I miss not knowing if it is a red terror alert day, a yellow or a chartuese kind of terror day.

Ron White has come up with the best Alert system yet.
"Instead of five stages, I would only have two alert stages," White said.
"Number one: Get a damn helmet.
Number two: Put the damn helmet on."

one of my favorite political cartoons had Tom Ridge digging into a bag of M&Ms for the day's color code.

The color has been brown for quite some time now. This is due to the fact that this whole alert thing is a bunch of shit.

The Terror Color ALerts were invented not to keep us safe an alert. It was used to keep the Bushites scared so they would vote for Him. Did You notice they disapeared right after Dubya "Won" What igoramouses.

I miss the terror alert color chart
I don't. I thought it was one of the most stupid ideas to come out of Bush's phony "war on terror."

The Terror Alert Color Codes were a campaign tool. They were used to keep dumb people dumb in order for them to vote for Dubya. NOTHING more. Didn't You hear Tom Ridge declare that they were used for Political reasons. Hell if some dumb hayseed from Kansas could figure it out ANYONE Could have.

Larry,
I think the terror-alert codes were ineffective.
However, they were borne out of real security concerns.
9-11 happened. It was real. Our government has to figure out a way to minimize the likelihood of something like it, or worse, from happening again.
It was designed to heighten the average citizen's awareness when certain indicators suggested an increased likelihood of an attack. Unfortunately, it quickly became like 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf'.
Please remember 9-11 and don't lose sight of the fact that we face a genuine threat from this cancer.

Keep up with Your delusions that this Government under Dubya was trying to keep us safe. You have bought into their propaganda and You are stuck. That is OK but some of us live in the realities of life. Even Me if You can believe that.

My comment was non-partisan.
Many of Bush's national security initiatives have been a bust, at best.
My biggest concern is that the left, in their visceral hatred for all things Bush, successfully goes to such absurd levels in terms of denying the danger we face that our government formulates policy under such ignorance.
We face a very real threat. If 9-11 doesn't convince you of that, I don't know what will. On this front, I don't care which party succeeds, as long as this threat is seriously regarded.

I sincerely believe 9-11 was either an inside Job or allowed to happen to facilitate the much needed anger necessary to garner the support of the AMerican People in going along with a War in Afghanistan. (Natural Gas Pipeline from the Caspian Basin and all that) I also believe that 9-11 was allowed to happen to facilitate the Crude Oil war in Iraq. The Global War on Terror is a cover up for the REAL reason. tThe outright theft of the Natural Resources in each Country. It's a carbon copy of what Hitler did. Reichstag Fire(WTC Pentagon) Garner the necessary support for a resource war in Poland. Keep the Populace afraid by using terror. The Patriot Act was their enabiling act. No difference same song and dance.

And what has been done to prevent such an occurrence from happening again?
A questionable unregulated black listing of "no flying."
There has not been one defensive protective preventative measure created by this administration that would actually prevent such an occurrence from happening again.
There has been a whole lot of policy measures and actions that have created more terrorists not less.
It is no longer a cold war of communism fear, this administration has created a terrorist terrorism war of increasing magnitude while moving our nation closer to an ideal of communism style of wanting. Let's create a whole lot more poor people, it is moving us in the proper direction...

It did seem strange that when ever Shrubbies popularity tanked, the threat level went up a notch. Followed closely by an address by the Prez. "I am fighting the good fight against the terrorists that are screwing with my image." Just how many times has that one occurred?

The fact that our borders are still open is the only thing that has to be pointed to in order to show what a SHAM homeland security is.
