An Australian climate change adviser urges his country to eat kangaroo instead of beef to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions. "For most of Australia's human history -- around 60,000 years -- kangaroo was the main source of meat," said economist Ross Garnaut.

This will probably go over as well as Louisiana's attempt to trick people into eating nutria (a very large rodent that does NOT taste like chicken).

I'll try it, but first I need to visit Alaska and taste Moose jerky. Sarah, please keep some for me.

Kangaroostew?

I'll take a pass.

Have Bow. Will Travel!

Throw Another 'Roo On the Barbie!

Me, I'm for the wombat steaks.

"Bang there goes another kanga on the bonnet of the van."

Them fuckers will ROO the day.

In other news ...Dingoes are encouraged to keep eating babies.

Be Well.

Captured on hidden mic years ago in Jeffrey Dahmer's prison cell:
"Kangaroos? I don't know, but Joey sure tasted good."

boil them alive for the most tender meat.

boil them alive for the most tender meat.

Actually, most of them will tenderize each other.

Oops. Let's try that again.

I love Jack in the Box!

Moose jerky rox !!

Regarding (#8)... for those playing at home a 'joey' is a baby kangaroo. Then again, Mrs Oohrah didn't think much of the joke either...

When I was a truckdriver in the early 80's I delivered a tractor-trailer load of frozen meat marked "Grade D" kangaroo meat to a HoJo's warehouse in the Bronx. I've never eaten at a HoJo.

Grade D? You mean they didn't even buy the good stuff?

BTW... I'm not much of a wild meat eater but Moose meat is damn good!

What did grade "D" stand for? Dy - no - mite?

"D"ysentery

kangaroo jerky - hoppin' good!

Dont sound too bad.

Kangaroo Burgers

makes 4 serves

500g Kangaroo Mince
1 brown onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 tablsp coriander leaves/stems, chopped
1 tablsp olive oil
2 cups sliced lettuce
1 roma tomatoes, thinly sliced and lightly salted
4 bread rolls or burger buns, sliced and buttered

Combine mince, onion, garlic and coriander. Season. Shape mixture into four patties.

Heat oil in pan on high heat. Reduce heat to medium and cook patties for 5mins each side or until juices are hot and clear.

Fill each roll with salad, roo patty and serve with tomato sauce.

Sounds de-lish.

Fire up the barby!

I see a new dish instead of pita pouch....

"For most of Australia's human history -- around 60,000 years -- kangaroo was the main source of meat,"

For most of that time people also wiped their asses with leaves and lived to be 25. Hardly the good 'ole days....

Actually, kangaroo meat isn't that bad if you drink a twelve pack as an appetizer.

And in a further edition, residents of ghettos were advised to help out by eating rats. Response seems to be "weak".
