"The thing to get excited about here is not the efficiency of the fuel but that this is supposedly a "cradle to cradle" solution. By producing this fuel you are not taking away farmland to decrease possible food production but you are taking the CO2 out of the air to produce the fuel." --ZigiSamblak (tech.slashdot.org)

An algae farm could be located almost anywhere. It would not require converting cropland from food production to energy production. It could use sea water and could consume pollutants from sewage and power plants.

This is pretty interesting.

diesel fuel from garbage

I am currently working on a car that will run on my hopes and dreams.

I can't wait for a GTO or Lambourghini to be fueled by alagae. Uh-huh....right...
What part of "sexy" do environmentalists simply not get?

perhaps a good time to ask your congressman why the high efficiency European diesel engines those folks will be driving are not allowed in US production cars??????????

A better time to ask them why they ride in limos while making us use wind-up toy slot cars.
