I'm not sure I'm following your logic. Seems to me like this guy probably genuinely believes what he said.

First, it wasn't MY 'logic' since I just cut & pasted the above item. But from what I read there and on another site, as well as his 'IllumiNation' website, it's obvious that he 'sells' his service as a 'professional advocate' whether you need to add a 'point of view' to a panel discussion or as it's described, to 'augment' a speaker who needs a 'particular' message reenforced with his audience. Now granted, I'm sure that he may have already been of the mindset he expressed, but it's also obvious that he 'offers' his services as a 'professional advocate', which means that he expects to be paid for the unique contribution that he can make to events like this.
