William Kristol: It's time for John McCain to fire his campaign. He has nothing to lose. His campaign is totally overmatched by Obama's. The Obama team is well organized, flush with resources, and the candidate and the campaign are in sync. The McCain campaign, once merely problematic, is now close to being out-and-out dysfunctional. Its combination of strategic incoherence and operational incompetence has become toxic.

Here is the real comedy:

At Wednesday night's debate at Hofstra, McCain might want to volunteer a mild mea culpa about the extent to which the presidential race has degenerated into a shouting match. And then he can pledge to the voters that the last three weeks will feature a contest worthy of this moment in our history.

Billy when you're not pushing us into the wrong war you're a Funny Guy.........

The campaigns are an acurate reflection of the candidates.

Own it bitches.

Hold it, hold it. I respect Kristol. But now its too late to change team.

Right now don't get too riled by the polls. Come November 4, it will come down to Ohio again.

Ohio Ohio Ohio.

Remember in 2004 Kerry was 8 points ahead by the day and lost to Bush by the evening.

A man of Irish descent, known to have 'hot' blood, will be the 44th.

Figure out who has hot blood and who is more Irish between the two.

You respect Kristol? He is one of the most evil globalist neocons on the planet...

Hold it, hold it. I respect Kristol. But now its too late to change team.
~TAKITEZ

Who are You to question the man who helped push us into Iraq, and wants us in Iran?

Isn't this on the back page?

McCain spent too much time as a POW and not enough time time killing Gooks. He doesn't have the stomach or the killer instinct that is needed in a political campaign or the ruthlessness necessary to be POTUS.

Kristol is usually wrong about everything so this is disturbing.

This Fox BITCH, belongs to one of the most idiotic panel in any news show on television. Just this morning another panel an what did they have to say, ACORN, ACORN, ACORN....The first investigation in Ohio found that out of 50,000 filings only 40 to 50 have proven to be questionable, that folks is less that 1/10 of 1%. Fox News should hope that thier stories was that pure.....Listen for Fox News to spend the rest of the campaign squeeling about voter fraud, this arm of the Republican party has nothing else except to question the election. An to make Obama DANGEROUS......PRESIDENT OBAMA GET USED TO IT.....

Wasn't it about three weeks ago Kristol was saying Sarah Palin would fire up the ticket and they would win?

Like most columnists, his is based on wishful thinking.

It's too late for McCain to fire a campaign official and sell the idea he's turned things around. It would knock him even further down in the polls than he is already.

What do William Kristol and Sarah Palin have in common?? A fucked up sounding voice that is what.

Larry

Sarah Palin must have dealt a crushing blow to the dreams of liberals to be receiving the kind of insults from them.

Way to go, Sarah!

Ayers made Obama rich!

Why would liberals hate Sarah Palin? She's dug McCain into a deeper hole. Her approval rating's 36 percent and disapproval 58 percent, a -22 margin that's the worst among Obama, Biden, McCain and Palin.

As far as I can see, she's the gift that keeps on giving.

maybe Kristol read this Letter to the editor on "THAT ONE"

Decades from now an aging millennial will walk with his grandson through the nation's capital, recounting the history he lived. As they pass a gleaming memorial, the lad will ask how America was able to regain its greatness after decades of decline and darkness. The old man will point with a knowing smile to the imposing marble figure and say "That one"
Doug Snider, Medford , OR

-As far as I can see, she's the gift that keeps on giving.

Are you quoting her husband's business partner?

Why would liberals hate Sarah Palin?

Dick Cheney in high heels. That's my reason.

"God forbid if McCain is elected" is the reason I given it more than 10 seconds of thought.

Rasmussen's coming out with some new "Favorable/Unfavorable" numbers on Biden and Palin today. I realize Rasmussen's in the tank for the GOP, but we'll see what they have to say...

Kristol is looking forward to being a warmonger from the sidelines for a few years. Too bad.

Bloody Bill Kristol is just trying to cover his ass for finally supporting McCain by blaming the campaign managers, who after all, are all Bushies like Kristol.

"combination of strategic incoherence and operational incompetence"

And who says he's not like Bush?

Watching some of the folks at the McCain/Palin rallies who were "begging" them to "take off the gloves" gave me a glimpse of some of the right wingers who post here.....I think I can honestly say....I'm glad this is a VIRTUAL forum. I don't think I would want to be in the same room with those folks.

Let's see the other side....

Ayers contributed heavily to Obama's career and book. (Law firm, appointment to board, campaign in his house).

One time advocate of ACORN, Obama is receiving help from this organisation whose office has been raided in Nevada for voter registration fraud....

Obama's campaign receiving dubious funds (foreign and domestic) and not revealing the truth about them --- and using the money to fund ads.

How did Winnie the Pooh catch the Heffalump?

He put the Very Cunning Trap right where the Heffalump was.

Call McCain desperate, stand aside and watch him prove it.

Accuse the sumbitch where he is guilty, works every time.

Fire Palin and beg Mitt Romney to join the ticket.

RE: ROMNEY

Once the public caught onto the fact of how many thousands he laid off, or how many jobs were outsourced by Romney's venture capitalist firm, the jig would be up on him too.

Then there's also the fact he was either lying as governor of Massachusetts or lying as a GOP candidate for the Prez nomination. His stances as one are totally at odds with the other. It's as though Ronald Reagan's ghost baptized him with Dippity Doo and made him an instant right wing conservative.

you can't and that is why you are backing up.

LMAO!! Thanks ZAT!!

I wonder if after he sealed up the nomination, if McCain reverted back to who he was during the 2000 election, if he'd be leading the polls right now. There are many Democrats and Independents who have a lot of respect for McCain and who strongly supported him in the 2000 primary.

It just seems like since the primary, a time when candidates typically move towards the center, McCain has done everything in his ability to alienate the Democrats/Independents who have supported him in the past. There are many Democrats who simply supported Obama because he wasn't Hillary Clinton. McCain should have gone after them in some kind of non-haphazard way. For a lot of people, picking Palin for VP was the last straw

I have always like John McCain. I just feel like the disorganized, visceral, dirty, 100% attack-focused campaign is very unlike him and will do nothing but soil his legacy, destroy any chance of bipartisanship down the line, and alienate even more people from the political process.

Kristol is usually wrong about everything so this is disturbing.

Danni can't figure out which talking points to believe for the moment

only 40 to 50 have proven to be questionable,

So we now know that Celery is willing to tolerate S~O~M~E fraud, if it helps his guy get elected.

Nice, Vermin. Show your class...or lack thereof...at every opportunity.

Any day now McCain's gonna claim he 'found his voice', announce an end to negative campaign commercials, apologize for his smutty campaign. and even fire Rick Davis. Meanwhile, Matt Drudge tries to make a big deal out of McCain gaining a point or two in the polls as 'momentum', completely disregarding non-tracking polls that show Obama gaining ground - such as ABC/Washington Post's 10 point lead.

I read that scenario at FiveThirtyEight.com. They've been pretty insightful the entire general election. Wouldn't doubt it will happen.

That falls in the "Orange Alert" category on the "Political Terror Alert" chart of stunts McCain has left to pull. What happened to him? He's running the same type campaign Bush ran against him in 2000 - ironically with the same result.....he's losing.

takitez, keep drinkin' that shine.

Fire Palin and beg Mitt Romney to join the ticket.

Mccain did America a favor when he threw Ridge, Romney and even RudiG in the tank by picking Palin for Dobson's support. He'd probably be leading with any of them-PA would certainly be in play, instead of a lock for Obama. maybe even NY.

It's too late for Mcsame to change partners. He's got Dubya hanging from one side of his neck, and Palin from the other. If he dumps her, "Erratic" will be the most complementary thing you could say about Johnnyboy. "batshit crazy" would be closer to the truth.

Kristol is usually wrong about everything so this is disturbing.

So are you.

Kristol, Chris Buckley and a potful of Repub pols are falling in line, the old DR's righties (with a looney exception or two) are evolving from delusions of an Alaska-Arizona presidency to sniping at President O'Bama and printing their Impeach buttons. It doesn't LOOK like it will come down to Ohio, and even a repeat of the Great 2004 Vote Theft is not likely to alter the outcome. herm

HERM

I'm investing in 'Ajax Computer Screen Spit Remover'. After Obama is elected it should sell like gangbusters to all the Rushbots.

Except they'll have little of substance to bitch about, unlike we who've had to tolerate the worst president in at least a century as we've watched the America we knew slowly turned into another of his failures.

Watch how they'll manage to blame HIM for the mess he'll have been handed.

'Watch how they'll manage to blame HIM for the mess he'll have been handed."

AU, that will be the first challenge for the O'Bama administration. The new president will have to take a series of steps that can be no less statesmanlike that FDR's New Deal. Once the spurt of arterial blood is stopped, there will have to be some radical (!) surgery to repair the damage. herm

and even a repeat of the Great 2004 Vote Theft is not likely to alter the outcome. herm

Not if ACORN has anything to do with it - of course that would be assuming that there was a vote theft in 2004. Making an ass out of yourself is one of your strong points HERM - that and your ability to speak "brick".

So we now know that Celery is willing to tolerate S~O~M~E fraud, if it helps his guy get elected.

be careful, Vern, You reap what you "sew".

"Not if ACORN has anything to do with it"

Another stupidity alert! REpeat idiotic lies over and over and they actually start believing their own lies.

"So are you."

YOu don't like the truth so you deny it and can't stand anyone who tells it. Soooooo pathetic.

now there's a poster with at least half-a-brain.
bye-bye Vietnam era America where honor was lost and illegal invasion was further legitimized. ...good riddance.

i was referring to DANNI, who wrote: "Kristol is usually wrong about everything so this is disturbing."

VERNON......Your Fox News goes on live everyday to give the News an how much do you think is FRAUD.....You ignorant BITCH, NO FRAUD by ACORN has yet been proven, wake up Mother fucker we live in America, INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY, Remember that ASSHOLE!!!!!!!!

I had a msg to post. And this one is the most appropriate one. Whats wrong with the McCain campaign.

This is not how US democracy should be and anyone who loves this hate, put down shit isn't thinking of the Republic... he's more thinking how he felt in HIGH SCHOOL with MY TEAM against THEIR TEAM.

This is not what American politics should be about.

Pls to read this and analyze WHICHEVER side you're on!

Class? you must have meant ass.

Ole crabby varmit'll show his ass way before any good judgement. Just ask him who he voted for in the last election even after he had the fraud right in front of him.
A-hem, musta had some Haliburton stock....

Bill Kristol = PNAC

Danni -- Funny!

Actually, Kristol seems right about McCain's strategic incoherence. McCain is a seat of the pants intuitive guy, with a penchant for calculated risk. His advisers seem to be all wrong -- Kristol-loving neocons and Grover-Norquist/Phil Gramm loving corporate elitists. No telling if McCain is planning on some culture war to come to his rescue or what. But, if he had stuck with a plan that included Chuck Hagel as his VP pick and a kitchen cabinet of anti-Bush, anti-Cheney GOPs, he might have won the election. Now it looks as if his campaign will be relegated to the history books on how not to win an election.

It's too late for McCain to fire a campaign official and sell the idea he's turned things around. It would knock him even further down in the polls than he is already.

Which is why Kristol wrote that he should. I have literally NEVER seen william the bloody be correct about anything.

Quayle's brain indeed...

mccain isn't smart enough to fire his campaign, he is still under the delusion of being a maveric and hero which the people love.

The lords of the upper class in spouses must have some cross breathing, there daughter married the wrong person.
