It was Tom Bradley's 1982 race for governor of California, in which he lost to George Deukmejian in spite of leading in the public polls, that gave the Bradley Effect its name. But now Lance Tarrance, the pollster for Bradley in that race, has an article up at RCP suggesting that the Bradley Effect was merely a case of bad polling -- and that his campaign's internals had shown a dead heat:

Polling doesn't mean shit, politicians who speak about the lives of main street and the problems there of are the ones who will win.

MONEY

It's working mightily well for Obama.

Voters think, "Who understands me better? A guy with $200,000,000 or the guy who worked himself up from humble beginnings?"

Obama's kept his eye on the ball and talked to the public about the issues they face in their day to day lives. McCain's smear campaign has netted him the opposite result he sought.

Not too many people at the Palin rallies are talking about this, curious.

It's nice to have a thread with a link to guys who do baseball stats for a living attempting to predict the outcome of the POTUS race.

Did they forget something? Oh yeah--the Undecideds, which is still 7%-15% depending on location.

Um, Murph, stats are COMPILED, they are a collection of data.

And baseball happens to be the most statistically driven sport on the planet. But don't let facts spoil your "undecideds" fantasy.
