Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

The recession has slashed families' earnings, increased poverty and left more people without health insurance, according to the Census Bureau's annual snapshot of living standards. Median household income, adjusted for inflation, fell 3.6% last year to $50,303, the steepest year-over-year drop in forty years.

"8 years of GOP management bears fruit."

Are you saying this severe recession started 8 years ago?

According to Corky the economy is just fine, noting to worry about.

ACORN needs to get out of Harlem and their own offices and hit some other demographics.

On the other hand, with all the money being handed over to them and the corruption, they should bring up......

Whoops, never mind, The Baltimore case.

Hmmmm, so is it down or is it the group they are sampling under reporting?

8 years of dem. controlled house and senate.

Which 8 years are you talking about? Republicans had control up until 2006.

NO SHIT Jobs are going to China by the boatload. Greed NOT terrorism is going to be the death nell for this Country. Mark My words.

You republicans are all alike aren't You. Never take responsibility for anything do You. It's always someone elses fault but Republicans. What immaturity and deflectionators bwhahahahaha

Larry

lar, how many fucking times do I have to tell you I thought Bush was way too loose with the purse strings. He spent like a drunken sailor in a whore house. There is no excuse for what the republicans did when they had both houses nor does it excuse the way the current administration is spending money. They are spending like 10 drunken sailors.

Whose the Einstein that stated the obvious??

What a waste of print.

The question really should be why didn't the Democrats run somebody who wasn't a 6 of that (Kerry) to half a dozen of this (Geo W Bush)?

No that's nmot how it works. If the Republicans were so pissed at Dubya's spending and such they should have put up a candidate to run against Dubya. They didn't so their words are meaningless to Me. They were all hunky dory with Dubya or else they would have fixed their problems with Him.

Another victory for "free" markets and the global economy.

I am not like that.

But, I will say that if someone knows you don't like it, they should stop.

It's the decent thing to do.

Right, Gimme???

No Lisa You obviously don't understand. When someone fucks with anothers posts and adds their own to it. It ain't right not at all.

Which is it Lisa that I'm sweet on him or that I should leave him alone?

I am sweet on him but lest Larry gets the wrong impression about that the pants stay on I'm not gonna be his BBF! As far as leaving him alone this isn't elementary school or a Quaker meeting house it's a frigging blog to post opinions, pseudo-info and (mischievously) taunt those who disagree with you

Larry:

I do understand.

"And in 2007 the economy started to slide. Do you see a link???????"

The economy started to slide in 2001, the housing bubble masked it but many realized it. I told you many times that the Great Bush Economy many right here used to brag about was smoke and mirrors which it did prove to be.

Gimme:

"Which is it Lisa that I'm sweet on him or that I should leave him alone?"

I don't see that as an either/or!!

Where has everyone's sense of humor gone today?

I may as well go back to finishing the blanket I'm making.

At least the crotchet hook has more personality than folks here today!!!

LOL

You know OohRah I could take the Republicans words more seriously if they had at least TRIED to run someone against Dubya. I mean sure they might/probably failed in the process but they would have been at least in My eyes to have tried. Hell if I were Your Son (I am sure You are greatful that I am not) and I had at least tried to succeed in life and failed. You would have at least thought to Yourself at least He tried. Would You not?? I'd rather be known for a guy that at least tried and failed at life instead of not even trying. You understand now OohRah??

Larry

Oh and OohRah it's funny that You are claiming the Democrats want bigger Government and Republicans don't when between 2002 and 2007 they increased the Government instead of shrinking it as they profess to be all about. It's all a bunch of poppycock at the end of the day it really is.

No Party is gonna shrink Government not any time soon OohRah Neither Dem nor Rep. Too many people in America for that to happen. It's 300 MILLION now. whats it supposed to be in 10 20 Years?? Seems the bigger the population the bigger the Government is going to be. No matter who controls things.

Hey you said you had a moustache! No problemo we'll work around that how's your corned beef 'n cabbage? How long does it take you to split a cord of wood after you've milked 30 cows? Can you reload ammo or do you buy it readymade?

OMGosh!

I WOULD have a mustache...courtesy of my mother if I didn't take steps against one!

I'm gonna show you ammo!!!

BTW...I sent you a message and I hope you think about what I said.

OK, so now you've moved from your previous posts... your guy's not done the job either. (He's been a much bigger spender, no?)

That's apples and oranges my guy's a Democrat

Which has been worse, in your view, as you look at the deficit numbers?

See above answer

So if slowing spending was paramount for you, which of the lesser of two evils would you select? Honestly

Again see above answer

So inflation is going up faster than income, well thats no real change. It is interesting though if there are so many extra dollars income should be rising not falling. So where are the extra dollars going? Yep the gov is dumping them into the corp's which rather than raising employee pay is raising officer pay.

So the question comes how long will we Americans put up with being taxed so the government can give that money to CEO's? If we are sick of it how do we stop it?

Don't think the 500,000+ monthly layoffs are going to let up anytime soon. It's only a matter of time before it pulls down sectors not affected yet. The federal government will be the last to go.

Statistically, what affect does the unemployment rate have on this number? If unemployment was at an all time high, I would expect this number, the way it is calculated based upon the article, to fall as well even if wages for the employed rose.

What is the median wage for those employed? Is that falling?

Go Republicans! I just can't believe that we didn't vote for eight more years of incompetent (best spin) government last November.

re: #45

It's the median income that is cited in the article, not the average income.

Wages for the middle and lower ranges have been stagnating or even decreasing over the last decade while the incomes of the top 5%, 1%, 1/10%,1/100%, etc, have been increasing at an incredible rate.

But but but Obama has saved us all don't you know.

Signed Danni

Isn't it funny how when times start getting really tough they don't utilize the average family income.

Did notice though that the top 5% incomes went up not down. Nope, that's not taxes, they worked harder.

This means our economy is coming out and people will by all means be spending more ..... LOL!

Until we start going towards protectionist policies we will keep losing jobs. We simply can't compete with Chinese wages.

Nafta and everything else needs to end.

By spouting free trade rhetoric and enforcing it on ourselves while other countries engage in protectionism, we have undone our own economy. A planned demolition.

3 million Americans have lost their jobs since Obama came into office despite a $787 billion Stimulus bill. It will only get worse. Why? Instead of concentrating on keeping Americans in their homes and off the streets and helping business hire workers, Obama is concentrating on socialized healthcare, an issue that MOST Americans do not support.

Just look at the massive protests on D.C. this weekend and around the country. The economy makes or breaks Presidents and political parties and Obama and the libtard Dems have not learned that yet.

Is that libtard as in liberals or as in libertarians? My guess is you don't know the difference. At any rate, there is a semblence of truth in what you say. That's what happened to Bush 1 and Bush 2. Both of them trashed the economy. The only thing Obama has done is take some of the money Bush robbed from the people and put it back into the economy in a effort to keep it from totally collapsing at the end of Bushes reign. In fact he did so well he was booed out of office when he finally left. He biggest blunder so far is not allowing congress to prosecute the murderers that were running the country into the ground with weapons of mass destruction (What the hell do you think a criuse missile is?).

"Why? Instead of concentrating on keeping Americans in their homes and off the streets and helping business hire workers, Obama is concentrating on socialized healthcare, an issue that MOST Americans do not support."

Pretty funny post when you consider that the original whiner who started the teabagging movement was ranting about the possibility that taxpayers would be helping people stay in thier homes by helping restructure mortgages or taxpayers helping employers LIKE GM AND CHRYSLER not lay off thousands of workers. The president did exactly what you teabaggers were out protesting yesterday and now you're here complaining that he isn't doing exactly what you were protesting against him doing.
Make up your mind.

And in 2007 the economy started to slide. Do you see a link???????

YOU people think that Macro Economic events occur over night which only highlights the stupidity of the right.

Cause doesn't equal instant affect. It was obvious that this was predicted in 2004 by Greenspan and other and was subsequently IGNORED.

No I don't see a link having a degree in Economics. The data refutes your assertion.

Yeah a bill voted on before he was elected into office..

And sorry fella MOST people DO NOT oppose health care more LIES out of the right.

The f aux outrage from you turds is sickening. The amount WASTED in IRAQ and Afghanistan will top 3 trillion before its over enough to cover the so called health care over runs for 20 YEARS with nothing to show for it..

You guys are a failed party party. The only thing Obama has done wrong was to not crush you fuckers into dust ASAP.

The status quo presented by the rethugs is stupid and harmful to America.

Instead of these bailouts they should given the money to every adult American. Some people would just party away - say 400 grand - but others would have paid off their mortgages and bought new cars. But no, we had to save Wall Street and now the bankers are moving to Washington to be even closer to their benefactors.

But pointing the blame on one party or the other only muddies the water. They both bow to the business community because otherwise their contributions would be diminished. All they really care about is getting reelected and staying in DC.

None of them care about the little guy so let's stop pretending.

Yeah a bill voted on before he was elected into office..

"Yeah a bill voted on before he was elected into office.."

The stimulus bill was not voted on before Obama's inauguration. You're confusing that with the TARP bill.

Typical libtard who talks loud but has no idea what he/she is talking about.

Headline:
"Obama: Stimulus lets Americans claim destiny
President signs $787 billion program into law in Denver Tuesday"

www.msnbc.msn.com

Obama signed the $787 BILLION pork filled Stimulus Bill into law on February 17, 2009.

Obama is responsible for increased unemployment and increased national debt.

"Back in early January, when Barack Obama was still President-elect, two of his chief economic advisers leading proponents of a stimulus bill predicted that the passage of a large economic-aid package would boost the economy and keep the unemployment rate below 8%. It hasn't quite worked out that way. Last month, the jobless rate in the U.S. hit 9.5%, the highest level it has reached since 1983."

www.time.com

We've seen a huge drop in income for average working Americans, but a generous increase for the NYC Wall ST. financier zionists who have been able to scam the system with their banks and with help from the Fed ad taxpayers.

So what specifically are the demographic income levels in the USA that includes Zionists as a category? I guarantee you they haven't dropped as have others.

The USA has been had.
