But the point you do focus on appears to reference the UK's National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE). I say "appears" because, if that's the case, you don't seem to know what's actually involved.

Nothing, except that some American critics including, lately, conservative interest groups, Web sites and politicians say that NICE denies treatment if the economic costs outweigh the probable life span of the patient. So too, they suggest, would the Obama administration with its government health plan and Comparative Effectiveness Research Center....

In an interview with The Guardian, a British newspaper, officials from the United Kingdom's National Health Service, or NHS, said the claims about the British board are untrue.

"There is no ban on anyone of any age receiving any treatment," a U.K. spokesman told the newspaper. "Whether to prescribe drugs or recommend surgery is rightly a clinical decision taken on a case-by-case basis."

Health officials in the United Kingdom acknowledged that NICE decides whether new drugs represent value for the money. But "exceptions are made," the Guardian said.

"Everyone who is cared for by the NHS has formal rights to make choices about the service that they receive," the NHS told the Associated Press. This was part of a detailed rebuttal last week by the British health system, fed up with what a spokesman described as "all these ridiculous claims made by the American health lobby about Obama's health care plan."

The vast majority of those so-called 'ethics complaints' were filed against Governor Sarah Palin BEFORE she was selected by John McCain as his running mate. Are you implying then that somehow the Obama campaign had anticipated all along that she was going to be nominated for the VP's slot on the GOP ticket and therefore was having these complaints filed as part of some sort of 'preemptive strike' or something?

Hey, c'mon, OCU, these are some really, really clever bastards we're dealing with here. I mean, how else can you explain the presence of the Obama birth notice in the Honolulu Sunday Advertiser that scuttles claims he was actually born in Kenya? Who else but really, really clever bastards would know --- 47 years before he was elected --- that Obama would be, well, elected and need some cover to deflect from the fact he's really a Kenyan, or a Djiboutian, or a Burkina Fasoian, or whatever it is he is?
