Federal prosecutors moved Monday to delay indefinitely the sentencing of convicted fundraiser Antoin "Tony" Rezko, sending their strongest hint yet that he is ready to spill his political secrets.

The filing asks for a postponement while prosecutors and defense attorneys "engage in discussions that could affect their sentencing postures."

wonder if this is where the lady in the blue pantsuit slides back into the race?

stay tuned...

"Is Rezko Getting Ready to Spill on Obama?"

'Whitey Tape' redux.

Reading current Republican political discourse, there are these themes:

1) Common Americans don't understand the economy and only think they're hurting; or if the economy is in fact hurting it's their fault. When they smarten up they'll vote Republican.

2) Somewhere out there, someplace, is someone Obama knew who is so purely evil Americans will turn against him in the election.

Yes, that's about it. Pretty sad.

"Lady in thee blue pantsuit...."

I imagine that's a much too important a story for NANC to do ought but tease with it.

However, I hope it's a story about alleged adultery. I wonder if NANC could possibly guess why?

hey - i've been saying all along her heinous would find a way back in - rezko would just be one more person she could pardon at the end of her term.

Oh, I see---It's a Hillary fantasy. Yawn.

no - i hate the thought of her. had a "stop her" campaign going awhile back.

NANC---In all seriousness----I'm constantly hearing the "Americans are stupid" theme played on Right-wing radio.

This fascinates me. In the first place, they would excoriate a Democrat for doing that. Secondly, these "stupid" Americans are the same ones they desperately want to vote Republican.

Is Rezko Getting Ready to Spill on Blago?

FTFY

for the conspeorists:

they behind closed doors with rezko - full pardon - drop a dime on snowjobama.

stranger things have happened.

the "Americans are stupid" theme

As an elite effete Liberal snob with a private college education but no real money to speak of, please let me be the first to tell them.

That theme won't work.

Are you having THAT wet dream again, cranc?

It's possible that this information will sway some, but more likely it will only assuage some of the misgivings for those who were going to vote for Sen. McCain anyway.

More and more these days, it seems the American public is becoming increasingly weary of "terror threats", "scandals", and other "gotcha's". The Republicans have gone to those wells too often so that that kind of information is either not believed and/or does not have the same impact.

The Republican voters might want to cling to this news as a sliver of hope in a rather bleak situation (or as a way to smugly lick their wounds after November 4th). However, it seems the reality is Sen. Obama will be "bloodied" (at best), but elected.

stranger things have happened.

wtf are you talking about hbd? what dump? i've never "whined" to rcade about ANYTHING. NEVER. go ask him for yourself.

perhaps my stalker "moder8" is up to no good again.

If Obama is indicted, it'll have to happen quickly to affect the election as if he is elected, prosecution would be delayed until he completed his term of office. It would be hilarious to have a criminal indictment of a Democrat by the State of Illinois, and possibly the feds of a person occupying the oval office, particularly since the lefties have been inveighing so much against Bush and seeking filing of criminal charges against him. If Obama were indicted, it would certainly be ironic.

Then if he were convicted, would he be given prison time? Would it be a "country club" federal pen? I think that if you are doing concurrent State time and federal time, if you are doing the time in a State institution, you receive concurrent credit for your federal time, while if you are doing your time in a federal prison, your State time is unaffected. Part of the "deal," might be to enable the State and federal terms to run concurrently rather than consecutively by sentencing Obama to one of these facilities. www.idoc.state.il.us If the crimes charged were non-violent, he'd probably be an inmate in a minimum security unit rather than a correctional center. Now Michelle could maintain the family relationship under the rules to which there is a link on this site. www.idoc.state.il.us

Would "Tony Rezko" be willing to earn the cognomen of "Tony the Rat" so as to escape imprisonment. Probably, as since Tony was associating with politicians, he knows whose well-being really really matters, and it is that of himself, so he'd earn the designation by an extended period of spilling his guts. His exchange if criticized by Obama for ratting him out, would probably be "What have you done for me lately?"

It'd be somewhat like a "Passion Play" as Obama, the Messiah, was brought down by a confidant, Rezko, before the official authorities.

Say for those of you inclined as is Minister Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam, to give credence to numerical coincidences, see here, the names (in English) of both betrayers, "Judas Iscariot" and Anthony Rezko," would contain 13 letters. Oops! Rezko's names only contain 12 letters. Xerxes, foiled again! There goes that theory. Triskaidekaphobia, where is thy sting? Time for Analysis B. Twelve letters. Phew! Obama dodged that bullet.

do you ever get the feeling you're in an episode of "wag the dog"?
