Gallup: While 6% of voters say they are less likely to vote for Barack Obama because of his race, 9% say they are more likely to vote for him, making the impact of his race a neutral to slightly positive factor when all voters' self-reported attitudes are taken into account.

So much for the bullshit myth that Obama will lose because of racism. Time for the pants-pissers to resort to Plan B - the old Diebold excuse.

i haven't seen the word "diebold" so much in my life as in the last week!

curious, i wonder what the poll would have said if it were about age discrimination?

Kinda like sycophant, showed up overnight and everyone started using it like they had known it their whole lives.

i wonder what the poll would have said if it were about age discrimination?

After a 9 hour workday I am exhausted and I am nowhere near 72 years old let alone suffered physical and mental abuse for five years of my life.

Can you honestly say that a 72 year old has as much stamina as someone in their 40's?

There is a reason the retirement age is 65. How many of you know the real reason it is 65?

I'll have you know that there's nothing wrong with me that can't be fixed with a bucket of mortician's wax, a jump-start from a truck battery, and some Waterloo dentures.

Wild guess. becuase that's the average life expectancy when it was established?

Those who would support a minority candidate because of race don't consider that racism and therefore are more likely to admit it in a poll.

Those who would support a white candidate because of race are less likely to admit it for fear of being considered racist.

IMO the poll numbers greatly underestimate the number who wont vote for Obama because he is black and greatly underestimate the numbers for those who will vote for McCain because he is white.

The hidden factor is the people who WON'T tell poll-takers that they won't vote for The Black Dude. The PBS news hour this week brought in pundits from three areas to second that motion. herm

You guys should go with the "hire the handicapped" approach. Senility or delusion are handicaps aren't they?

So 6% of the people questioned admit to being racists. You have to figure the real number is a lot higher.

Gee, how fucking scientific.

Libs said race matters. DID LIBS LIE AGAIN? DID OBAMA LIE AGAIN?

No. But you remain full of stupid.

Sure it effects the election.

Obama is leading by 5%, yet 6% of voters say they will not vote for a Black guy.

You ninnies on the right have been bitching about how Obama should be leading by 10 points.

If it were not for the racist pigs in this country he would be.

Remember, those racist pigs are Republicans.

So 6% of the people questioned admit to being racists. You have to figure the real number is a lot higher.

No dumbass. if you could READ, you's see that actually 15% admitted it. You only see some one as racist when they vote against Barack because of his race. You totally ignore the people that vote for him because he's black, which is just as racist.

I firmly believe that stupid doesn't just run in your family, it does sprints.

which is just as racist.

We will have to agree to disagree on that.

'Sure I would like to see an African American in the WH'

is a lot different than:

'keep the n**ger out of office.' as a Republican voter has recently been quoted as saying.

It's a shame that you are so bigoted that you can't see the difference, but then again, that is your ilk.

Racism is racism! Anybody who is biased one way or another because of one's race...then he/she is racist.

MEANING: If you vote for or against because of the candidates skin color..then you are racially motivated.

Thus some Democrats and Republicans are racist.

"You totally ignore the people that vote for him because he's black, which is just as racist."

Unless of course that same person has voted for white people in the past, in which case it is not racism.

Libs said race matters. DID LIBS LIE AGAIN? DID OBAMA LIE AGAIN?

Again? when did obama not lie?

What you don't understand is that many people who harbor racist tendencies will not admit them. This is the difference between being a racist and admiting that you're a racist. I know lots of white people who *claim* to have no problem with blacks, but wouldn't want to be friends with one. If someone calls them on the phone and asks if they'd vote for a black man, they'll say they would; but when the time comes to pull the lever, they won't do it.

It's the same story over and over... white people love black people, as long as they don't live in the same neighborhoods, they're jovial and non-threatening like Bill Cosby or Wayne Brady, and their daughter isn't dating one.

So-called African American culture is fucked up. I disagree with everything it stands for, but I would vote for a half-black man like Obama if he was not a socialist and did not hang with terrorists, racists, and people who hate America like his wife.

"I just have to rely on the good judgment of the voters not to buy into these negative attack ads. Sooner or later, people are going to figure out if all you run is negative attack ads you don't have much of a vision for the future or you're not ready to articulate it."
-- John McCain, 2000

"Gallup: Obama's Race Doesn't Affect Race"

Shhhh, don't tell Obama or Obama supporters.

Remember, those racist pigs are Republicans.

Except for all the Democlowns who think Osama is just so darn nifty -- because he's brown.

Ignoring Osama's lack of experience and giving him a pass because he's brown is a vulgar form of racism. And it's why he's referred to as the Affirmative Action Candidate.

Except for all the Democlowns who think Osama is just so darn nifty -- because he's brown.

Vern's calculator strikes out again.

I've never cared what color his skin is. Neither do the other tens of millions of voters who see him as the best man for the job.

How are things in Taiwan? Too bad you couldn't find a job here in the U.S.

"And it's why he's referred to as the Affirmative Action Candidate."

Don't you mean Screechy Sarah? Does anybody in their right mind think this bumpkin would've been picked if she was a he?

"And it's why he's referred to as the Affirmative Action Candidate."

I thought all good little Republicans love Clarence Thomas?

I can imagine the worldwide reaction to the election of this Democratic African American President.

Only European-Americans can be racist.

This thread can now be closed.

Be Well.

Never mind the fact that the line "Gallup:Obama's Race Doesn't Affect Race" is a total misstatement, I have heard more than one person, who claim to be lifelong dems say their not voting for a N.

www.thesmokinggun.com

Nope, no affect at all.

Race is not an issue?

Why did Hilary consistenly win primaries with secret ballots even though polls showed her way behind? Why did Obama win pretty much every caucus, where you have to stand in a group and pretend not to be racist. Here in Texas, Hilary wiped her ass with Obama in the primary (secret) but lost in the 'two-step' part of the process (public).

Like everyone is saying, what a white person says in public is not the same thing they vote for in a secret booth. Like it or not, you know it is true.

Also, what is with this "off with his head" business at McCain rallies? I mean seriously. Is that the 21st century way of saying "string his ass from a tree"? Ohh, I know, chanting to kill a guy via decapitation is harmless and in good political fun. It cannot be serious, who would ever do that just because he is a black man.

"I thought all good little Republicans love Clarence Thomas?" Clarence, and Alan Keyes, and Uncle Tom Sowells, and Ward Connerly. I think that's all. Whatever happened to J.C. Watt? herm

"So-called African American culture is fucked up. I disagree with everything it stands for, but I would vote for a half-black man like Obama if he was not a socialist and did not hang with terrorists, racists, and people who hate America like his wife."

This is a representative of the McBush campaign speaking, folks. Note the attacks on black culture, whatever that may be, the labeling of this wimpy middle-of-the-road half-white man as "socialist" and his more idealistic friends as terrorists, racists and America haters.

And hanging out with his wife??? Unforgivable. herm
