You are a biased idiot that deserves no respect.

Rcade, I knew of 3 waterboarding incidents in Vietnam.
When will we be trying surviving members of the Johnson regime for sponsoring 'torture'?

Don't worry, Tad, you'll probably get a "pass," thanks to age and diminished capacity.

Meanwhile, you send out an 'employee' to demand respectful correspondence from me, alone, while that 'employee' ignores the invective issuing from Yellow-dogs, constantly and at the very time they were pretending to ask me for 'respect' ...

I have no idea what you are talking about here.

Jackass says, "You are a biased idiot that deserves no respect."

I don't ask for any 'respect' and especially not from the liars of the left/Democrats. That is Gal's effort - to infer that you puling hypocrites deserve some 'respectful' replies that you haven't earned.

See? I was made the target to demean for not doing so ... demonstrating that Gal (albeit responding to me ad hominem) is orders more intelligent, and subtle than most of the obsessed dogs here, and definitely over 110 IQ.

Definitely higher in the smarts department than the boss ...

So if somebody shows you respect they have an IQ over 110 but if they treat you with no respect they must be a knuckle dragger with an IQ of 82?

The f'ing Democrat mule asks, "So if somebody ..."

Not to worry, Ass, and since you don't qualify. However, if you study hard, you might reach the level of moron ...

At least I wasn't kicked out of the military unlike you.

Doc maunders, "Don't worry, Tad, you'll probably get a "pass," thanks to age and diminished capacity."

Why would I want a 'pass'? I'll testify!

As a matter of fact, if there are any trials for waterboarding, I'll demand records be revealed for Vietnam use, and as well as any usage under the Clinton regime ...

... you idiots probably think such a real 'investigation' will take place, don't you?

The cover-up has begun, and no trials will *ever* be made public because Democrats have been in charge of the CIA for all these years ... with spotty periods of Republican congressional control. Democrat numbers *guilty* will far outnumber the Republicans.

Ergo, the 'investigation' won't be made public and no trials of 'higher ups' will ever occur.

Since you weren't a "higher up" maybe there is a chance you will still get locked. Hopefully you get computer time so you can update us on prison life.

"Diablo, I see the headlines "Repubs Send Heckler $750,000" and "Heckler Funded Health Care for Illegal Immigrants" as factual. Everybody knows the guy as the Congressman who heckled Obama."

Okay rcade. Then why not "Drunk, murderer Dies" Instead of "Sen. Kenndey dies" or "Klansman Opposes Bush" rather than "Sen. Byrd Opposes Bush?"
Nice try. But I really do admire the website and your work. As far as your bias, fine by me. It's only the pretense that bugs me.

"I try to leave headlines alone, but often headlines don't convey the news of a story or they express a really strong bias towards one side."

That's what I mean about the pretense, rcade. Again, to emphasize, I do NOT object at all to your having a view and using your own website as its vehicle. More power to ya! I just think you nudge Page One headlines more to your side than mine. I have no prob with that.

"I must have been out the day Rcade made that pretense to objectivity. Why should he even make that pretense? I mean it's ok if he wants to, but i see no moral dilemna with him pushing his own politics or not devoting himself to pure objectivity. I mean this is his house, we are just guests."

Could not agree more, lipzoidal. It is his house and as posted above I have no prob with rcade pushing his own. I just believe he fixes headlines a bit and rcade for some reason does not seem to agree.
Nonetheless, I love the website and often recommend it to people. It's a fun place!
Is he a Lone Star drinker or one of the Mexican beer afficianado types? Wait! Shiner Bock, I bet!

"Go light a candle for Father Geoghan's soul, you sniveling queef."

I lit one for him and his victims, rein. I lit another for you. I paid a dollar each for the two candles so feel free to make the charge of simony.
I do not care. It makes me extremely happy to light a candle for you, say a sincere prayer for you and KNOW you are now helpless.

That's what I mean about the pretense, rcade.

Calling it a pretense suggests that I know I'm not fair and call myself fair anyway. I try to be fair here. Whether I succeed or not is up to the users.

Okay rcade. Then why not "Drunk, murderer Dies" Instead of "Sen. Kenndey dies" or "Klansman Opposes Bush" rather than "Sen. Byrd Opposes Bush?"

The only thing Wilson is known for is heckling Obama. The incident just happened. So he's the heckler, at least for the week or so the story's in the news.

Okay, if it's up to me you aren't. Happy?

Yes. Let's spoon.

Ted Kennedy
