Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Tuesday, October 07, 2008

Republican strategists fear that an outpouring of public anger generated by Congress's struggle to pass a rescue package for the financial industry may contribute to a disaster at the polls for the GOP in November. "The worse the state's economy, the greater the impact," said Republican consultant Jan van Lohuizen.

It is starting to smell like Bob Dole II

I think McCain could have won but for the bailout. It's really pissing people off, and it's got his face all over it.

Bob Dole had (and has) class. McCain used to.

Bob Dole HAD class is correct until He raised a big ole stink about John Kerry's 3 purple hearts and pitched a bitch about the barely a scratch(According to Bob Dole) that never needed medical attention. Funny how Bob Dole conveniently forgets His FIRST Purple heart was for the same type of wound. He had thrown a granade at a farm house and it bounced from a tree and he got a shrapnel wound and it was barely a scratch. He had my respect until I heard that.

Larry

Ya, Larry

The Swift Boaters failed to mention one of his Purple Hearts was for gunshot wounds received when he reached over the side of a boat during a firefight to haul in a wounded comrade who would have died in the river had not Kerry acted.

Most of them also failed to mention they weren't "In Country" at the same time Kerry was.
The one who was-and claimed there WAS no action that day-his own report on the incident backed up Kerry at the time.

The Republican Party is a severely holed boat.

They can't bail fast enough.

This should be the caption contest photo.

My entry would be, 'I want virginia, waaaaa'.

Reminding us of the Swift Boats does make any defeat of Republicans all the better. If any party deserves to lose just based on their partisan behavior it is the Republican Party.

so how many vaginacrats voted for the bailout?

Pigs At The Trough...

"Bob Dole had (and has) class."

That's why I voted for him.

I think McCain could have won but for the bailout.

He was sinkin' before that. You betcha his bizarre preformance during it didn't make him any more loved on that Main Street he's bin talkin' about helpin', fer sure.

If any party deserves to lose just based on their partisan behavior it is the Republican Party.

OK, even in Bizzaro World this comment is too weird.

Danni, party is the same as partisan. That's why the words have so many letters in common .....

my brother predicted a year and a half ago that mccain was going to be the next president. i nodded my head in agreement as it did make sense. the dems, after all, can screw anything up.
however, perhaps due to mccain spending so much time reaching across the aisle, he's inherited some of the dem's political clumsiness.
the point of the clumsiness has to be palin.
if a man stood up at a vp debate and said that he 'wasn't going to answer the questions.. blah, blah...', he would've been laughed at from all corners by every pundit.
and the wink... yeah... that would've done well for gore, quayle and cheney, huh?
the fact that mccain picked someone who is so obviously so unqualified is beyond laughable.
as is the fact the there really are some 'joe 6-packs' swimming along with it.
weeks have gone by and now i am convinced that obama will win convincingly unless a huge october surprise occurs.
another attack or war, perhaps.
wouldn't put it past bush.
tis a friggin sad state we are in.
all the best.

Washington is broken and the voters blame republicans for this.

How accurate!

What did all those K-Street shenanagins get you GOP?

Muha ha ha ha ha!

"Danni, party is the same as partisan."

Technically not exactly true but still have it your way. Change partisan to treasonous.

Republican strategists fear that an outpouring of public anger generated by Congress's struggle to pass a rescue package for the financial industry may contribute to a disaster at the polls for the GOP in November.

Anger about a struggle TO pass a rescue package? How about anger BECAUSE OF passing the "rescue" package? The article only talks about Republicans, but I'm not voting for anyone that signed off on that shit regardless of party.

I thought McCain was going to win a few weeks ago. I was telling my father this and he said "Naw, the economy is going to be in real trouble and people won't want to vote for the Republicans anymore..."

He's been predicting financial gloom and doom for years now but this time he was right. Funny thing is, this crisis can't be blamed entirely on one party or on the government but the GOP seems to be taking the hit. Not that I feel bad for them considering everything else they've gotten away with recently......

We can't find $180 billion for health care, but we can burn a trillion in Iraq and another trillion for Wall Street in about a week.

The way both parties have synchronized story lines, wasted money without solving any problems, yet pretending to do so is sickening.

Its the same hypocritical reasoning (lies and superstitions) that has people fighting to save week old blastospheres and Terry Shiavo's while killing a million of people in a foriegn country.

Run these Rethuglicans out of town, but take down bailout Democrats out as well.

latest odds 9 to 1 favoring Obama, mostly thanks to Palin, being a right wing shill has had an effect, Thank You Sarah!

Actually they are different, which is something that the Pubs seem to forget. The idea should be that even though your party won, you are there to serve all the people, even the ones in the other party. You can have party loyalty and not be a partisan.

But I understand that might be a little too deep and subtle for the "Your either with us or against us" crowd.

Obama 349 McCain 174 Ties 15

Senate Dem 58 GOP 42

BUT

look at the senate page

there are 7 real battle ground contests
4 lean GOP
3 lean Dem

But lets look at these contests
Blue Leaning
Alaska has stevens the incumbent down by 4%,will alaska put him back in office? I dont think so
Oregon, Dem up by 4
NC Dem up by 2

Red leaning
MN Al Franken is down 1% MN has been trending Blue
MS and KY both 4% leaning towards Blue
GA is only a 2% lean to GOP

I think there is a VERY good chance the Dems could get the magic 60 Senators

GOP-Welcome to the desert.

"Funny thing is, this crisis can't be blamed entirely on one party or on the government but the GOP seems to be taking the hit."

Sorry, Clinton left a deficity, peace, low inflation, jobs, prosperity. The Republicans held majorities in both houses and the presidency, they are entirely responsible for what has happened on their watch. Plus, the financial mess has been predicted since the Bush tax cuts for the rich and the unfunded war began. It isn't rocket science.

Danni - Actually, I was saying that private individuals are at least as repsonsible as the government for this mess but thanks for reminding us all again that you're a partisan hack always willing to sprinkle around a few talking points.

Hey, last Dem go around, life in the states was better all around,
just saying, though there was, as there always is, other things that came into play -- like being in the right place at the right time.
Well, Bush was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and McCain/Palin would be wrong in any place at any time. So...
Hopefully we'll get to see what the dems can do, hopefully learning from their past mistakes, adapting to a new world where both conservative (true conservative, not faux fox news conservative) ideals can co-exist and work with liberal (true liberal, not faux fox news cliched' liberal ) ideals. As someone who's voted Republican in the past -- Giuliani was the perfect Mayor for New York at the time, while being the worst possible president we could have -- and someone who respects conservative authors and thinkers (Goldwater, Paul, Sullivan, Buckley), I feel saddened that conservatism has been reduced in the public square to Sarah Palin, the simpletons delight, wearing her incurious shallowness and intolerance as a badge of pride. Sarah Palin -- the enabler of the frightened and the unknowledgeable. Sarah Palin, the most dangerous human being walking the backstreets of America. She who must be sent to the dust bin, lest we all are -- to the tune of anti-American sentiment broadcast across the world's airwaves saying, see! see!, America really is really hell bent on a backward journey into terminal irrelevance. Their laughter and glee is revving up. My vote is to put the cork in their freaking mouths, shove their freaking laughter back down their gullets by sending Sarah home, where she can plot her next knownothing plot to rile up of the disaffected John Wayne enthralled cave people she calls her base. Love America. Vote for America. Fire the cocktail waitress.

"Danni - Actually, I was saying that private individuals are at least as repsonsible as the government for this mess but thanks for reminding us all again that you're a partisan hack always willing to sprinkle around a few talking points."

Sully, I'm just stating the obvious facts. Quite honestly, I have never felt as partisan against a president since Richard Nixon and the Vietnam War.
I did not think George H. Bush was a great president but he never destroyed this country the way his moronic son has. Ronald REagan was very misguided but I don't think he had the disdain for common Americans that this president does. I probably do sound pretty partisan but when you look at the massiveness of the problems we have due to this administration with the help of the Republicans I really feel justified by the fact.
Statistically it would be very easy to demonstrate that this administration has been the worst in history and really we can't yet even determine how much damage they have done.
Sorry, but if you aren't angry you aren't paying attention.

Sorry, but if you aren't angry you aren't paying attention.

I'm disappointed. I leave rage and anger to you.

Danni - Bush is the worst president I've seen. I'm not really a buff on presidential history but I imagine he's a leading contender for worst president ever. He's either a traitor or a total moron and I think its the former.

But he didn't create this latest disaster. This stuff takes years to ferment and was in the pipleline well before he took office. Additionally, the actions of private citizens are mostly to blame anyway. That said, we will be feeling the fallout of Bush's failed policies for years, if not decades, to come. When it happens, if there is a democrat in office the GOP will blame him and you'll be the one saying it isn't the current president's fault.

Bush will exit office in dignity and vindication.

moneycentral.msn.com

this chart says it all,

until the mid to late 80's there was a steady increas in the SE. from then until 1994 we have a steeper increase in the SE. following that we have a very large increase in the SE with the dip following 9/11

so what this appears to me is that there is a huge inflation or balloon there, extracting the original line you get a value of around 4,000 points which seems to match the inflation rate.

correct me if I am wrong, but wasnt the SE limited to investing in real businesses back in the day and from the early 80's investments were about creating money, value based on "imaginary" numbers, where investments didnt really go to companies but to derivatives and the like? thus the balloon

since the ponzi scheme is collapsing, shouldn the bottome end up being around 4,000?

A whole new level of crazy.

Bush will exit office in dignity and vindication.

Vindication?

too slow to stop 9/11
too negligent to help New Orleans
too corrupt to stop Enron
too poisonous to not torture
too incurious to understand iraq
too dishonest to not start a war of agression
too hubristic to bring OBL to justice
too foolish to stay out of Pakistan
too gay to confront Putin

etc.

he will leave dignified cause he doesnt care about you.

"Bush will exit office in dignity and vindication."

No.

Bush will exit office in Washington D.C.

FBI raided ACORN in Nevada for voter fraud probe.

"Bush will exit office in dignity and vindication."

You will not return to this blog with TakItEz as your username on Nov. 5th.

I believe that both parties are to blame for the problems we have. However, the Repubs were in control and so they have to shoulder the greater blame. If they had stayed true to conservative priciples, we would not be in this position anyway.

I also believe that the Dems will only make it worse. The good news is that in 4 years the shoe will be on the other foot. Having been in power, the Dems will be voted out.

I hope by then there are some true conservatives in the Repub party, or we can get some sort of valid libertarian candidate.

"Bush will exit office in dignity and vindication."

If he admits that he's been working for an enemy this whole time, then he will have his dignity and his actions will be vindicated.

Otherwise, he will be remembered as a buffoon. And not even a well intentioned one.

"God will vote on November 4th."

Not unless he has a valid picture I.D.

"Danni, party is the same as partisan."

It's no any wonder this country is going to hell in a hand-basket with all these aliens who don't understand our language.

"Bush will exit office in dignity and vindication."

No, he will leave in shame and disgrace, with decent folks howling for his hide.

"God is neither Republican nor Democrat."

Actually, he belongs to the Green party. Or maybe Peace and Freedom.

"God will vote on November 4th."

No, he'll be challenged for not having citizenship papers in order.

"God specializes in house cleaning and He cleansed some Republicans."

If he could make it to our house on Tuesdays, we pay $10/hour ...

"God exposed Bill Clinton but in mercy allowed Bill to finish his term."

Monic prayed. Hillary prayed. You can't beat that, even with Sarah.

"God is an equal opportunity exposer --- both Democrats and Republicans will be exposed if they fail."

And who decides? On the other hand, never mind.

"The White House will become a house of prayer."

Yeah, the sonovabitch will sell it to Pat Robertson in January. herm

Actually, God is the conerstone of this nation (liberals will deny it) and God gets to instate whoever He wishes to place in the White House.

God has promised to place a Black man as President one day --- but I am not sure if that time has come.

"God has promised to place a Black man as President one day "

When, where, and to whom?

"God is the co[r]nerstone of this nation"

Which is why the word God can be found throughout our constitution.

That's why God will give Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania to Osama

Vernon: still too stupid to know the difference.

I disagree Vernon. A Partisan is a Person who adheres to the ideals of a political Party 100%. You can belong to a a particular Party and yet be flexible in Your support of said Party therefore You are not a true Partisan.

Oh, back to the comedy.

Oh. the apologist for cowardly murderers and death squads.

Still a self-loathing latent, Pinche?

Oh, the homophobe hate monger who has nothing other in his shrunken quiver other than to yell "faggot".

Oh, you mean the Marxist-backed governments in Central America?

No, the 'phobe.

Pinche comes back night after night for his nightly ass kicking. Pinche why even bother when you always lose?

Oh, the geriatric piece of leftist shit that has to draw an equivocation between "death squads" and advancements of American interests as realized in foreign policy?

Pinche why even bother when you always lose?

For your self-destruct emails you sign with someone else's name.

You chickenshit motherfucker.

"Oh, you mean the Marxist-backed governments in Central America?"

Ah, so the ends justify the means, if the end is approved by Pinochet Mao. Thanks for the clarification, hypocrite.

Obviously if Bill Ayers had bombed abortion clinics, Pinochet Mao would be hailing him as a patriot.

Obviously if Bill Ayers had bombed abortion clinics, Pinochet Mao would be hailing him as a patriot

Except the act of bombing abortion clinics isn't quite the same thing as thwarting footholds of the most murderous ideology in human history on the North American continent---in the context of the foreign policy of the most powerful nation on earth.

Oh, the moral equivalence in lieu of intellect.

Oh, the Chomsky.

AMEN Pinche Mao at Number 73

Larry

"Except the act of bombing abortion clinics isn't quite the same thing as thwarting footholds of the most murderous ideology in human history on the North American continent-"

Like I said, the ends justify the means for Pinochet Mao, as long as he approves the ends.

Pinche what on earth are you talking about? Sometimes you come across as intelligent other times you sound like a raving madman.

Larry if you want to debate me then do it. Otherwise stop with the childish insults. You use a hit and run attack because that is all you have.

You know EXACTLY what Pinche Mao is saying Jackass/Hardcore/Messiah/ Rastaninja. I find it funny You have to either resort to using self destruct emails in emailing people or steal ideas from Lokisfur in using a certain TheHush email service. Not so funny Dat Be.

Larry

Why should I debate You Jackass/Hardcore/Messiah/ RastaNinja?? It would be a waste of My time wasting it with You.

Larry

Larry, Lokisfur was a good poster that you ran off. If I recall he defeated you more than once. He wouldn't have had to become Bowa if you would have just stopped harassing him.

Like I said, the ends justify the means for Pinochet Mao

...or for the national interest.

It means being something other than a chickenshit, spineless leftist whose worldview depends upon equivocation between a murderous, global Communist ideology and his own country.

Oh please Jackass/Hardcore/Messiah/ Rastaninja. He was a lying shmuck and I wiped the floor with him regularly. Oh and no matter how much shit I get I never once change handles unlike You and Him. Think what You will of Me I have not tried to pass Myself off as someone else. Please do try again.

I hope we get a taste of communism under BO

The cowardly hypocrite Pinochet has nothing but deflections. He doesn't object to terrorism at all. It just depends on the target. Abortion clinics: good. The Pentagon: bad.

Too bad Pinochet is too much of a coward to admit that his objection is not to Bill Ayer's tactics but only to his targets.

"I hope we get a taste of communism under BO"

Get lost, you phony.

deflections

That wasn't a deflection, dipshit.

It was a direct address of your assertion.

You place a few, random domestic bombings of abortion clinics on the same moral plane as a concerted projection of American power to thwart Marxist-backed power-grabs in Central America in the midst of the Cold War.

Its a great example of why shitbags like you (and Obama) should be taken as seriously as you are.

You don't represent the best interests of this country---or the free world in general.

You represent the searching for and squeezing of whatever "premises" you can find into the pre-fabricated mold of a 150 year-old Marxist conclusion.

That's how I train horses.

But their responses are biologically instinctive.

What's your excuse?

Bullshit. Are you man enough to admit that your only objection to Ayers is that he bombed the wrong targets? Or are you just going to hide behind your pile of ideological horseshit and justifications? What a coward.

Hey Pinche Mao. When the US Government does these thwarting of Marxist Governments in Central America aren't we doing the same thing?? Oh and what right do We have dictating the way other Countries do business?? You don't like it when DethSpud tells us what We are doing wrong yet You see no problems telling other Countries how they must run theirs. Not so funny dat Be.

Larry

You don't represent the best interests of this country---or the free world in general.

Sounds almost like Pinche is somehow trying to justify PNAC. I thought that ideology failed?

admit that your only objection to Ayers is that he bombed the wrong targets?

My objection to Ayers is that he violently attempted to undermine his own country.

I have no objection to bombing entities diametrically opposed to the fundamnental concepts of the American existence.

Again, moral equivalence isn't a substitute for intellect or valid argument.

But it appears that's all you have to bring to the table.

"My objection to Ayers is that he violently attempted to undermine his own country.

I have no objection to bombing entities diametrically opposed to the fundamnental concepts of the American existence."

So, just to clarify, you have no objections to his tactics, but only his targets. Right?

We have dictating the way other Countries do business??

You're goddamn right we do.

We're the preeminent military and economic power on earth.

And will be for some time.

We drive the global agenda.

We will dictate how other countries do business to the degree it serves our national interest.

Figuring out that "degree" is what you call "foreign policy".

But don't let your guilt and trendy self-loathing about being an American let you lose sight of the above truisms.

We're the preeminent military and economic power on earth.

not anymore we aren't. say hello to China. You need to wakeup and realize we aren't what we used to be.

So, just to clarify, you have no objections to his tactics

Setting bombs with the sole intent to kill innocent people to make a Marxist political point?

No wonder we are in trouble. Pinche Mao declares it's OK if We are the Bully as long as He gets what He wants. I guess the old adage is true. Blowback is a bitch and sometimes it hits twice as hard. We are too arrogant for our own good. We claim to be against Dictators and Dictatoral regimes but the US Government loves them when they do what the US Government wants. No wonder we are hated around the world.

Larry

not anymore we aren't. say hello to China.

Well then you go ahead and provide us with a comparative analysis of the economic and military prowess of China vs. the Unites States.

Google it.

Or send another self-destruct email.

Chickenshit motherfucker.

"Setting bombs with the sole intent to kill innocent people to make a Marxist political point?"

Too chicken to answer the question, I see.

I'll repeat it. Maybe you can find the guts to answer it honestly.

"So, just to clarify, you have no objections to his tactics, but only his targets. Right?"

Pinche Mao declares it's OK if We are the Bully as long as He gets what He wants

No, Larry.

Its OK to be the "bully" so long as our foreign policy pursues American interests.

China's miltary is growing by leaps and bounds and if you haven't heard China will own us in a few years. China has about a billion people. don't think for a second we would be able to roll over them. Plus they have nukes.

Too chicken to answer the question, I see.

I just did.

Setting bombs with the sole intent to kill innocent people to make a Marxist political point is a despicable tactic.

So is attempting to draw moral equivalence to such a thing with concerted projection of American power to thwart Marxist-backed power-grabs in Central America in the midst of the Cold War.

It simply underscores what a despicable and inherently anti-American ideology you harbor.

I just love it. Pinche Mao sees no problems dictating to other Countries how they should run their Countries but rue the day if they try and tell us how to run ours. The Height of Arrogance. That will be the downfall of America Greed and Glutony.

Larry

A closer look at China's military spending raises profound questions about China's geopolitical direction. In terms of purchasing power parity (PPP), China's effective military spending is far greater than $45 billion, or even the U.S. Department of Defense's $105 billion estimate.[4] In fact, it is in the $450 billion range, putting it in the same league as the United States and far ahead of any other country, including Russia.[5] This figure reflects the reality that a billion dollars can buy a lot more "bang" in China than in the United States.

Within a decade, perhaps much sooner, China will be America's only global competitor for military and strategic influence. Director of National Intelligence Michael McConnell told the Senate on February 27 that the Chinese are "building their military, in my view, to reach some state of parity with the United States," adding that "they're a threat today, they would become an increasing threat over time."

Funny to see Larry scolding others for gluttony.

Hey, lardass, remember the tsunami a few years ago? The one in the Indian Ocean?

The entire fucking world said "What is America going to do?" America led the relief efforts and now the tsunami station in Hawaii monitors the Indian Ocean -- even though it has no effect on the United States.

If the world expects America to act first, then guess what? They have to take directions from us. The world wants to be our dog, they just don't want to take commands.

I'm perfectly fine with throwing out all the Republicans. What I find curious is that all the Dems are perfectly content with returning all their reps to Congress.

In this financial meltdown, both the Bush Administration and the Democratic members of the House Financial Services Committee were complicit. Come January, the former will be headed home, while the latter will be returned, to work their magic yet some more. Just how incompetent and moronic does Barney Frank have to get, before the people in his district have had enough? Even were you to turn a blind eye to his personal life, doesn't the meltdown of Fannie and Freddie, to the tune of trillions of dollars, constitute reason enough to vote to bring him home?

Guess not.

The world wants to be our dog, they just don't want to take commands.

That was well put, actually.

"The world wants to be our dog, they just don't want to take commands."

Probably because they believe we are becoming China's dogs. And they prefer to deal with China directly.

"We run the world."

At one point in history, by proxy and indirectly, this may have been true.

Now? Not true at all.

Come to think of it, why should we want to run the world?

No, I'm actually asking here, because I really don't see the point.

See if they want to trade, we'll trade, sure.
If they want to rattle sabres at us, we can just yawn and ignore them.
Now, if they're actually foolish enough to do something, we posthole their nation. No warning, nothing. You do to us, and we've given you no reason to do so? We end you. Simple.

Bit simple, sure, and maybe a bit over dramatic, I admit. But hell, why not do it that way?

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
hahahahahhaha.........hahahaha
hahhahahahahahah.......HAHAHAH
AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHAH. Chickens coming home to roost. Karma is indeed a bitch. And I hope FOX news is choking on that little bit of info. No wonder O'Reilly and Hannity are writing more books than Stephen King (Proud member of Redsox Nation)....that will be their only source of income when FOX news changes their format to Spike TV 2.
