An environmental action group founded by former vice president Al Gore is accusing ABC of censoring an advocacy ad the group paid to air on the network. "It's outrageous that they would air ... ads about the benefits of fossil fuels, but not air our ad, which is the simple point of oil and coal companies spend millions of dollars on advertising," said communications director Giselle Barry.

Al Gore and his koolaid drinkers are trying to scare America into the hands of enviro-talibans who would subject Americans into dire poverty just to promote green causes.

Oh shut up.

Sure, lets raise taxes, *and* make energy more expensive in the US than in other countries. That will help the economy.

Do these people really belive this stuff? Or are they so invested in the Solar companies etc. that they are willing to rip us off for their own profit?

Nothing can be done to make a liberal honest.

Forget it, Al. Big oil is here to stay because we need oil, and not just to put gas in our cars.
Oil is involved in a ton of by-products we all use in our every day lives. Sure, put up some windmills, let's look into alternative energy and all the rest -- but it's not going to replace the need for oil. America is going to need all the sources of energy we can find. But to always make big oil the boogeyman is ridiculous. There is more than enough demand in the world -- both now and even more in the future -- to need energy from every source we can find.

I'd rather have U.S. oil companies getting first dibs on all the remaining available oil supplies in the world than see us try to tie their hands and instead watch the world's remaining oil reserves go intead into the hands of Communist China, Russia, and the Middle East.

I drank 12 beers last night plus a bunch of food that was left-over. This morning after a dump, I looked back and it hit me. That's what Al Gore is talking about-"green jobs".

Thanks, FW.

Fw is truly reprehensible

I don't know Chris...if we heavily invest in alternative energy with the goal of weaning ourselves completely off of oil in, say, 40 years--while China & others create an entire industrial infrastructure around a un-renewable resource, would just mean that we would stand a better chance of remaining a viable nation while the rest of the planet comes to a complete halt when the wells finally run dry.

And it seems Mr. Thom has taken to closely inspecting his bowel movements--no doubt keeping watch for secret messages from whatever deity he bows down to. It must be Hyperion, the bastard son of Uranus.

Funny flag dude!

Also-taksituptheass must be his father!

Conservation alone cannot help as each year there are more people in our growing population thus the demand for energy increases each year. Nuclear, wind, solar and oil/coal - ALL are needed to meet future demands.

Mainstream Media is in cahoots with every other Corporation which in seeking maximum returns will eventually destroy our standard of living, leaving them with no one Stateside to sell to.

At least there is Free Speech TV, a remarkable addition to sattelite TV.

Oh yes. Republican claims would make sense if your Oil Messiahs promised to sell the US oil in the US. But since it's already spoken for in future markets for foriegn countrties y'all just sound lik a pack of lying morons.

This article is about ABC censoring a paid advertisment. If there was EVER a need for the Fairess Doctrine to return it is examples like this that proves it!

FWTHOM, control (reduce) your drinking....

OK, some environmental concern should be discussed and practiced, but let's be real here: without oil America will come to a grinding halt.

So what Al Gore and company should do is instead of slamming big oil, find aggressive and practical ways to implement alternative energy that can steadily replace fossil or coal fuel and make the environment cleaner. It will take time. Guerrilla tactics will not work.

You can't really do that w/o slamming BigOil or at the very least making people aware of the harsh realities that the corporate MSM exist to distract from.

Germany right now has a real edge on the resty of the wrorld in terms of solar powered alternative energy.

The government there basically forced the Big Oil concerns w/i Germany to subsidise and underwrite much of the R&D required to achieve that laudible goal.

Ya see, over there the government has retained the power to tell Big Biz to do the right thing whether they want to or not.

In the US Cheney invited his BigOil cronies in fer behind closed door meetings where they sat and wrote their own ticket in terms of energy policy.

Big difference.

Not saying there aint corporate over-beholdeness on both sides of the aisle just that on the right it approaches near totality.

ABC subcribes to the same pro-corporate/anti-people agenda that rules in DC.

Quick would some Rtard just fer Spud now try and esplain how anything other than FOX is part of a massive "left wing media conspiracy".

That one never gets old fer Spud.

Be Well.

/Yeah, yeah, really gone now.

Go Al! I live a log home with no electricity and I am powering this entire post by series of nickles and pennies surrounded by lemons!

Al! Rock on and thanks for inventing the internet.

Al Gore must be admired for his courage to do the right thing. Sure, his carbon footprint is sizeable, but I think his heart is in the right place. Hopefully, Al Gore will be a part of the Obama administration.

Eco-czar?

Be Well.

Yeah...Fuck Al!

We should continue spending hundreds of Billions simply guarding the Oil companies profits with our Military. Let's keep pumping shitloads of cash into the pockets of Putin, Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Brilliant!

Fat Ugly Chick Who Can't Get Laid:

Domestic oil, by law, is sold and consumed domestically, you lying moron. The only exception is Alaska oil, which goes to Japan, but is offset by oil Japan would otherwise buy, you lying moron.

BTW, you are a lying moron.

Where does the oil we drill here drill now in the US go?

Spoken like a true Liberal. Algore can personally fuck the environment, so long as his heart is in the right place.

His actions don't matter. Only that he is full of bullshit and blather for the Left -- and bosses other people to live better than himnself.

Where does Taiwan get IT'S oil, VERNON?

You couldn't find a job here, claim things are just great in America, and then you run halfway around the world and preach to us?

Be careful who you call a moron.

Speaking of morons, you're the one who never heard the phrase "you will reap what you sow". Dumbass.

Taiwan imports its oil. Just like Japan.

I am self-employed, you lying moron. I have several businesses, you lying moron, and I choose to operate them from here, you lying moron.

If you didn't spend your entire life in your mom's basement you would know that there are Americans living and working all over the world. Not everyone is a limp dick like you, who thinks an 'adventure' is stopping at the Circle-K in a bad neighborhood.

BTW, I don't drive a car here -- not even a scooter or motorcycle, you lying moron. I ride a bicycle or use public transportation. Which means my 'carbon footprint' is the size of a parakeet, you lying moron.

For the purpose of the argument, I'll take your word for that (not that I believe it). So, what you are saying is that the oil from drilling in ANWAR, eg, would go to Japan.
