Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

While we clearly need health-care reform, the last thing our country needs is a massive new health-care entitlement that will create hundreds of billions of dollars of new unfunded deficits and move us much closer to a government takeover of our health-care system. Instead, we should be trying to achieve reforms by moving in the opposite directiontoward less government control and more individual empowerment. Here are eight reforms that would greatly lower the cost of health care for everyone:

More from the article:

Even in countries like Canada and the U.K., there is no intrinsic right to health care. Rather, citizens in these countries are told by government bureaucrats what health-care treatments they are eligible to receive and when they can receive them. All countries with socialized medicine ration health care by forcing their citizens to wait in lines to receive scarce treatments.

Although Canada has a population smaller than California, 830,000 Canadians are currently waiting to be admitted to a hospital or to get treatment, according to a report last month in Investor's Business Daily. In England, the waiting list is 1.8 million.

At Whole Foods we allow our team members to vote on what benefits they most want the company to fund. Our Canadian and British employees express their benefit preferences very clearlythey want supplemental health-care dollars that they can control and spend themselves without permission from their governments.

AND NOW instead of boycott there is a 'buycott' going on all over the country .,

CAPITALISM strikes back

"Our Canadian and British employees express their benefit preferences very clearlythey want supplemental health-care dollars that they can control and spend themselves without permission from their governments."

Duh. They already have basic health care so why wouldn't they want theri benefits as a way to pay for optional things.

Who cares what this guy has to say???
His opinion is no more valid than anyone else's opinion. His perspective has less relevance than most working people's do.

Old news.

This is a two week old story that has cost Whole Foods not only credibility, but customers as well.

"His perspective has less relevance than most working people's do."

Yeah, after all, he only runs a company that provides healthcare to thousands of Americans. What would he know?

His opinion is no more valid than anyone else's opinion. His perspective has less relevance than most working people's do.

Spoken like a true, "tolerant", contradicting liberal. Which is it: "His opinion is no more valid than anyone else's opinion" or "His perspective has less relevance"? You can't have it both ways.

The most honest thing you said was "Duh.......Who cares what this guy has to say???"

"Just buy my food and you won't need a doctor!"

Link? Or is this just more shit you are making up, corky?

I spent my $200 there last week. At least one company has a policy that makes sense.

And as usual the Left wants to shut them up.

Not happening.

I never shop there, but I think I'll follow your lead and also "buycott".

My favorite gourmet store is Central Market and I always pass Whole food on US 281 (at the Quarry) to get there. I think when I get home on Friday I'll go there instead of CM even though their bakery isn't as good.

Go Whole Food!

I'll check it out & start shopping there

The CEO's idea of health insurance is fabulous.

And of course--he is villified from the left.
