Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - More than 35 million Americans received food stamps in June, up 22 percent from June 2008 and a new record as the country continued to grapple with the worst recession since the Great Depression of the 1930s.

The food stamp program, which helps cover the cost of groceries for one in nine Americans, has grown in step with the U.S. unemployment rate which stood at 9.4 percent in July.

The Labor Department will release August employment figures on Friday.

June was the seventh straight month in which food stamp rolls set a record. The average benefit in June was $133.12 per person.

Corky is probably some pampered rich kid that never had to work for a living.

Either that or a paid shill.

Hey maybe they will pay Him a Shilling for Shilling. You never know.

This video interview with Congressman Pete Stark is a real hoot. This forebodes what we can expect from Washington. Stark thinks debt is wealth. I would translate to mean that they think Bernanke has the power to create wealth out of nothing.

These interviews are good. Senator Harry Reid maintains that our tax system is voluntary.

Corky likes seeing his name in the headline.

How fucking funny.

I post a Wall Street Journal Article about how how the stimulus actually worked, and the peanut gallery, unable to accept how wrong they were about it ever working, goes ape shit and soils their britches.

How typical.

The RNC's in stalling an industrial-sized laundry to deal with just that problem at its national headquarters (a.k.a. Moonbase Alpha) next week.

Duh.
Spending is not the solution!
Spending is the problem!

Where does government money come from, Corky? Still waiting for an answer.

On another related note. That famous claim of 230 mpg by the Government Motors Volt car is based on driving no more than 40 miles a day. That's what an overnight charge will get you. Longer than that, mileage goes down significantly. Of course, the electricity comes from fossil fuels. Unless it is subsidized, the Volt is priced at $40,000. It's not competitive lower priced cars like the Corolla. This car is going to be another government boondoggle.

Two days in a row. Perhaps we should rename this place "The Corky Retort," ya think?

GOPhers are like old hog sows.... every once in a while she notices she is stuck in pigshit and oinks.

"Of course, the electricity comes from fossil fuels."

Unless you use solar, wind, geothermal, etc. and etc.

Which require machinery to build. Machinery that is powered by electricity created from burning fossil fuels.

Let me know when YOUR side is willing to plop down a solar array or wind farm in their back yard.

Your party Our President. Our President's adminstration.

What do these things have in common?

They all said the effects of the stimulus wouldn't really be seen until next year.

Did you forget the threads a month or so ago from right wing folks whining about the effects of the stimulus taking so long to appear? In that thread, various (I bet even you did) claimed that the stimulus was never expected to really have any affect until next year.
