Doesn't all of our money have the phrase "In God We Trust" written right on it? So, do we "trust" in God or don't we?

In God we trust.

All others must pay cash.

The oldies are the goodies.

depends on whose interpretation of God you want to use.

If you mean the ones that would rather kill the mother than allow her to have an abortion, then no. Or if you mean the one that will tell someone to strap-on a vest full of C4 and blow up whoever happens to be there, then no.

The God listed on the money is a representation of all the names of God, just like the Deists that wrote it believe. You guys do know that the founders of our country were Deists don't you? I believe it was FDR, another deist, that brought us our current money design. He was also a mason, hence all the masonic stuff on there.

But that requires too much thinking for modern americans (and pretend americans), go ahead and kill each other.

Trust but verify.

Bless Me with Your "In God We Trust" monies and I will send You a blessed prayer cloth for Your heavenly prosperity.

We already know how the "story" ends... But, I too am looking forward to a little comic relief...I mean besides Mr Magoo and Sarah the Demon Huntress that is! ((wink!))

While Ms. Waite is in rehab, Helen Dye is our acting credit manager.

Rock on!

I would be in favor of variations of In Allah we Trust--In Buddha We Trust--In God We Trust--In Satan We Trust--In Zeus We Trust---In Ra We Trust--and on and on.

Narrowing it down to just "God" promotes one religion over another, and is not what was envisioned by the founders---that's why God isn't in the Constitution.

Here is the only one that works:

In 2% of Us We Trust

The rest of you are fucked.

'Doesn't all of our money have the phrase "In God We Trust" written right on it?"

Not originally.

It's been down hill since that crap crept on the currency.

In God we trust....all others we polygraph (etched in stone at Langley)

Later, ...

i still trust in God, although i doubt highly He still trusts in u.s.

which brings me to the story of noah - who of the two had more trust in the other?

-that's why God isn't in the Constitution.#11 | Posted by Buffalo_Bob at 2008-10-06 10:23 PM | Reply

Except this little Founding Fathers' ditty:
"We are endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights, among them are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

Sorry Kirk, they weren't talking about Abraham's imaginary friend.

And that's from the Declaration of Independence, anyway.

Sorry, Kirk, but there ain't no "God" (or "Creator" or "Old Boy in the Sky" or "Tooth Fairy") in the Constitution of the United States of America.

As has been pointed out, that phrase is not in the Constitution. In addition, I doubt God gave Jefferson permission to speak for him. God never gives anyone the right to life, liberty, or the pursuit of happiness.

"Nature and Nature's God" is the phrase in the Constitution.

Abraham's imaginary buddy ain't in there.

The movie opens at Megidda.
Maher interviews a variety of people of various religions. The priest at the Vatican Observatory was actually pretty cool. The Mormons were the biggest assholes.

Two ankles up!
