A few years ago I watched in northern Arizona's Verde Valley as a contractor built a beautiful home for himself and his wife along a rocky ledge overlooking a canyon. Then he and his wife ran into a bumpy patch. The next time I was up there, the house was gone; literally gone. Apparently he'd decided to liquidate an asset before the divorce was finalized.
