and for what?

and for what?

So Iranian president and all round whackjob Amandapajamas can be greeted as a superstar in baghdad, while Bush has to sneak in and out, or land in the middle of nowhere. But McCadaver says he won't put up with that for more than a hundred years.

For the love of money.

For the love of OIL.

I was drafted in 1968 right after the Tet Offensive. After I was in basic training for a few weeks they took a few of us in a room and told us that we could be helicopter pilots in 90 days. I turned down the offer because it seemed somewhat dangerous. Sometimes, though, I wonder what it would have like, flying low, shooting rockets and mini=guns, and landing in combat zones...cool!

15,000 Hueys were shot down in Nam. That's why they turned around new pilots in 90 days.

ZED,

A week later they offered me an OCS Comission as a 2nd Lt. Infantry Officer, also referred to as a 90 day wonder. What were those odds?

GOOD=GOOD-GOOD!!!

ANTICADILLAC,

Calm down, put on your vest and go blow up a Mosque.

Hate to tell you but we lose helicopters and aircraft in routine training also, comes with the territory.

Fat White Thom, I wish you could've been a MediVac pilot, carrying parts of bodies out of Cambodia. You little pussy, you don't have the nuts to be a Marine, so go fuck yourself with that tiny pencil you call a dick.

Man I just love Blackhawks...screaming fast baby! Yeah! I'll be back in Baghdad in eight more months and look forward to kicking some more ass. Or maybe it will change and I'll get to fight Talibanistas this time.

(Sits back and opens a beer after chumming the water)

Oh yeah. Go die Anticadillac.

(stir, stir)

SNARK,

Thanks for your service. The day I was drafted and after we had to take that final step forward, we were told that we were all in the Army, and we all cheered because they were drafting into the Marines at that time. So, I get your point.

Ironically, after turning down that helicopter pilot job and Infantry Officer job, I ended up seeing plenty of combat anyway.

If any question why we died,

Tell them, because our fathers lied.

**** I ended up seeing plenty of combat anyway.

.......beating your wife on Saturday nights at the trailer park does not count as combat......

Truthhurts, I prefer this..

"We write our own; no one does it for us.
Only those who have been there know the score.
The pay was good, but thousands more before us
Would testify note-counting's but a chore.
Adrenalin, adrenalin that courses
Along the blood as bullets do's the key.
Shouts, cracks, burning buildings were the sources
Of the hot joy that made us die or dee."

I might have missed something, but did they touch mid-air and then crash or was it two separate incidents?

Same incident. I'm sure the army avaiation safety folks will be all over this one.

***************** News Flash ****************************

Gaff master smokin Joe Biden has just claimed he was there and barley escaped in a hail of gunfire...

Here is his little cambric frock
That I laid by in lavender so sweet,
And here his tiny shoe and sock
I made with loving care for his dear feet.

I fold the frock across my breast,
And in imagination, ah, my sweet,
Once more I hush my babe to rest,
And once again I warm those little feet.

Where do those strong young feet now stand?
In flooded trench, half numb to cold or pain,
Or marching through the desert sand
To some dread place that they may never gain.

God guide him and his men to-day!
Though death may lurk in any tree or hill,
His brave young spirit is their stay,
Trusting in that they'll follow where he will.

They love him for his tender heart
When poverty or sorrow asks his aid,
But he must see each do his part -
Of cowardice alone is he afraid.

I ask no honours on the field,
That other men have won as brave as he -
I only pray that God may shield
My son, and bring him safely back to me!

An accident within the context of a larger accident in history.

And that is called paying the Dane-geld; but we've proved it again and again, that if once you have paid him the Dane-geld you never get rid of the Dane.

Was McCain piloting these helicopters too?

We have oil in Alaska, lots of Oil in Canada, lots of oil offshore in the US. For What? Dunno!
