Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

A senior adviser to Sen. John McCain confirms to CNN that the campaign is "shifting resources" from Michigan to Ohio and Pennsylvania, and "opening up an offensive front" in Maine. "Michigan isn't even a long shot," the aide says.

McCain gives up on Michigan

I think that many people in Michigan feel as thought for years politicians in both sides of the aisle at atl levels of government, have given up on the State. The Federal Government doesn't seem to pay too much attention to the concerns of many people here and the local "leadership" at Lansing is lacking, to say the least.

Repubs should stay out of Mich as it is a good 'experiment' in liberalism gone amok. Observe, but do not touch (contaminated)lol.

Michigan gives up on McCain.

McCain gives up on Michigan
Michigan gives up on McCain.
Michigan tells McLame to take a long walk off of a short pier....
We don' need no more steenkin' repubs......
Got all we can handle, thank you very much.

I HEARD THAT HE STARTS LOOKING FOR A RETIREMENT HOME....

Joe Obiden came out confused, made some huge blunders. The grandstanding on Vice President duties was the best. He was factually wrong on this and Obama's voting record.

But now it's on the web, so the lie will live on.

michiganistan will soon be conquered territory.

"michiganistan will soon be conquered territory."

Yeah, that 2% Muslim population, quite the threat.
Make sure when you go to bed tonight not to turn off all the lights.

"The grandstanding on VP duties was the best...."

You mean, when Biden told us what everyone already knows, that Cheney is dangerous?

Biden said the VP should follow the Constitution. What a concept. No wonder some dislike him.

Today Michigan tomorrow Ohio etc. McSame's house of cards is proceeding to it's logical conclusion.

Joe Obiden came out confused, made some huge blunders. The grandstanding on Vice President duties was the best. He was factually wrong on this and Obama's voting record.

You are nuts. Sorry, I mean you really have no clue, whatsoever. Stop embarrassing the Right.

There's a strong belt of Republistanis in mid michigan and around lansing and in the Mitt. Remember, it was in yupper michigan that Hickabee delivered the orders on not choosing Rudi or the Flipster or Tom Ridge to Mcsame. But does these mean I won't see any more Mccadaver is gonna drill the auto industry back to life ads? Bummer.
Not.

And ACLU-Biden nailed palin on the Vepp better than anything else in the debate. She was very much on the wrong side with Cheney. And her "I was joking in July" was, itself, a joke.

"When I was a POW, I didn't have Michigan's 17 electoral votes, either."

Biden was wrong on the Constitution but liberals are too embarassed to bring this matter up. Not ready.

Sarah Palin is ready for the veep and she will serve with the 44th.

Michigaians, Zondervan is publishing a biography of Sarah Palin to be out on October 10.

Pennsylvania's pretty much off the table too. John better get back to Florida before it gets out of reach too. Good thing he picked a Veep from a tiny state that usually goes GOP, instead of Crist or Ridge, or his campaign might have been in trouble.

Biden said the VP should follow the Constitution. What a concept. No wonder some dislike him.

How are we gonna make money if we are limited by that 200 yr old piece of paper? I need new seat covers for my private plane. Who cares what the small people need.

---the right----

Obama will win mich, ohio, pennsylvania, viginia and florida.

FACT!!!!

Good thing he picked a Veep from a tiny state that usually goes GOP, instead of Crist or Ridge, or his campaign might have been in trouble.

You forget Romney. I don't think he'd be leaving Michigan if he had picked Romney, and as you point out, Alaska would still be in the bag.

FF.

I predict that TakItEz has another month on this board.

I predict that TakItEz has another month on this board.

Unless Mcsame gives up on the Retort, too. Not investing any more autographed toaster ovens here. If that happens half the Mcmaniacs who post here will join Bowa in the MIA column.

Now that is good news!!!

Since Takeashitski owns the exclusive rights to Jesus and God, can the people that still believe in Jesus and God stay and give opinions on religious matters?

I'm just trying to figure out when he leaves, does he take Jesus with him or can i still talk about Him?

join Bowa in the MIA column.

Oh yeah...I forgot all about that guy.

The Economy if fundamentally strong, that is why the economy los 159k nonfarm jobs last month.

Republicans should probably rejoice than Surrender McCadaver isn't going to start making confession tapes for the Obama campaign too.

John is still investing heavily in the States of Denial and Delusion.

I live in MI and I do not get why people here continue to vote for the Dems. Look at the mess they have made of our state... Yet the people in Detroit continue to vote for them and we continue to suffer.

This is why I continue to say that if you do not pay income taxes you should not be able to vote.

Sara 'Failin' Palin wants MORE power than Dick Cheney!

Be afraid of the Mukluk Messiah who pawned her infant son off to her smallest daughter last night instead of at least pretending she gave a fuck.

This election gives us a great opportunity. Never before has the distinction between the two candidates been so stark. The choice is so obvious that only those who are committed to the wholesale demolition of the United States would vote for John McCain. Therefore, I propose that those who cast a vote for John McCain be prohibited from voting in the future. This measure would allow us to filter the opinions of the informed and educated voters from those who are merely right-wing morons who pull the lever marked "R" without a coherent thought in their heads. The future of America is in so much peril that we simply cannot allow those who are not capable of serious evaluation of the issues to have a voice anymore.

KNOWSTOOMUCH- Did you really waste your time writing that? I feel like I wasted my time reading it.

But about this thread, I did a quick search of the site, and I didn't find any discussion about Obama pulling resources from Georgia when the poll #'s got out of reach. It wasn't the end then, and it's not the end now. But, it is Obama's race to lose now.

One day a Black President will come.

One day a female President will come.

Very soon McCain will be sworn in as the 44th --- partly as a gift to George Bush who followed the leading of God and removed Saddam Hussein from power --- liberals cannot see ahead what harm Saddam would have committed had he not been removed; but God can and for the good of mankind, God removed Saddam from life on earth.

and for the good of mankind, God removed Saddam from life on earth.

So much for "free will".

Oh, Michigan..... a revolution and prosperity will return to you --- a concept car (revolution) will emerge and become a catalyst. If you can, hang on to your real estate properties, because their value will rise again.

Hi to Calvin College and Calvin Seminary --- sad your state is turning liberal.

Takeitez- You sound as if you're reading tea leaves.

Alex.... yes, 'free will', but there is also such a thing as judgment: remember Sodom and Gomorrah. God retains the prerogative to declare to anyone: THIS FAR AND NO FARTHER.

God didn't take out Saddam.

We did.

God used Babylon to punish Judah. God used the USA to punish Saddam. God uses humans for His purposes.

Bush was the Decider.

McCain is the Quitter.

Palin Criticizes McCain Decision on Michigan
In an interview with Fox News, Gov. Sarah Palin criticized Sen. John McCain's decision "to pull campaign resources out of Michigan, saying she and her husband Todd would 'be happy' to campaign in the economically distraught battleground state."

Palin said that when she read the news, she "fired off a quick e-mail and said, 'Oh come on, do we have to?'"

God uses humans for His purposes.

God's a pimp?

What an asshole John McCain is !! Even if he is pulling out of Michigan and conceeding it to Obama, Why woulk the Dumb-fuck announce it and go public with it?

Republicans are running the worst campaign of my life. I hope McCain blows a fuse Tuesday night and makes himself look like the bitter angry old man he really is underneath his put on appearance.

God uses humans for His purposes.

Apparently he uses Satan too. Since he created Lucifer and he is omniscient, he had to know what Lucifer would become.

But now you are telling me that God evil too, or rather, things he specifically told people not to do because they were an abomination to him, like murder and coveting. Just like the US government.

takeitez, one day your own mind will actually fire off a brain cell and you will realize how barbaric your idiotic beliefs are.

God used Babylon to punish Judah. God used the USA to punish Saddam. God uses humans for His purposes.

You're fucking nuts. Get thee to a sanitarium.

God used Babylon to punish Judah. God used the USA to punish Saddam. God uses humans for His purposes.

I just realized, that by extension God's using the USA invasion to punish innocent Iraqi civilians. Why does god hate his children?

Even though the UAW, the Teachers Union, and the Democrat Party have trashed the state of Meeshigan, the Neandrathals who still live in the shithole called Detroit will pay homage to the Donkey.

FWTHOM-
Just for kicks, could you give me your connotations/denotations for these nouns that you invented?

1.Meeshigan

2.Neandrathals

Too bad for you FW, but the 3 Stooges only have 32 days left before being sent home for good.

Here is a question. Since John McCain has declared that He has given up on Michigan and by default Michiganders. How could a Michigander vote for a guy who has said in effect He has given up on them?? Seems to Me that You wouldn't support someone who gave up on You now would You?? Just a thought.

Larry

"How could a Michigander vote for a guy who has said in effect He has given up on them?? Seems to Me that You wouldn't support someone who gave up on You now would You?? Just a thought." - LAR

If it had been McCain publicly announcing, "I've given up on Michigan" I'd agree with you. To my knowledge McCain's not done that.

Ask Obama's people about their resources in states which look pretty good for McCain. While I hate to see McCain's camp pull up stakes it ultimately comes down to counting electoral votes and, apparently, the campaign feels its resources are better utilized elsewhere.

It sucks for Republicans down ticket. Same thing applies for down ticket Dems in red states.

Oohrah-
McCain has lost Michigan, and he knows it.

I haven't kept up with the latest polling the past few days, BET, but I am not disputing your post.

I'm sure both the Reps and Dems have their own private polling... polling whose numbers aren't cooked to provide today's news for the media.

First of all His campaign has admitted to this OohRah. Secondly isn't the first order of business runing for President to get the voters(Employers) to hire You?? Then of course getting the necessary EC votes?? It does indeed suck for peole like Me in a red state of Kansas since I am a blue guy but I knew that when I became a Democrat. It would be different if My state was either way. It would tell Me if Barack Obama did it to Kansas what John McCain did to Michigan. That I didn't matter to Him so why should I hire Him. Know what I mean??

Larry

I don't disagree in principle with you, LAR. When a campaign pulls out of a state it sends a clear signal that they feel the state is no longer in play.

My only contention with your post was that it was a lower level McCain person sharing this news... and, for the sake of this thread, that the person was factually quoted.

Surely, if McCain's bolted there is the physical evidence of his team's departure.

And like I said - if people aren't jazzed about voting for POTUS I think it's less likely they'll show up to vote for the down ticket people.

Take Kansas. I bet there are plenty of Dems who think, "screw it... my vote won't matter in this red state" so they'll stay home. Too bad for the down ticket Dems. Those candidates suffer because the state, at the POTUS level, isn't competitive.

North Carolina is somewhat interesting in this regard. We tend to vote Rep for POTUS but Dem for statewide offices.

For Me I always vote. No matter what. Cause You see I just LOVE to bitch. I figure if I don't vote I have lost My license to bitch.

Larry

Larry-
You're right about that. If you don't vote you lose your right to bitch, or gain your right to be ridiculed for bitching, depending on how you want to look at it.

Oohrah-
re: "Surely, if McCain's bolted there is the physical evidence of his team's departure."

There is. Use the Googles.

Again, BET, I'm not contesting your contention.

What I was saying was that if McCain's guy had been misquoted, then were would be physical evidence to validate the reporter's efforts. Apparently there is the physical evidence - I'm not disputing that at all.

You, LAR and I are in agreement. (Now that's a scary thought...)

Oohrah-
Sorry if I misunderstood.

No sweat. We're tyically 90% on opposite ends of a topic. On this we agree.

I did watch last night's debate. Haven't commented on it. I did read a good bit of the DR comments. Didn't stay up to watch the spinners and didn't watch any news today... didn't catch Rush either.

BETELG,

There was a certain radio host who pronounced Michigan as Meeshigan and he always made me laugh.
As for spelling or typing errors, I don't care to even look them up. Live with it and love with it.

Thom,

"Meeshigan" is a an affectionate pronunciation for this great state.

It was oft-used by the late, great Bob Ufer.

www.ufer.org

He was a beloved broad-caster for Michigan football and he often pronounced "Michigan" just as you've typed it.

FWTHOM-
re: There was a certain radio host who pronounced Michigan as Meeshigan and he always made me laugh.

What was funny about it? Was it the mispronunciation itself, or did he include sound from slapstick comedies of the past?

JeffJ-
That's very helpful. In light of your recent illumination of things I don't understand, can you explain FW's definition of "Neandrathals"?

(...the Neandrathals who still live in the shithole called Detroit will pay homage to the Donkey.)

BetelG,

Google "Bob Ufer" and listen to some of his stuff.

He was a beloved icon.

Heck, the link I provided contains one of his blurbs.

Bet.

I can't help you with "Neandrathals."

Jeff J-
re:"I can't help you with 'Neandrathals.'"

That's just because you don't even want to try to sort that shit out. You have my sympathy, not.

BETLG,

Actually I never heard the guy on the radio say "Meeshigan" even once, but a guy I worked with in Ohio used to say "Meeshigan" to me all the time as a form of harassment because I went to that so-called University in Ann Arbor, and it always made me laugh. I am a Buckeye fan now because both of my boys went there. Does that clear up my obtuse reference?

FW-
Jeff J, in his role as apologist, explained the "Meeshigan" bit. I'm still curious about this:

"the Neandrathals who still live in the shithole called Detroit will pay homage to the Donkey."

1. I am not making any apologies.

2. Detroit is a shit-hole and its residents reflexively vote for the donkey, usually to their detriment.

Much of the positives that Detroit currently enjoys were a result of the initiatives of Dennis Archer (D) who was hated by the residents of Detroit for reaching out to affluent whitey.

If you are all 'fired up' about racism, you need not look further than the black citizens of Detroit and their abject hatred of all-things white.

Of course, I don't expect you to recognize, much less acknowledge that blacks are capable of racism as well.

BETELG,

Since Neanderthals were thought to be stupid and are now extinct I used that analogy to compare them to the people of Detroit who I ususally call inner city non-working scumbags but I was tired of over using those terms.

"Donkey" refers to the symbol of the democrat party who the people of Detroit bow down to, pay homage to no matter how many times dems screwed them.

Do I have to explain Harry Potter to you also?

Jeff J-
re: If you are all 'fired up' about racism, you need not look further than the If you are all 'fired up' about racism, you need not look further than the black citizens of Detroit and their abject hatred of all-things white.

By "black citizens of Detroit", you must mean, "the Neandrathals who still live in the shithole called Detroit", as FW so succinctly put it, and which poster you continue to defend while ironically attempting to claim the color-blind hill.

FWTHOM-
You need to explain yourself to Jeff J, who it seems was born yesterday in a vacuum.

BetelG,

First and foremost, I am not 'defending' Thom.

Secondly, Detroit IS a shithole, regrettably.

Have you ever been to Detroit?

I've spent my entire life in the suburbs of Detroit and also spend a lot of time in Detroit.

If you don't know what in the fuck you are talking about then perhaps you should set-aside your bitch-act and kindly shut the fuck up.

Well, aren't we a little gas pain that needs to be farted away tonight?

BETELG,

JEFFJ makes perfect sense to me. You shouldn't get too hung up on racism. Don't be so uptight. Be reasonable like me.

You need to explain yourself to Jeff J, who it seems was born yesterday in a vacuum.

Spend some serious time in Detroit and then get back to me, drama-queen.

You have no clue as to what you are talking about.

It's ALL racism in your book, isn't it?

PS - It's no illusion that I admire my dad.

My dad admires his former boss immensely (my dad is now retired). My dad's former boss is an African American.

This isn't about race, you fool. It's about squalor defending squalor and doing so under tha auspice of victim-hood.

Maybe you should consider a new handle: BetelSharpton.

Drop the "G" and take an honest screen-name.

Jeff J-
Of course you're not defending "FWTHOM". You just refuse to see his race-baiting because he's on your side, and it would be like pulling molars for you to condemn him.

Well, aren't we a little gas pain that needs to be farted away tonight?

Possibly.

In the past, I've tried the 'understanding' route with Boyd and have been met with disastrous results.

So, I've decided the forceful and direct route is my next-best course-of-action.

We'll see how it goes.

Jeff J-
re: This isn't about race, you fool. It's about squalor defending squalor and doing so under tha auspice of victim-hood.

Oooh, no! It's not about race at all to FW!!:

"the Neandrathals who still live in the shithole called Detroit",...

Jeff J-
You go, Jeff.

You two should take that show on the road. Thanks for playing the race card game.

Sarah was on with Cameron and doesn't want to give up on MI--

So there is still hope..for MI

"Sarah was on with Cameron and doesn't want to give up on MI--"

Yah, she was on Fixed News again and is still afraid to give a press conference. I betcha she never gives one either.

Too bad McCain didn't bother to tell her before the reporters knew and asked. How disrespectful of him.
