isn't this what socialists have been screaming for since the sixties?

most of them should be about ready to cash in on their retirement accounts...

th - we should always be careful what we hope for.

Who knew the Republicans wanted to destroy American capitalism?

At least FDR gave the bozos a little breathing time.

I was thinking the same thing.

At least FDR gave the bozos a little breathing time.

American capitalism is a myth invented to tap the resources of people. People do not create in a system of repression.

Doc, this is not a repub/democrat thing. Both sides have advanced the cause as needed. As far as pure socialism is concerned, FDR's policies, which were needed and helpful at the time, were very socialistic. And they were based on keynesian economics. You can't live by keynesian, but you can use it to get out of a jam.

GWB was very socialistic. So was Reagan. Clinton and Nixon was probably as conservative as anyone has been since Eisenhower.

Obama will be more conservative than Bush, I guarantee it. And it is time for some more keynesian to correct the last overcorrection.

the socialist' fondest wish coming true - bet they didn't believe it would cut this deep. now they know they're not untouchable.

hey, we're all in this together.

doc - fdr prolonged the depression with his bright ideas - hey, maybe bush'll stay in office longer? ::sarc::

Sounds pretty dramatic but that is the headline of a story on the front page of the Washington Post today. Maybe a bit exaggerated

Well, certainly not the end of journalistic sensationalism.

isn't this what socialists have been screaming for

No, it's what they've been screaming was going to happen... and since way before the 60's.

Most of those socialists were actually just pseudo hippies, i.e. peaches en regalia. when they started having children they bought in big time. today they are as much a cause of our current problems as anybody.

"You can't live by keynesian, but you can use it to get out of a jam."

As long as this nation followed Keynesian economics our economy grew, wages increased, wealth increased dramatically. With the introduction of Supply side economics by Ronnie Raygun (may he burn in hell forever) our debt jumped from less than 1 trillion to 3.5 trillion and has continued to grow with every successive Republican administration since.

"fdr prolonged the depression with his bright ideas"

Ridiculous.

has anybody noticed on some of the news tickers ceo's are retiring at a higher rate of speed than ever before?

Ridiculous

Agreed. Nanc is just trying to avoid the reality that Herbert Hoover was a rethug douchenozzle who's mess had to be cleaned up by three succesful terms by Dem legend FDR.

McLame actually tried to connect Hoover and Obama the other night in a debate, apparently unaware of wot side he's on.

In point of fact, McThuselah has a lot more in common with Hoover than he's letting on.

"The fundamental business of the country is on a sound and prosperous basis."

~Herbert Hoover, Oct. 25, 1929

"Our economy I think, still, the fundamentals of our economy are strong."

~John McBush, Sept 22, 2008

QFT.

Be Well.

/Sorta here and entering the DR as ya do,
stage left.

the socialist' fondest wish coming true

You can thank the republicans for it.

You betcha!

debt jumped from less than 1 trillion to 3.5 trillion

Sheesh, what a piker.

It takes a real conservative to add $6 trillion to the debt.

Every dollar the government borrows is one less dollar that business can borrow. That is why deficits do indeed matter.

Socialism is not a dirty word.

As usual, the potatoe sides with the socialists and bowls a gutter ball.
