In sum, Americans hate the way the country has been ruled, the economic crisis is making them hate that more by the minute, and the country has been dominated by Republican rule for the last eight years -- at least. It's just this simple:

A Country in Shambles,Under GOP Rule

January 2001 thru January 2007

The Congress

The Senate

The White House
~ Both Branches

After Bush, we can --- on a good day --- aspire to shamblehood.

Oh, c'mon, fellas...The Osama and terrerizm have both been defeated.

And the economy will be fixed fer the bargain-basement price of 700 bil.

Does it really matter who gets the goldmine and who gets the shaft, as long as the economy survives?

Your citizenship card should be revoked.

Dave,

Can I buy some of what you are smoking?

FDR knew the recipe. Henry Ford knew the recipe. A strong and educated middle class promotes prosperity for the entire nation.

So screwing over the middle class in favor of the elite is supposed to lead the way to prosperity?

You are insane. Without the middle class, there is no economy. The middle class is the economic engine that drives America.

Jimmy

I believe Dave was being dryly cynical..

You know it's amazing the right continually blame the Democratic Left for everything. Since they do that doesn't that mean in effect that they are calling themselves less than ADULT?? If this is so then shouldn't we relegate the Republican Conservatives at the small table and thereby not ever vote for them since they can't accept responsibility for their actions??

Larry

No r'tard should ever be taken at their word.
they should be tied down and beaten to FORCE them to accept the responsibility for their own actions.
In my wildest dreams-they are (after this election)-left out of Government on a National level-for at least a Generation for their screw-ups.

"I believe Dave was being dryly cynical.."

Yes...

Yes I was.

Just damn.

Sorry Dave.

'S'ok, Jimmy.

But as far as what I'm smoking goes, it is, indeed, the best.

My guy refers to it as "G-13 Blueberry".

This country will get even worse if John McCain is elected.

"The country was doing fine until the democrats took over congress" - Koolaidfree.

Then it wasn't Bush and Cheney at all who screwed us for six years before then? Interesting.

Here's your fundamentals Johnny Boy!!!

Greenwald is exactly right. I watched Peggy Noonon on Meet the Press with my son, we sat and laughed out loud at that pompous, holier than thou, pretentious asshole Noonan try to spin Palin as something other than unqualified, unintelligent, uninformed. Lately the spin seems to be that she will be up to speed on foreign policy, economic policy, etc. in a few more weeks. What is so ridiculous and dishonest about that is that most well informed Americans who aren't even governors are far better informed than Palin is. Whe would be considered one of the dumb people in most normal offices.

What I love is that their apologists want to pretend that they haven't been in charge this whole time. They want to elect total morons into the top positions, but then they pretend that the people holding those offices have no power.

In 2006 the Democrats in Congress told the electorate to give them the power to perform their "oversight" responsibilities more forcefully by electing them into a majority in Congress. We did that. Then in 2008, the financial system collapsed, and we discover that it was due to a lack of oversight of certain agencies like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that certain Republicans had been trying to impose stricter regulations upon for years, but had always been blocked by the minority lead by the likes of Barney Frank (D) and Chris Dodd (D).

Seems that the "minority" had been effectively blocking regulation of these ticking timebombs for years. And now they claim they need a monopoly on power. Right. Like Hugo Chavez needed a monopoly on power to make his Socialism for the 21st Century. That, and a couple of simple "Constitutional" changes...

Totalitarians always claim they haven't enough power to execute their utopian schemes and that when things went wrong, they hadn't the "power" to prevent it.

Message to Democrats... Our system only operates when two sides cooperate. Even the minority party can block any change from occuring in the Senate, which is what the Democrats in the minority have been doing all these years.

This country was brought to it's knees alright... by the asshole Democratic minority party that prevented Fannie and Freddie from being adequately regulated.

" but had always been blocked by the minority lead by the likes of Barney Frank (D) and Chris Dodd (D)."

You're referring to a committee where the Republicans held the majority votes.

"Even the minority party can block any change from occuring in the Senate, which is what the Democrats in the minority have been doing all these years."

The all-time record holders for blocking are the current crop of Republicans.

"the asshole Democratic minority party that prevented Fannie and Freddie from being adequately regulated."

Republicans had it within their power to do whatever they wanted. They toyed with changing the filibuster rule regarding judgeships; they certainly could have done it in this case.

Farmer John, I think if you can just post that talking point a few more times you will win the elction for McBush.

These right wing tools are getting desperate.

My guy refers to it as "G-13 Blueberry".

You may keep your citizenship card, but i'll need to take that from you (snatching g-13 from Dave).
carry on.

.......when will the Republicans take responsibility for the damage they have done.?.....

Don't be silly. It's not like Republicans have been in charge for eight years (longer, actually). We are reaping the benefits of the "accountability" Presidency, whose response to everything they've fucked up is, "it was the other guy; we were helpless to do anything, veto anything, etc."

Bullshit.
