I don't get it. How can you protest a legacy?

It already is what it is. That's why it's called a "legacy." duh

Just make sure the next guy in office doesn't do it if you don't like it.

That's the problem with liberals--they don't understand much.

They think the protesters are against the legacy of RBB--when they are against Obama and his policies.

Duh!

Thanks for clarifying that, Murphy.

What, in particular, of Obama's policies do you hate?

Murphy,

I think Johnny Hotsauce meant his post to be ironic and sarcastic.

Today about 30,000 gathered in DC to express their disgust with government spending and debt, which has now top 11 trillion, over 9 trillion of which was ran up under the Presidencies of Reagan, Bush and Bush.

IOW, these folks didn't protest when previous Republican presidents ran up the debt, but now that Obama is president, they suddenly care enough about spending and deficits to start protesting. What's the matter with Kansas?

Gal-
They seem to be a literal bunch without much of a sense of humor or irony. What I found amusing is that the ostensible leaders of this crackpot movement seem to go out of their way to portray it as non-partisan (in between playing clips of Nazi's marching while speaking of the Republic under attack by Obama and ACORN, etc.)
Murphy just told us that that's not so. It's all about Obama.

Bunch of partisan hacks. I wish firehoses and tear gas would have come out.

Hey Murphy, there's some kids smoking pot on your front lawn!

10's of 1000's protest Reagan/Bush legacy in D.C.

I nominate this for misleading headline of the year.

Firehouses? Liberals complain that when conservatives use this kind of language it makes them racist. Do you have a problem with people protesting, excercising their first amendment rights?

May also want to check under her bed-there might be a dirty commie under there waiting to rape her and turn her into a gay, Muslim, Communist.....

Probably composed over 90% of idiots too dumb to realise that an actual move towards socialism would benefit them.

I'm getting beyond annoyed at all this. Morons with Joker/Obama signs that say "socialist" like it means mass murderer, when virtually all the nations with high standards of living are socialist. When the roads they traveled in on were built by a SOCIALIST institution, when the education that allowed them to write their own signs (it clearly failed most of them, but whatever) was delivered by a socialist institution of education, when if you ask them, they probably all expect to retire to their SOCIAL fucking security some day. I honestly wonder if 1% of these people could even define socialism.

Oh, and where the fuck were they when republicans were running up the tab? Have any of them noticed the bat-shit crazy amount we're spending on defense? Oh, and talk about comparisons to the Joker, remember that scene in Dark Knight where he just burns the whole pile of cash, kind of like Bush did to us in that useless quagmire over in Iraq, while 8+ years have gone by missing the only guy to ever strike on mainland american soil?

Just one last slightly unrelated thing - while they scream socialism, and Glenn Beck misspells oligarchy, how can even that retard not have picked up that Bush created the ultimate oligarchy - rule by a select few families, or should we say corporations and the top 1 percenters who have increased the gap between us and them untill it is absolutely uncloseable.

And these idiots want to cry about socialism. I'm not sure it's actually a culture divide in america anymore. I'm beginning to believe it's just plain an intellect divide.

.. IOW, these folks didn't protest when previous Republican presidents ran up the debt, but now that Obama is president, they suddenly care enough about spending and deficits to start protesting. What's the matter with Kansas?

Describe Muffy in one word?

Johnny Hotsauce delivers the best laugh I got here today! I would have started with LBJ's legacy, but JHS had to make the point sharper. TY!

Looks like Johnny needs to lay off that hotsauce.
He is a good laugh.

when the education that allowed them to write their own signs (it clearly failed most of them, but whatever) was delivered by a socialist institution of education

Maybe that's WHY it failed them?

Probably not. You get out of you education what you put into it. I'd be willing to bet that almost all here on DR were publicly educated, and even our crackpots are probably better informed and spectacularly more capable of coherent conversation than the average person on the street. We have some serious crackpots, too. The education system has been failing, but it's not because it's a social institution, it's failing because everyone's afraid to force kids to deal with failure and recovery. They'd rather all have a smiley face. Subject for another whole thread, though.

Don't mean to be the Style Police, but "10's of 1000's" is very very awkward.

I take that back, I DO mean to be the Style Police.

"Don't mean to be the Style Police, but "10's of 1000's" is very very awkward."

Yes Tom, that is part of the fun of this post.
