Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Look at the financial disaster as part of a larger failure. Americans have been persuaded that a rising tide will lift all boats, that wealth will trickle down, and that "free" trade will benefit everyone. Instead, people borrow to maintain some semblance of the "American lifestyle."

The financial crisis is really caused by the whole conservative project: here's how.

Wow! this has been on here more than 5 minutes-and the usual suspects aren't screeching "traitor"-"Socialist"-"Commie"
.
They must be burnt out from all that Obama hate they been feelin'(thanks to the McShame/failin' ticket of haters).
Ah Well!
This is a good article! Makes a lot of sense too.

I agree with all this 10000%.

according to the right-wing, the middle is the new left. After bushco, we have to create policies that are left leaning just to get to the middle, philosophically and financially.

I will never think america is a moral law-abiding decent country again until there are some government leaders (of both parties) and some business leaders behind bars. and have their fortunes returned to the parties from whom it was stolen.

Bushco has found a new tool to reduce our debt. Theft!!!!

Lip,
Are you what they call a "Porch Mason"?
Don't you agree that the 2 party system supports the eye at the top? Just like on the dollar bill.

"Illuminati"ng discourse there, Jeffy.

dude, why are you obssessed with this subject? you are like a gifted child, educable but as yet uneducated. you are rigid in your concrete thinking, and unable (or unwilling) to grasp abstract concepts.

i have no ideal what a porch mason is. I am a person that is dedicated to ideals. I am not dedicated to people, positions, religions and certainly not political parties. All of that crap is for people that don't know what is really going on. It's just different ways to control the herd. Everything I know tells me that i don't need to be controlled.

The eye on the pyramid is a visual representation of the myth of Atlantis. As with almost all masonic symbology, there are dual meanings. It is also a representation of a god-fearing society (the all-seeing eye). Do you understand the significance of that and how the two relate to each other? You should look up atlantis and find out how the pyramid and the 'eye' are related to the US. And don't come crying to me later when it causes you more confusion.

It's obvious to me that you have some cognitive dissonance about this subject. The reason is that part of what you think is true is not true.

God fearing, this was our first mistake.

We need to concentrate less on god, and more on taking care of the problems at hand that are real.

An imaginary god cannot solve "real" problems.

The right direction is the opposite one from the one we've been traveling: the US should re-regulate businesses, strengthen unions and raise taxes on the wealthiest, while lowering them for the rest. The right direction to climb out from the financial collapse is to put money into tangibles, increase overall demand and the supply of money. Creativity will have to be curtailed in the financial system, which will have to get smaller, although my fellow New Yorkers might not want to hear that. The right direction is to invest in people: health care and education, and in leading technologies, especially in the energy sector--wind, solar, etc.--and in rebuilding crumbling infrastructure. The right direction does not include an even more expensive military.

If this isn't what Obama means by change, it should be!

The god I am talking about is whatever you call your god. Not the god that the whackos talk about.

The god of nature is what's mentioned in the Constitution and acknowledged by no less than Madelyn Murray O'Hare, let alone all my Baptist rancher cousins in North Texas.

I'm investing in technology. I just know that gasoline powered tongue scraper will take off.

BTW, hey guys, does your tongue feel all pooped out, tired, listless....?

Frank, we've all heard this same tired shit before. As always, it's from some dumbass like you who does not understand how global economics really operates.

This 'makes sense' to you because in your formative years in the 1930s it was somewhat accurate. Now, do the world a favor and either shut up or die.

"But the basic problem is corporate ascendancy and workers being underpaid. A mass consumption society depends upon a population that earns adequate wages. If unions are savaged and good jobs are sent overseas, where pay is a quarter or less of the American standard, then the basis for the mass consumption society has been destroyed. That's the basic problem. People aren't being paid enough, and after awhile, they can't continue to borrow to maintain the economy. Borrowing to maintain consumption, after a long run, has finally hit a brick wall. That's why the underlying basis of credit is now in question. "

That's exactly correct. This is a classic overproduction/
underconsumption crisis.

"This 'makes sense' to you because in your formative years in the 1930s it was somewhat accurate. Now, do the world a favor and either shut up or die."

That is a bit over the top even for a hate filled POS like Vernon.

When you tell someone to "die" I think it is time to go post somewhere else.

DOUGLASSMYTH rocks!
