John McCain is facing a fresh round of anger from members of his own party deeply opposed to the Arizona senator's proposal for the federal government to purchase troubled mortgage loans. The pointed backlash from several economic conservatives -- many of whom already distrust McCain's commitment to free-market principles -- couldn't come at a worse time

LOL, this reminds me of the premature ejaculation posting. And inch is as good as a mile if you miss the target.

You know I perosnally and whole-heartedly believe the backlash is not necessarily conservative, it is also the raygun democrats.

Everybody is pissed off becasue most of them have just learned that the rule of law and justice only applies to ordinary people and not leaders.

If this continues it will tear our democratic republic apart.

When John McCain speaks people laugh. I don't think many will be able to consider him a serious candidate much longer. He's making himself look crazy. I think he probably is.

He's making himself look crazy. I think he probably is.

~Danni.

Yes, but here's the part that's funny fer Spud.

He's still not CRAZY ENUFF to satisfy the fundy fucknuts of regressive "social conservatism" w/i his own party.

And now the few remaining fiscal conservatives on the right are shit-kicking the guy?

Sorry, but that is just too, too funny.

/Spud, admittedly, has an odd sense of humour.

Be Well.

I especially like McCain saying "my fellow prisoners".
Imagine if Obama made a gaffe like that...the righties would be wetting themselves.

"I just have to rely on the good judgment of the voters not to buy into these negative attack ads. Sooner or later, people are going to figure out if all you run is negative attack ads you don't have much of a vision for the future or you're not ready to articulate it."
-- John McCain, 2000

I do believe that if McCain had stuck to his line about running a campaign on the up-and-up and kept on the issues and not stooped to these childish attacks and campaign bullshit (saying your suspending your campaign while you run over 1400 ads during the same period is not a 'suspension' of a campaign), he might be in the lead.

That and the choice of Sara 'Failin' Palin, the most incurious, unintelligent person to ever seek the office of the vice presidency, certainly didn't help anything.

Face it Johnny, you gave into the hardcore hate-filled righties and they brought you down.

BWAAAAAHAAAHAAAHAAAHAAAAAAHAAA
A!

Who could have predicted that the only people McCain ends up at the dance with are the Wackjob Christians?

That's what a Sara Palin selection will get ya.

Imagine McCain before the Palin VP announcement. Convention coming up, the Bush/Rove base disaffected, election ten weeks away. Future dismal and a steady slide down to a bad defeat on November 4th virtually certain.

In this context, the Palin pick -- recklessly impulsive as it was -- makes sense. Pity that she turned out to be such an "embarrassment"(Kathleen Parker, George Will, David Brooks, Charles Krauthammer, Andrew Sullivan etc etc - longtime committed conservatives). Coulda/shoulda/woulda worked if she just wasn't who she was. Shoulda vetted her, John, but that woulda not been mavericky, would it?

you mean Kinda like when he said in an interview with George Snuffalufagus "MY Muslim faith" and George immediately corrected him in the objective journalistic way

Yeah, context is way overblown these days. It's the words that count.

Context, we don't need no stinkin' context.

"You are absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith", meaning others have but not McCain. Stephanopoulos didn't help though with his kneejerk MSM need to never be offensive to anyone.

Pointing this out to those who want to believe it is a waste of time, so I'll stop doing it.

Ask your witch doctor for Palinex, the new wonder drug.

Ask Obama:

www.youtube.com

I'm an R and cannot vote for the old fool.
He acts as if he is entitled to the presidency.
He's lost my vote and I'm spreading the word in my R-dominant community one conversation at a time.

I travel across Ohio moving kids back and forth to Ohio State and Miami University,,,,and I see more Obama signs in the farming communities. Unprecedented as the R's have "owned" rural Ohio in the past.

John McCain flunked out at the Naval Acamedy, only to be allowed back because his Father, was an Admiral an His Grandfather who was also an Admiral, this loser was one of the first people granted a free ride because of his family, welcome to the World America.

Senator Obama was raised by a single mother an Grandmother, went to private school, because he earned scholarships, his family had to go on food stamps, yet he went on to Graduate at Harvard law School. Every Politician in the past 50 years have been telling the African American community that they must move on from the Getto culture, Senator Obama has done that yet you Racist Prick on the Republican Right thinks that this is not enough, FUCK YOU AN YOU RACIST ATTITUDES, GET USED TO IT PRESIDENT OBAMA!!!!

Former Michigan Governor, Millikin (R) came out for Obama today. Said he 'didn't recognize' John McCain anymore.

John McCain is having trouble selling his economic fixes to his own party?

There is a simple cure:

Have Sarah invite her Kenya Witch Doctor into town. He can cast out the witches of wallstreet.

Then we can reallly have VooDoo economics.

That would make Reagan Proud!

All I see and hear anymore is a Liberal and Conservative coalition of anger against this criminal bailout, with clueless moderates enduring in a state of quiet desperation.

McCain never had the support of this conservative. You simply can't spend your career in bed with Kennedy and Feingold and Lieberman and expect me to support you just because you managed to win the nomination of my party.

Sorry. If the Republicans want to be led by a John McCain, they can go on without me. Apparently I'm not alone, and maybe they'll listen two years from now.

Obama will never face a backlash because the dems will vote for whoever they have (whether qualified or not} [Who are the REAL mine number robots.]

Either McCain or Obama = Americans gets fukd up the keister once again!!! Enjoy!!!

Did Obama mock the Bible? Yes, says PhforAmerica.com. It is airing an ad on that.

Some of the Right Republican KoolAid has McCain supporters so drunk, they'll losing control of it self... the even booed McCain for trying to make them more civil.

The ugliest Campaign yet and McCain worries he's losing control of it. I think a lot of it is the Whisper Campaign via email, the Sarahcuda who needs to be reeled in...and talk radio which is trying to incite the right to riot.

There's no doubt that John McCain entered this race with an albatross around his neck ~ George W. Bush. There's also no doubt that the neocons thought they could wage an effective battle (sales pitch) to minimize the negative affect of George Bush on McCain's bid for the presidency.

It might even have worked. But then McCain decided to add another albatross ~ Sarah Palin. Once again, the neo-cons thought they could counter that decision with another super sales pitch.

Then another albatross appeared -the economic meltdown. Since this one was trigered by McCain's (and Phil Gramm's) passion for degegulation, the affect on his bid for the presidency is his and his alone to bear.

There's also no doubt that McCain has been trying to walk several tightropes simultaneously ~ all of them wobbly. It was a recipe for disaster from the beginning.

I'm surprised that McCain didn't recognize that the neo-cons "perfect storm" was a failure of epic proportions. I'm surprised that he didn't recognize how absolutely disenfranchised people had become with the the neo-cons over the past eight years.

I'm most of all surprised that he didn't realize that true Republicans (sans the neo-cons and the evanglicals) were and still are hungry for their party of old ~ the one that used to stand for fiscal responsibility and middle American family values.

He might have won this election had he tried being the embodiment of a statesman instead of a typical disingenuous politician walking one tightrope after another.

Liberals are in denial big time to think Sarah Palin has been dragging McCain's campaign. After throwing every insults they could find under the sun, and not able to pull her down, rabid liberals are still in rage and comforting themselves with denials.

Sarah stunted Obama's bounce from the DNC, energized McCain's campaign, pulled in lots of money, and continues to be a pain on the liberal neck --- and McCain still has a chance of winning the Presidency.

On election day John Kerry was ahead 8 points in polls in Ohio in 2004, and he lost the State in the evening. And lost the Presidency.

Thanks to Osama Bin Laden's tape.

Osama wanted Bush in for another term - a real lackey.

Mission Accomplished! Bush managed to completely screw up the rest of what he hadn't yet in his first term.

Bin Laden is a happy man thanks to you

I agree that polls are schmolls and I certainly wouldn't want to take them too seriously. Instead I'm looking into the deeper psyche of all people, Repubs and Dems alike, who have been increasingly angry at the current administration for everything and anything that affects their pocketbook.

"It's the economy, stupid!" That's just as true today as it was when Clinton took the presidency away from George Herbert Walker Bush.

People may not necessarily understand all the nuance behind the scenes but they understand perfectly well that the past eight years have been financially painful and (wars aside) the country, as a whole, is in deep doggy do-do.

As any farmer knows, you don't hire Fox #2 to guard the henhouse after Fox #1 has done stole all your checkens.

It's simple logic.

I was in shock last night as I watched a clip of McSame take a question from someone in the audience and McSame corrected her and said the Barack is not an Arab and Barack is a good and decent person and family man. My question is who came down hard on McSame. When I saw that it was like he conceded the election. He is a broken man.

REZNWERKS

As I said, the media was raising alarms at the vitrol being displayed in McCain's crowds toward Obama. I think "kill him" was the final straw.

Something had to be done before things got out of hand. McCain stepped up to the plate on this one but he probably lost the support of people who are begging him to go "volcanic" and start beating Obama with a sledge hammer.

For all intents and purposes, this race is over for McCain. Going overboard now will just confirm the stories that McCain can't hold his temper. He's really in a no-win situation.

I wish he'd just drop back to the true roots of the Republican party and be remembered as the dignified statesman he used to be ~ a long time ago.

the Palin pick -- recklessly impulsive as it was -- makes sense.

Huckabee would have filled the bill but John's ego wouldn't let him do it. Huck, even with only manboobs would have outshone him.

Please read Obama's book.
Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance

Palin is becoming something of a teflon politician --- the liberals are having a frustrating time trying to pull her down but can't.

Oh, the liberal media has a tsunami of contempt and loss of credibility coming their way!

thats because you are listening to cnn and other networks who ARE SOLIDILY AND TOTTALY IN THE TANK FOR OBAMA and you are listening to even obama practice age discrimination as well........

and if you paid ANY ATTENTION at all to anything but leftists talking points, you would have heard him pay obama a really high compliment that could even hurt mccain when he told a crowd that obama was a good person who they should not be afraid of as president

I DIFFER with that idea because I am afraid of him because SOCIALISM has never worked anywhere else....

perfect example of two things

I have said that being civil is a sign of weakness to liberal fucks and here we have a perfect one of that

the other is that the left screams at mccain for not being civil and when he is, people like this say that it shows he is beaten

well which is it?????????

a civil campaign or not??????????

Palin is becoming something of a teflon politician --- the liberals are having a frustrating time trying to pull her down but can't.

you would have heard him pay obama a really high compliment that could even hurt mccain when he told a crowd that obama was a good person who they should not be afraid of as president

Just now, no less than 15 minutes ago, a spokesman for the McCain campaign was on MSNBC saying that Obama does in fact pal awround with terrorists. Clearly what we had last night with this "compliment that could hurt mccain" is simply another case of the candidate not speaking for his own campaign. Un-fucking-real. . . .
