Americans have lost their ability for introspection, thereby revealing their astounding hypocrisy to the world.

US War Secretary Robert Gates has condemned the Associated Press and a reporter, Julie Jacobson, embedded with US troops in Afghanistan, for taking and releasing a photo of a US Marine who was wounded in action and died from his injury.

I am sorry but the AP not only had a right to post that picture but a moral duty to do so. They are supposed to tell the good the bad and the ugly of American Policy. Welp that's part of it too.

Sanitized war coverage is so much more civilized. I don't want to think of all those pesky dead people when I'm going about my normal, uninterupted life.

Anyone locate any Bay of Pigs wounded photographs showing randomly strewn limbs and screaming agony?
Why were these not juxtaposed during the Ted Kennedy funeral with smiling pix of Bobby and John??

I doubt the abortion-on-demand crowd would blink an eye after all it's "only a zygote".

I'm not antiabortion but the cavalier attitude of a lot of the pro-abortion folks is more than disturbing.

First, no one is "pro-abortion". They're either pro-choice, or anti-governmental meddling.

I don't know, but you can sure find a lot of photos from the Vietnam war. Government learned a lesson from that.
