At least you fuckers have a professional football team to root for. There is not one football fan in this town that can tell you why there isn't a team playing in the LA Coliseum this Sunday. The closest we come is USC and UCLA. Even the JC colleges and high school games on Friday night sell out, yet no pro team? I became a Raiders fan when they were briefly here, but there's no way I'm moving to Oakland.

Fox News has stopped even trying to be an objective News source, saw a program today about the economy an yes according to the FIXED NOISE NETWORK, its all the Democrats fault. Every since the Debate every show on Fox News and the Fox Business Channel has felt the need to bring up Mr. Ayers an his connection to Senator Obama. The 24/7 News Network called Fox thinks they have an issue that will help Sen. McCain, an expect them to slam Obama every chance they get from now till the election.

We have Two Wars going on, the Economy is in the tank an the Right Wing Media thinks that they can turn the Election around for Sen. McCain if they just convince the American people that Sen. Obama is really a TERRIORIST, AN LOVES TERRIORIST......

The Right Wing Media sees the writing on the wall they know that Sen. McCains campaign is in the toilet, now they will be geting in that same toilet to try an save his chances for the Presidency. The SLIME merchants are ready to once again try to make this election about everything except the ISSUES!!!!

I saw some clips of the show. It was funny stuff.

I wanted to take this opportunity to chime in on Ifill's performance in the debate, particularly in light of her book and the controversy surrounding her involvement.

I watched the whole debate and didn't get the sense she favored one over the other. She wasn't "the story" which is something some folks had intital concerns about.

That doesn't mean she was proper by concealing her book. And, for what it's worth, I suspect the McCain camp probably learned of it later but held that info till the last day in order to generate sympathy for Palin. SPUD, did you or anyone hear as to how her book deal ultimately became news - who "leaked" it?

If you actually bothered to look up what her book is about you might not being looking so bad about this statement.

Don't judge a book by its cover, it may not be about the actual title.

Why is she supposed to assume the Republicans don't know what's already been featured on Fox News?

AP did a story on it, Fox did a piece on it, and---weeks later---the McCain camp agreed to Ifill.

She should have said something. It could have been looked into and found to be benign. But she didn't reveal something which someone associated with "vetting" a moderator would want to weigh. I don't know the vetting process. Does it include an anal exam like with a SCOTUS nominee? Nope, but it probably does include some cursory questioning. Her book became "the story" for a while and it shouldn't have come to that.

I really don't see mileage in debating Ifill at this juncture. I was only offering a comment that she performed admirably. While acknowledging that, I offered a thought on something she, in retrospect, should have done... as well as something I suspect the McCain camp knew and withheld till the last minute in order to creat sympathy for Palin.

Does anyone happen to get "Flashback" on the radio over the weekend? Bill St James (the voiceover guy for the Olympics) hosts the show, which has a theme each week. This week was 1982.

Along with 1982 rock songs, they also mix in commercials & news stories of that year. I happened to catch a piece on some congressional pages... and some sexual or other odd behavior involving congressmen.

The congressional names apparently weren't released, at least in the clip aired today. Regardless, one congressman's audio quote, denying the accusation, was aired. Guess who?

The winner receives one free pass to the Minneapolis rest room of their choice.

The Detroit Lions are a pathetic franchise. But, the fans still fill the stadium and it was fun. Sigh....but, no relief in sight.

Nah, they were sandbagging-they knew about the book. If Palin had been as bad as they feared, they would have swamped the rightwingnut media with the excuse that Gwen had it in for her. McCadaver has a solid background in preparing for defeat.

I'm Keith and I more or less approved this statement-sort of-maybe.

Relax and enjoy your lives because everything was all fucked up but, Shrubbie fixed it with the help of our sub-leaders. Resume life spend money(see #31) do things. Oh and sorry about you losing your job. But don't worry because all is well. Don't PANIC. Nothing to see here.
