Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Wednesday, October 08, 2008

I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt. I've said to myself and to others more than once: "While it is true that Democrats are seriously misguided, at least they believe they're doing what is right for the country." And by that I have meant that their motives are far less insidious than is our wont to portray them.

My biggest concern with Obama is: How well do we know him?

What do we really know about his life? His background? His passions?

What do those who know him best really think about him, beyond the vague: "He's a great man"?

He's very protective and defensive of his past on a truly personal level, almost to the point of being secretive.

McCain on the other hand is an open book. For better or worse, Americans know exactly who they are getting in John McCain.

Obama? Not so much. Further muddying the Obama waters is the fact that he's changed positions from the primary to the general on just about every major issue except health care. Add to that his lawyerly tendencies toward evasive-speak and double-speak.

The last 2 presidential debates covered at length the biggest political issues in our country today. This is a good thing. Issues and policies are critically important when vetting a candidate.

Having said that, the individuals themselves are also critically important. If it weren't, the 2 parties wouldn't nominate individuals, they'd just nominate party platforms.

I want to know, who is Barack Obama?

I know who John McCain is.
I know who Joe Biden is.
I know who Sarah Palin is.
Obama is like a shadow, or a ghost.

Who is he?

For better or worse, Americans know exactly who they are getting in John McCain.

Except that the mccain of 2000 and the mccain of today are almost polar opposites.

The man has been on more sides of any given issue than Kerry and Romney combined.

You are very funny JeffJ. You claim not to know who Barack Obama is but You know who Sarah Palin is. Can we say Partisan hack You are. How many interviews has Obama done?? Hundreds. How many has Sarah Palin?? 2 Failed ones. Hell all You have to do is read Obama's books to get a glimse about who Obama is. Not so with Sarah Palin. You also declare Obama isn't ready to Lead. It seems Your Conservatives had no problems with Abe Lincoln when He ran for office. Hell the Conservatives of today can't shower praises fast enough towards Abe Lincoln yet declare Barack Obama doesn't have any. They BOTH have had about the same amount of time in the Senates. Oh and they were/are Lanky Lawyers from Illinois. I suspect if Barack were Republican You would have NO problems with Him.

Larry

Except that the mccain of 2000 and the mccain of today are almost polar opposites.

The man has been on more sides of any given issue than Kerry and Romney combined.

He's changed his positions on tax cuts.

What else?

I suspect if Barack were Republican You would have NO problems with Him.

Well, considering I have serious problems with both McCain and Palin, I'd say your suspicion is incorrect.

He was for deregulation before He was against it. He was pro choice before He was against it.The list is a mile long.

Larry

You Republicans totally baffle me. You think you can win by making up by sscrewing the American middle class who pays this countrys way. You want to privatizize Soocial security. Good move there everyone over 65 would be out on the street after the last two week. John McCains health ccare plan gets its money by taxing the health plans we have from the company we work for so if you make 50K and you comppany pays 12K for the helthcare policy for you/your family you pay taxes on $62,000 not $50,000. Sure Mcain gives you $5000 but what kind of policy for your family you gona get for that and if it costs you $9000 where is the other $4000 coming from, sorry but McCain would ruin the current healthcare system. America can't afford John McCain but then he thinks you get out of the miidle class at $5,000,000 dollars. McCain is a joke.

You'll have to elaborate, Larry.

Has he become noticeably more or less hawkish on national security issues?

Has his views on the environment changed noticeably?

How about campaign finance reform?

Earmark spending?

On the issue front, McCain has been more consistent than many of his peers.

How many interviews has Obama done?? Hundreds.

A VAST majority of them were puff pieces and virtually none of them delved into his past in an even remotely probing manner.

The guy is a wraith.

Larry,

If you are truly equating Obama and Abe Lincoln, then I will have to laugh uproariously.

Laugh all You want to JeffJ. You are a Partisan Hack and can't see the simularities between the two. I suspect Your hatred for Obama is Irrational. Oh and You declaring His interviews as something of puff pieces is quite funny. If those were puff pieces I would hate to know what You thought Sarah Palin's pieces were. Not so funny dat Be.

Larry

Well, considering I have serious problems with both McCain and Palin, I'd say your suspicion is incorrect.

Yet You can not stop with the acolades here for both of them on this here thread it's funny.

Larry

can't see the simularities between the two.

They both served in the Illinois state senate.'

The similarities end there.

Lincoln actually successfully argued cases as a lawyer.

Lincoln self-taught himself in the legal field.

Lincoln was in a vastly differnt era with a plethora of different challenges and circumstances.

So, by your logic, I guess every Illinois state senator in US history is not only qualified to be POTUS, but is in par with Abraham Lincoln.

This is an insipid "gotcha" talking point, Larry. I'd guess it's borne out of partisan hackery on your part.

Taking your logic further....

Bill Clinton, a leader whom you know doubt admire was a governor. Sarah Palin is a governor. Hmmmm......

Accolades?

On this thread???

Name one.

Larry,

The only 'accolades' I gave Palin or McCain on this thread is that with either of them, I know what I am getting. If you'll notice, I gave the same 'accolade' to Biden, but I guess giving Biden such a prop is a product of my partisan hackery.

You are a liar if You declare with Sarah Palin You know what You will get. She has been on the National Stage for how long?? 2 Months maybe a couple days more?? Yet Obama has been out there at least a Couple YEARS. Let's face it Your support of Sarah Palin and declaration that You know Sarah Palin and You know what You will get is political hackery.

Larry

The only thing You care about with regards to Sarah Palin is She has an R after Her name. THAT is the ONLY reason You claim to know with Sarah Palin You know what You will get.

Larry

He can't have the country's best interests at heart, his name rhymes with something.

It's so ironic that Palin tries to raise the "he's not American like us" issue with Obama, yet her husband was a card carrying member of the Alaskan Independence Party - who call for Alaska to secede from the United States, and who's founder blew himself up making a bomb and was then buried in Canada so he wouldn't be on U.S. soil.

So much for the Palin's patriotism. I don't hear the right talking about THAT inconvenient fact.

If she were a Democrat all we'd hear is what traitors she and her husband are. Which isn't far from the truth.

Yeah NoGov4Me. Can't have a President with the simular sounding name as an enemy of America. Can't have that (ROLLS EYES)

Larry

Yeah and Dubya was a Governor and You(Well probably not You) see how shitty He turned out to be Hmmmmmmmmmmm

Which only serves to prove my point how ridiculous you sound when you equate Obama with Lincoln.

Try it this way:

"As long as one can get elected to the Illinois state senate, he is on-par with Abraham Lincoln."

- Larry

You are a liar if You declare with Sarah Palin You know what You will get. She has been on the National Stage for how long?? 2 Months maybe a couple days more?? Yet Obama has been out there at least a Couple YEARS.

In that short period of time the media has given 10-times the cynical and skeptical scrutiny of Palin as they have of Obama.

Let's face it Your support of Sarah Palin and declaration that You know Sarah Palin and You know what You will get is political hackery.

What makes you think I am supportive of Sarah Palin? At present, she's woefully under-qualified which concerns me greatly. I think she has tremendous potential, and as a Veep (a position traditionally of very limited power) and a quick study, she could possibly grow and mature into a viable POTUS candidate. However, if McCain were to win and then immediately croak, I'd be extremely concerned with her as the leader of this country.

Do you EVER actually read what I type, Larry? I can not believe how often you not only blatantly mis-remember things I've said, but also blatantly mis-represent what is in front of your face. You read a comment and then, in knee-jerk fashion, jump to pre-determined conclusions.

Yeah AU if Obama were to have belonged to a Secede group out of Illinois JeffJ would be posting like a mad hatter on every thread. Obama don't love America He wants to sucede from the Union. Hell I am almost positive He would be on a posting sprew that would rival Nicevilles if that were the case.

Larry

Larry,

Sarah Palin never belonged to this group.

She was a registered Republican when she attended a couple of meetings.

AU,

her husband was a card carrying member of the Alaskan Independence Party

That is news to me. Can you substantiate this?

Welcome to the home of

UPDATE September 3, 2008 Noon ADT
It has been brought to our attention that there is a COUNTERFEIT SITE now up on the net. This site is a FRAUD and has infringed our copyright. We are presently seeking legal recourse.

Contrary to initial reports, Vice-President candidate Governor Sarah Palin was never a member of our party. We stand corrected. We issued a press release today. It is posted here to those members of the media who did not recieve it.

Todd Palin was registered as a member but never participated in any party activities aside from attending a convention in Wasilla at one time.

We had several hundred people attend that convention and nothing of noteworthy status took place outside of nominating the most conservative candidate up to that date to ever run for Governor of Alaska. That candidate was the sitting Lt. Governor, Jack Coghill. This man was one of the authors and signers of the Constitution of the State of Alaska.

Oh Bullshit JeffJ. You are the one who claimed Obama was unqualified. He has the same qualifications as Abe Lincoln Who I am sure You admire. Secondly Obama has been over the coals with the Media with regards to scrutiny. You are full of shit if You think He has had it easy. From His pastor to His middle name to his race(Something Sarah Palin has no problems since She is a WASP) Hell how many times has Obama been refered to as Osama in the media. Oh and His supposed Muslim ties how many times did they delve into that?? You declare also Sarah Palin is woefull underqualified yet You want the McCain/Palin ticket anyways. Let's face it She has to be Presidential Material at Jump Street because McCain could drop dead day after inaugeration and guess what President Palin. You would not want to pick someone with such few credentials to be Vice President when Your running mate is so old.

Larry

You are the one who claimed Obama was unqualified. He has the same qualifications as Abe Lincoln

First off, NO he doesn't.

Secondly, that makes ALL state senators supremely qualified, which is simply bullshit.

Secondly Obama has been over the coals with the Media with regards to scrutiny.

If you consider gushing, fawning over him and tingly feelings running up some legs as being over the coals, then yes, you are correct.

From His pastor

The media DID cover the Wright story, I'll give you that. However, once Obama fucked over his dear friend, mentor and spiritual advisor of over 20 years, the coverage ended. I am unaware of any serious interview or media coverage of Wright after Obama threw him under the bus. Why is that?

to His middle name

Making public his middle name is tough scrutiny???

to his race

The media template thus far is that virtually ANY criticism of Obama is tatamount to racism. Better re-check your premises.

Hell how many times has Obama been refered to as Osama in the media.

In the media? The only time I recall was a sound-bite of Ted Kennedy (D) making reference to him on the floor and accidentally referring to him as Osama.

Oh and His supposed Muslim ties how many times did they delve into that??

Briefly and factually.

You declare also Sarah Palin is woefull underqualified yet You want the McCain/Palin ticket anyways.

I might feel differently if Obama was on the bottom of his ticket, instead of the top. Obama is running for #1 and Palin is running for #2. HUGE difference right there. You put yourself into a losing argument if you want to compare qualifications between Obama and Palin, when they are running for vastly different positions.

Let's face it She has to be Presidential Material at Jump Street because McCain could drop dead day after inaugeration and guess what President Palin. You would not want to pick someone with such few credentials to be Vice President when Your running mate is so old.

That's a very good point and is my biggest concern regarding her, by far.

First off YES He does have the same qualifications as Abe Lincoln You just can not stand that undisputed fact.

Secondly how many times have they questioned Him with regards to what He stood for?? How many interviews have they done with Him?? Hundreds. Oh I forgot they were just puff pieces accordings to You.

Thirdly His middle name has been debated in the media questioning if He was like Saddam Hussein. Hell even You did so a number of times.

Fourthly Any criticisem of Obama is tantamount to racism. Well if Barack Obama was all white America would have not the negativity shown towards Him as He does now. Let's face facts JeffJ this Country still is a bigotted Country. While not as bad now as it once was we still have residual racism in America. The declaration is A Black man can't be President. No Black man can not reach the highest of the high because He is still concidered a less than in MANY eyes.

Palin is on the TOP of the ticket for the Republican party. True it's McCain/Palin but McCain doesn't have that much time left. So it WILL be a President Palin before McCain leaves office in His first term. if God forbid He wins.

Larry

I might feel differently if Obama was on the bottom of his ticket, instead of the top. Obama is running for #1 and Palin is running for #2. HUGE difference right there. You put yourself into a losing argument if you want to compare qualifications between Obama and Palin, when they are running for vastly different positions.

That is what You stated up above. You would be correct if McCain was 50 or even 60. He isn't. He is 72 Years of age. Let's face the facts. John McCain's running mate Sarah Palin is sharing a Presidential Ticket. What I mean by that is they are vying for the Presidency at the same time. With McCains age and health it's a co presidential ticket. While true Palin is on the bottom it's only semantics nothing more.

Larry

While You are the drizzling shits on Obama and the Democrats as a whole You are still a great friend JeffJ. I never forget that. Laters.

Larry

Thirdly His middle name has been debated in the media questioning if He was like Saddam Hussein. Hell even You did so a number of times.

Wrong and wrong, on both counts.

First off YES He does have the same qualifications as Abe Lincoln You just can not stand that undisputed fact.

He has 1 qualification that is the same as Abraham Lincoln. 1. Regardless, your point is meaningless - according to your logic ALL state senators have the same qualifications as Lincoln which renders your "point" moot.

Secondly how many times have they questioned Him with regards to what He stood for?? How many interviews have they done with Him?? Hundreds. Oh I forgot they were just puff pieces accordings to You.

What he stood for? You mean, his version of what he stood for? It's only 1 piece to the puzzle. I want to know more about him. As a person. As a man. His political advocacies are virtually indisinguishable from the Dem party template. Based solely on that, he could be John Kerry, or a less-hung Hillary Clinton. Who is he?

Fourthly Any criticisem of Obama is tantamount to racism.

I dearly hope you aren't serious with this. So, if I disagree with his tax policy, I am a racist? If I criticize his stance regarding Iraq I am a racist?

You'd better clarify that comment and do so quickly.

We're all fortunate that "the Messiah" is a miracle worker since otherwise he would be mendacious. He will lower taxes for 95%, when only some 70% now pay taxes, and if Obama's programs are implements only some 43% would pay taxes.

This has been Obama's game plan form the get-go, redistribution of assets, take from the taxpayer and give the assets to others. Confiscatory taxation is a disincentive for many people, and creates avoidance strategies for others.

A critical core of Obama's constituency are indigents. As a "community organizer," he was a practitioner of Alinsky tactics for obtaining moneys by threatening disruption of the society. As a government official, he'll be able to use the power of the federal government to obtain money from those who work for a living, and transfer that wealth to those whose productivity is lacking.

This redistribution scheme concocted in regard to housing had dire consequences leading to a breakdown of the financial markets. The critical factor was the activity of Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac in packaging loans and making them available for trade on the open market. By the way, Fannie and Freddy were run by Democrats, and as I recall the heads of the organizations were black men - working for "social justice" - and not "discriminating" in packaging good and bad mortgages.

Then the sharpie predators led by Paulsen, who profiteered trading instruments created in furtherance of the insane social engineering policies, sought to bail themselves out. Paulsen, the Secretary of the Treasury, former CEO of Goldman-Sachs, selected his protege, 35 year old former Goldman-Sachs VP, Neel Kashkari, who joined Paulsen at Treasury, to manage the $700 billion bailout. These folks have no compunctions regarding misuse of money as any intelligent knowledgeable person was aware that the security for the mortgage packages which they hawked were "junk," and that fact was undisclosed to buyers with whom they may have had a fiduciary relationship. These financial market folks are both intelligent and knowledgeable, and also unscrupulous, and the Congress has bailed them out.

The Congress was stampeded to pass the bailout and earmarked pork package, which did not work to resolve and of the key problems affecting the economy. The Congress was late to address the problem created by lack of commercial paper liquidity which is not meaningfully affected by the $700 billion bailout. That problem was liquidity in the market that provides loans for businesses to provide for operating expenses, and consumer loans to enable produc ts to be purchased. Now that problem is being addressed after the economy has been further depleted by the phony scam perpetrated against the will of the American people.

The people in power are the culprits, both left and right, who have exploited the working people of this country, the prudent, provident, and productive, so as to service their ideology of providing for the poor and minorities whatever the harm inflicted on others, and to provide for self-enrichment. The motivations may vary, but the exploitation continues whatever the pretext. You will note that a bunch of lefties have managed to also enrich themselves in the course of the Fannie and Freddie fiasco including the eminence gris behind Attorney-General Reno during the Clinton administration, Jamie Gorelick.

directorblue.blogspot.com "In 1999 Fannie Mae announced that it would purchase $10B in CRA loans. In 2001 they reached that target as Ms. Gorelick announced that they would roll these into special security issues ...

"Yep, you guessed it. Gorelick also had a direct hand in the mortgage securitization debacle." justbarkingmad.com

Have you read Obama's book Jeff?

If you consider Obama a ghost, then you should read more.

A lot more.

Your ignorance is your problem buddy.

book(s)

So, you know Sara Palin huh?

What colleges did she attend?

What is her religious affiliation?

What is her stance on the Kurdish region of Turkey?

What is her opinion on Federal Wire Taps?

What is her solution to the Healthcare problem?

Where does she stand on immigration?

Again, don't throw your ignorance on us man. READ.

Where does she stand on immigration?

Why is this topic seem to be off limits in the debates? Surely someone in the audience or on the internet last night had a question concerning this. Broke caugh picked tired old questions to which we have heard both candidates answers - sorry wrong thread.

Joe, many of us who consider ourselves conservative, regard McCain as a seriously flawed candidate on a variety of grounds, some of which do not significantly distinguish his views from those of others.

I regard McCain's health-care plan as devised by an idiot, unworkable and detrimental to the well-being of literally millions of Americans. That he would propose it suggests that either there is a mole trying to undermine him, or reflects an unbelievable stupidity in not recognizing that his plan would adversely affect many of his supporters, possibly to the extent that it would cause them to vote against him. It's bad PR for sure in addition to being a poor plan. It's the weakest part of his platform.

Obama's health care proposals are flawed and presuppose an abundance of money to service them. You may or many not be aware that these national health plans and those now implemented in particular states of the United States have an ebb and flow of benefits depending on the economy, and that people with orphan diseases are likely doomed as the plans are run to provide the greatest good to the greates number to the detriment of treating individual need. Cold blooded. These plans are subject to political pressures. And again, the naivete of the left in regarding these plans as not damaging to the economy as did the Fannie-Freddie fiasco, is testimony to their gullibility.

I suppose that the distinction is that most of us who support McCain recognize him as gravely flawed. Those of you who support Obama seem to be oblivious to the many negative aspects of his being and his policies. Obama's grievances, bitterness, and hatred are reflected in his associations with such hate-mongering racists as Rev. Wright, who served as his mentor, guide, and friend for decades until it became politically inexpedient for them to publicly maintain their relationship.

Obama has maintained an intimate social, political, and business relationship with unrepentant domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, who supports use of schools for indoctrination of students, and who supports our enemy, Venezuelan President Chavez with whom he appeared and endorsed their shared endeavor at co-opting youth with leftist indoctrination. Obama and Ayers had financial ties in implementing programs, and Ayers chose Obama to administer a $50 million grant on a failed Annenberg Challenge project. justoneminute.typepad.com Their relationship is close and continuing, and their shared ideological goals favor introduction of communism as expounded by Ayers in the literature of the Weathermen, which he founded.

Somehow Obama escapes critical examination by his followers who adulate him. Why?

"Theu shared ideological goals favor introduction of communism...."

Crap.

By the way, it was also crap eight years ago when your Republican friends were calling McCain a communist because of his "associations".

This "associations" stuff, if it has any validity, may be queering my personal political career because I speak with Johnson.

Damn, Zed. Those guys have forgotten all about McCain's out of wedlock black baby.

Jeff - it would seem that you have some sort of impediment whereas you are unable to assimilate information.

Two books (brutally honest)
2 years running for president
Hundred of debates
Thousands of speeches, town hall meetings, meet and greets.
And yet you parrot the latest McCain campaign talking point that "people don't know who Barack Obama is"

Well you know what? If you don't know who Barack Obama is by this late stage in the Election then you are a dumb fuck, who does no reading, who does no research, who looks at nothing but "Dancing with the stars" on television, the man is an open fucking book, warts and all,

If you claim that you "do not know who Barack Obama" is at this late stage in the game then to be brutally honest, you have forfeited your fucking right to vote, period.

...The reaction to Obama by the people of America is disturbing, to say the least. I have not seen anything quite like it in America. Ronald Reagan, for example, was also very popular, but his name evoked enthusiasm and, at his death, reverence. But never the sort of idolatry inspired by Obama.

I just have to laugh, once again JJ comes up with abunch of shitty rhetorical underlining character bashes to justify his unsubstanciated dislike for obama.

Try looking at those you have supported for the last 8 years and what they have done to this country, it doesn't take an idiot to figure out why obama is liked so much.

...Surely the average Democrat at least imagines his way of thinking-a way that resists thinking things through-serves his country well. Can I assume that most Democrats are not actually trying to undermine America?

How condescending is this!

The only ones that can clearly be observed as not thinking things through in the last 8 to 20 years is the neoliberal republican, which you seemed to be.

What I really find interesting is over the last 28 years the republicans have had the political leverage to perform all the necessary things to help this country in ways that they like it and now after the fact of their control can't seemed to grasp that their way helped in any way.

Greed is a seven deadly sin, and by the way, isn't that your party mantra and faith based support.

You know JeffJ I sincerely see Myself in You circa 1980's through to the last week in July 1992. I was always down against black folks. I was a bigotted ole fool. I was where You are today. You always here if You work hard enough You too can achieve great things. Well that is Barack Obama NOT John McCain. I understand this Country still faces the cancer called bigotry and racism. It's part of our Country's collective make up. I know it's rough trying to change a prejudice but it takes time. Oops, he also wants his money in the oil companies to continue to be subsidized.

Falsely assigned position - your MO.

Just in case we missed something, nothing here actually talks about the qualifications of baghdad bob or that little town women mayer palin.

That's because the article is about Obama, not Palin or McCain. Try to keep up.

I am glad to see someone so rational in their logical thinking about qualifications, it doesn't show political hackery at all.

Considering your charges are all based upon not what I've written, but what positions you've assigned to me, "I have to laugh" at the allegation of 'political hackery'.

Do you EVER address points on topic? These days, you deal largely in strawmen which you seek to knock down out of laziness.

AU,

Thanks for the links.

If you'll notice, I posted a blurb up above (via a quick google) that substantiated your claim.

You know JeffJ I sincerely see Myself in You circa 1980's through to the last week in July 1992. I was always down against black folks. I was a bigotted ole fool. I was where You are today. He's black therefore He isn't qualified enough to (Insert High Ranking Position)

You are simply wrong, Larry. Some of the most effective, high ranking position holders I know are black. Here's but 2 examples:

1. Joe Dumars - President of the Detroit Pistons
2. My dad's former boss (my dad is now retired)

Hell, just yesterday on a different thread I was touting Thomas Sowell (a black PHd at Stanford) and you equated him with Ann Coulter.

He has worked hard to come from the bottom of the barrel to achieve greatness. The American way after all. You always here if You work hard enough You too can achieve great things. Well that is Barack Obama NOT John McCain.

Obama has a compelling story and I fully acknowledge what he's accomplished in his life. Having said that, if we are going to compare his love and sacrifice for this country vs. McCain, McCain wins. That's not a knock on Obama, it's a prop for McCain, as flawed as he is.

I understand this Country still faces the cancer called bigotry and racism. It's part of our Country's collective make up. I know it's rough trying to change a prejudice but it takes time. You have to be willing to look past Your preceived problems with say Blacks and question Yourself why You hate them so much.

I am unsure whether that "you" was directed at me, or at a generic racist. I don't hate blacks any more than I hate whites, or hispanics, or Indians, or... I judge people based upon their actions and their values. Period. At the age of 11 I made a slightly racist comment and my mom gave me a smack-down. Right then and there, she instilled in me a value that I've held dear to this day: "Accept people for what and who they are. Black or white, man or woman, red or green we are all people." It was a defining moment in my upbringing and is one that I vividly remember to this day. With me, respect is earned, not granted by some accidental, superficial quality.

If what I have said here causes You to hate Me I will also understand. I will still be here if You need anything. I mean that. You are a Friend to Me. You will ALWAYS be a friend. You are good people never forget that.

Of course I don't hate you. I really appreciate the well-thought, albeit grossly misguided, and heart-felt response you penned.

In a few minutes I will follow with one of my own.....

Lawrence,

You and I have become friends simply resutling from the personality that emerges over time via typed word. Deep-down you are a truly decent person which is a quality that I find to be endearing.

Having said that, you have often confounded me. I am frequently amazed at how selective your memory is regarding what I've typed on this blog and in email. I am frequently amazed at just how often you are so wrong regarding a position I've taken. At times, I take personal offense to this. You profess to be my friend, yet you construe my position on certain issues to be downright nefarious. Heck, on this thread alone you flat-out called me a racist. I cut you a lot of slack because I know you truly mean well. I strongly believe that you would selflessly do anything, to help those who you care for. Sadly, that is a rare quality these days. Anyhow, I should be deeply offended by the racist charge, but I am not. Here's why:

You revealed your own prejudice in your heart-felt post:

You know JeffJ I sincerely see Myself in You circa 1980's through to the last week in July 1992. I was always down against black folks. I was a bigotted ole fool. I was where You are today. He's black therefore He isn't qualified enough to (Insert High Ranking Position) I was prejudice against blacks. I still to this day catch Myself every so often being negative towards them out of ignorance. I am a work in progress. I will probably always will be a work in progress.

You used to be prejudiced against blacks based solely upon the accidental occurrence of skin-color. At some point you had a revelation and saw the error in your ways. You are now VERY sensitive toward any perceived prejudice that mirrors how you once felt. So, you find racism where it doesn't exist. Going further...let's look back at this comment in particular:

I was always down against black folks. I was a bigotted ole fool.

You may very well still be a bigoted ole fool, but not toward African Americans - but toward Conservatives. It would certainly explain how you can constantly:

1. Grossly misconstrue an argument proffered by me in a knee-jerk fashion

-and-

2. Assume that I am a dichotomy of being a great guy and being a prejudiced and bigoted asshole (my words on the latter). You see the quality of the former and decide it's worth your time to try and get me see the errors in my way of the latter.

I am not a racist, Larry. Not even close. If Leadbelly or TonyRoma were lingering, they could vouch for this in cyberspace. In person, I could introduce you to a considerable number of people (consisting of a variety of races and viewpoints) who could vouch for this.

You've allowed yourself to be an open-book on this blog, Larry. Ultimately, this is a good quality. However, what I just learned is that you have an inherent prejudice toward people who espouse a conservative worldview.

If you truly are a work-in-progress, add a likely prejudice toward Conservatives to your list.

Sincerely,

JeffJ

Does Obama Have America's Interests at Heart?

yes

Does Obama Have America's Interests at Heart?

NO--hell NO!

In the end, I think he does not.

Neither does McCain.

They both serve themselves first and foremost, and will step on anyone's head to get ahead. I'd go so far as to say they'd go out of their way to do so.

Just like any other member of the human race.

I have to go with Zat with this one:
Enjoy extinction.

There comes a time when we must ask ourselves, has any candidate really had our best interests at heart?

Think and think hard.

Four years from now, will everyone be pi$$ed off and wanting to "vote the ba$tard$ out?"
