I've made a few contacts into Europe on 20 meters, but I just can't seem to get any into Asia.

This past week a couple of proto sunspots from the new cycle 24, but they faded away.

In fact, we are at a transition point between the end of cycle 23 and the beginning of cycle 24. Although it is not uncommon to see short periods of time where there are no observable sunspots, the current period of low sunspot activity is unusual. What will be interesting to see is whether or not the number of sunspots begins to increase in the near future. The longest period of time, approximately 63 years, where there were no visible sunspots was during the period known as the "Maunder minimum." It coincided with one of the coldest periods in recent Earth history.

Please get an education. The sun is the primary source of climate change.[NOTE: Over the millennium we have had hot and ice ages and mankind could have not been a factor. Also note that we have recently found that the ice caps on Mars are currently melting/receding - also not 'our' fault.]

I've never understood Conservative hostility toward Climate Change and other similar issues. Another news story today said that 1 in 4 mammals faces extinction. Why would anyone react to this with anger or skepticism? They want to spend billions to prevent a highly unlikely terrorist attack, but essentially ignore the looming threat to the environment. What gives?
